Scammed by my bank
It’s amazing, when you think that you are the only one getting scammed by your bank, when in reality there are others out there, just like you. As you get curious and start digging up information, you come to realize that many feel the same. I have affiliates that are past employees of WF and have greatly agreed upon the fact that WF is so commercial, that customer service is just a front. They will tell you anything for you to sign on the dotted line, to make you abide to their hidden and "subject to change" costs, rates, and fees. I also have many friends (including myself), that have had bad experiences with this particular bank! From currency exchange problems to overly extensive overdraft fees! All they do is take your hard earned money! And with this crazy economy, this is the last thing that we need!! I have started a group through Facebook that is trying to draw in current Wells Fargo customers to close their accounts. We feel that this is the only way these banks will listen to the little guy! August 1st-8th, 2009, we are encouraging all current WF customers to DROP Wells Fargo as their bank! Get Ready, because we will be heard!

Refinance Fraud
We applied for a refi on our home 4/4/09 and rec'd a rate of 4.5%. That was later changed to 5% with some Wells Fargo trickery. We have an excellent credit rating and they said that because we were an existing customer all they wanted to do was make sure we paid our bills on time and we would go to close within 60 days. It is now the middle of September and we still have not closed! Our mortgage rep said he could not tell us when we will close...maybe a week or two more. Our file is currently with the final underwriter and is considered at the 4A stage. We have jumped through hoops with all matter of paperwork. This extreme delay has even caused them to reorder title because it expired! They are either forcing us to default or get so behind in payments that they then will tell us they won't give us the 5% rate. This is unconsciounable and a true travesty to an American particularly after reading a WF executive has taken up residence in a tony neighborhood in Malibu on a foreclosure! Something must be done...NOW!

Buyer beware
I purchased a floor sample sofabed; Raymour Flanigan required I arrange delivery of floor sample by local handymen they suggested for $100--cold cash! Payments over 3 months through Wells Fargo Bank; check mailed by Citibank for last payment "held" for deposit over a week (two big banks could not electronicaly process--how convenient! Incurred finance charge when last payment was "late"; attempted payment on line; not processed; just received another finance charge + another finance charge. I had spoken to Wells Fargo representatives but it is geared toward getting every penny they can squeeze out of the buyer. Buyer Beware!

Unauthorized billing
I puchased a floor sample sofabed from Raymour Flanigan and had to arrange to shipment via a local handyman they suggested--to the tune of $100 cold cash. The payment was due over a 3 month period to Wells Fargo. At the last payment, for some mysterious reason the check was said not to be received by Wells Fargo even though Citibank had issued it (some mysterious reason two banking giants could not communicate electronically but used snail mail. Tho I spoke to WF reps and attempted to make the last payment via computer I have just now received yet another finance charge and another finance charge...almost a total of $30 in finance charges that I feel are unwarranted.

Poor Customer Service/Misinformation
Earlier in the year, we were assessed the wrong taxes for our home because of an error with our county's tax assessor. Our taxes and whatnot are paid via an escrow account that we pay into with our monthly payments, so Wells Fargo paid the taxes in full, leaving a negative balance. When they reanalyzed our escrow this year, we had a shortage that resulted in our monthly payments increasing by $400.00.
After we got that escrow statement, we went to the tax assessor, got the correct tax amount, and were issued a refund. We promptly called Wells Fargo to inform them of the correction, and let them know we would call back and resolve the shortage when we received the refund.
A couple of weeks later, we received the refund and I called Wells Fargo to pay off the shortage and reduce our monthly payments to what they should be. The agent I spoke with told me that because we pay our mortgage in biweekly payments, we were ahead on payments for the year; that meant they could reverse the last two biweekly payments and apply them to our escrow account, leaving us to pay the difference (around $100).
Sounded like a great plan, and it was supposed to be resolved within 5 business days. After the five business days came and went, I logged in and saw that the reversal hadn't happened. I left this same agent a voicemail...no callback. I then called their main service number and spoke to another agent about the problem. She gave me the same response, which was that she would submit the request and they would take care of it in five business days.
Five business days later - logged in, account still the same.
Called back today and spoke to ANOTHER agent and was told that the two requests were denied because they cannot reverse bi-weekly payments, only monthly payments. She then got a bit of an attitude and told me that I should have sent the refund to Wells Fargo because it was Wells Fargo's money. This set me off because that's exactly what I called to do in the first place, and TWO of their moronic agents misinformed me. On top of that, they had access to my customer notes and information and never contacted me to tell me the reversals could not be processed, nor did they check their notes and inform me of this on either of the previous calls I placed to them.
All in all, I will be glad when we sell our house in a couple of years and end this relationship. I will not be doing business with these jokers again.

