On line records deleted
Recently I transferred my IRA account from Wells Fargo to another bank and I then discovered that my on line records at Wells Fargo were deleted. Although their literature says that records will be maintained for up to seven years Wells Fargo representatives confirmed that all records are deleted without warning even though I continued to maintain another account with Wells.
Warning to everyone: print out all records from Wells Fargo before closing the account.

refinancing home
To Whom It May Concern:
Please help me understand why Wells Fargo would not refinance my home. I have a 173, 000 interest only mortgage with Wachovia Bank which is now Wells Fargo Bank. I’ve had this mortgage since 2003 and I have never missed a payment. I retired last year and I have a combined monthly social security and pension income of $2300. When I bought this house it was my intention to sell before 2011 but that has changed since the downturn in the economy. I also have a condo that has a mortgage of $700 and I rent it out for $900.00 a month.
My credit score is 750 and I have about $1, 000 in credit card debt. I just set up a tutoring business that brings in a minimum of $1, 200 a month. Wells Fargo wouldn’t accept that because I just started the business this year and it is not on my 2008 taxes. I’m also in the process of setting up a dividend account with Edward Jones to receive $400.00 a month income. However this can’t be counted as part of my income because you have to show income for a year. These are my other assets:
Money Market $84, 000
CD $101, 000
Securities $101, 000
Savings $30, 000
stocks/bonds$70, 000
Life Insurance (cash value) $15, 000
I asked for a conventional loan but my house only appraised for 194, 000 so I agreed to pay $20, 000 on the principle to qualify for the 80% loan-to value ratio. They said they couldn’t approve that loan but would consider the loan if I had 75% loan-to value ratio, I agreed to bring the additional money. After weeks of sending them documents they finally said I just couldn’t qualify because of my debt to income ratio. I feel this is utter nonsense and Wells Fargo is continuing to deny African Americans low interest loans. NAACP has just filed a case in court against them for similar practice. I’m sending this letter to NAACP legal department, CNN, Channel 2, and the HUD office of consumer & Regulatory Affairs.
I am closing all my accounts and changing banks!!!

Terrible experience
They call and say your credit is going to get dinged for a past due debt but can't give more info without your social security number. The late loan is one you've already paid off. They demand a payment. Now I wonder if they are going to use my social security number. They have an address and phone number close to the real Wells Fargo, but different.

Loan Affordability Program
Dear Sirs:
Today I reviewed my Home Affordability status online, and obtained the above result (see photo appended below). I called the listed number and spoke with “Valerie”. She said that my application for a workout agreement was denied because of failure to provide my financial data in the necessary format per the worksheet that I was sent on 4 May 2009. This statement is in error in several ways:
1. I was not sent a worksheet on May 4th 2009. I had pro-actively contacted Wells Fargo on April 24th and obtained by telephone communication the information that I needed to submit: Proof of income for the last 30 days, a hardship letter explaining the situation, and a monthly expense report.
2. On May 4th, I faxed the abovementioned documents to Wells Fargo Home Affordability Program.
3. On May 4th I also contacted “Julie” at Wells Fargo by telephone. I gave her a consolidated list of my monthly expenses. This verbal list was stated to be sufficient for the purposes of my refinance.
(financial information deliberately removed)
4. Per my letter of May 4th I never applied for a workout agreement. I applied for a refinance – it was Wells Fargo who sorted my application into the workout agreement path. I assumed that they knew what they were doing, and had accurately selected the path for which I was best qualified.
I have responded promptly to Wells Fargo in all instances where contact or information was requested. I have been inappropriately denied a refinance or loan adjustment due to mishandling of this application by personnel at Wells Fargo. I request a review of my case, and prompt contact to remedy this situation.
Sincerely,
Janet L. Chennault

THANKS WELLS!
Interest stuff. I have been working with Wells since Sept/08. My situation is same as many others. Husband is employed however, cut is salary. I was told back in Sept then October that I did not quality for any of the 4 programs they were offering. One being a repayment of any back payments (hello! of course I can not afford this). I again was in tears after speaking with the rep from Wells as they made me feel even worse about my situation. This was in October. After a long hard talk with my husband, we decided to make no more payments. This was hard for us as we have had our loan for 3 years with Wells and NEVER missed or had a late payment. After 1 month past I called Wells again and was told to send in financials which I did. I was contact in February/09 that I was now in review for the HOPE FOR HOMEOWNERS program and any foreclosure would be postponed. Not even a week after that I received the dreaded Notice of Trustee Sale. I called the bank WEEKLY to get updates. They insisted that they are working with me and no sale will occur while in the process (send me a letter also informing me of this). I am now feeling pretty confident that Wells is going to help me (especially after seeing a few friends lose their homes). WRONG! Now, we are approaching August/09 and still no answer. I was just informed that I must provide new financials (8 months later) which I did. I noticed that I am no longer speaking with the H4H dept but rather Customer Service who is taking all overflow calls. SCARY! I have a sale date approaching for the 3rd time and was told that I am not in active foreclosure by not 1 but 3 reps, when in fact I have call the Trustee directly to confirm my sale date. Looks like the right hand is not speaking to the left. To top this whole mess off, I just received a letter from Wells asking once again for financials and only offering me the same 4 options that they did back in Sept/08. My husband and I are so fed up with being in limbo. I can see why people just say screw it and let their house go. It is not worth the stress and the constant pressure on not only my husband and I but our entire family. At this point we are all about SIMPLIFYING our lives and if that means losing a our home of 5 years, SO BE IT! It doesn't matter where we live because we can make any house our home. Things happen for a reason : )<br />
I can tell you that going this this hardship has really made me and my husband much more humble and has helped us to realize what is most important in life. THANKS WELLS!

auto finance
I purchased a car in aug.2006.To this date I have not recieve a written copy of the terms and conditions of my contract. These people should not be able to conduct business the way that they do. I get herrasing phone calls at night early in mornings and on sundays. The people who call are very mean and nasty and I do not believe that they are inside employees of Wells Fargo. I asked for a deferment and I was approved for that. At the time I recieved that deferment I was told that I could receive 2 per year.as long as accont was in good standing. Later as time passed I called and asked for another. Time passed and I received a letter stateing that I did not get my deferment. So now I am one payment behind. I wrote a letter and recieved back a letter with a number for me to call. I called and asked for the person who signed letter. They knew nothing of this person but to talk to them. I told the gentlemen all of story. He told me what to do.The trick is you can not call for a deferment until the day after your payment is due.So I called and they said that they had to defer 2 payments not just one.Ok, do what has to be done. just get MY account up to date.ok, now remeber I called on the 11th of the month. At the beginning of the next month I recieved my coupon ticket that I get every month to send with my payment.Guess what. I DID NOT GET MY DEFERMENT.Now I am 3 payments behind.
According to the CONSUMER CREDIT ACT IT IS THE LAW THAT ALL PLACES GIVE YOU A COPY OF THE TERMS AND THE CONDITIONS OF YOUR ACCOUNT. I hAVE MADE 30 PAYMENTS AND STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A COPY.
CLASS ACTION SHOULD GO ON THESES PEOPLE

Loan Modification
There comes a time when you wonder why you try to be a good and faithful customer to a business. We have been great customers to Wells Fargo anent our home mortgage. In November of last year, my partner was laid off.
When January came round and the industry was not picking up, we thought we better contact Wells Fargo and let them know we might be having problems in a few months.
We contacted them and they told us to write a "hardship" letter and fax that along with all our financial information. We got it all together complete with a lovely spreadsheet with all our finance info