auto refinance
Beware of these scammers, They like to run your credit without your authorization and then call you up and say that they can give you thousands of dollars on your auto. They get people to sign at 17.99 percent interest rate when they are vunerable. They prey on people who already have loans with them.I can't wait to get rid of these rip offs. They will harrass you 20x's a day if you are late on your payments. Do not take out any loans with this company!!! The goverment needs to investigate them.

bad service
I went in one day to close an account that I didnt need. I spoke to the customer service manager and she seemed really nice and professional. I told her i wanted to close the account. she told me to wait a couple days for the account to be offically closed. two days later i Realized that i mistakenly used the "closed account" card. of course i was over charged so i paid off what i used the card for, and she said she would reverse the over draft fee. i waited a couple days and noticed that the account was still opened and i was being charged more for not paying the overdraft fee. i gave her a call and she told me not to worry and that she'll handle it. i'm a very busy person with work and school so a week later i check my account and i realized that the account is still opened and that i owe $92.18 . she didnt close the account like she said she would and i was charged $57.13 on my new account w/o my permission to pay some of the over draft fees. im extrememly dissappointed that i put effort to close the account and checking that she would do her job and in the end i have to pay money i don't feel like i should.

Loan Modification Process is BS
I applied loan modification at Wells Fargo in early March 2009. I called 5~6 times to 800 number since then until now. Their answer is always same - 1. It’s under review, 2. There are too many applications so that it will take a time, 3. It will take at least 30 to 60 days, 4. You need to update and send us your financial work sheet and hardship letter again, 5. Escalation has been done so call back a week later, etc. They are all BS replies. After re-sending my info twice (total 3 times including original one) and requesting for escalation 4 times to expedite the process, all I got is another phone call this morning (Aug. 20th) from a WF rep. She requested to send update info to continue their review AGAIN. I refused this time to send the info again and told the rep that I will write complaints about WF's BS to Internet. And the rep said to do so. Wells Fargo intentionally wait their customer to foreclose their houses instead of helping hardship conditions??

Scam charges
I tried to close my accounts with them. Went in person to do it. They closed everything, gave me checks for the balances, etc. However, they kept charging me for the monthly fees ON MY CLOSED ACCOUNTS. I called them, they reversed the fee. But they keep charging me for monthly fees ON CLOSED ACCOUNTS. I ended all autopays but they refuse to ever actually finally close my accounts.
My advice, do not ever start doing business with them - it's like a virus that you can never officially delete. They are still charging me for my quicken integration fess ON CLOSED ACCOUNTS.

Modification lies
I got offered the same thing, they call it Moratorium. Pay portion of your payment for 5 months than pay everything on the sixth months that it after 6 months of jerking me around having to resend paper after paper. In the mean time you have to sign that you are in default (which I am not because I have kept up with the payments) and get dinged on your credit. In reality it’s a TRAP!!! For those of us is NOT upside down in the mortgage. They are betting that you will not be able to come up with the balloon payment in 6 months and they will make their money on the foreclosure.
I told them to go to hell!!! And sending the whole story to my representative. Do that too.
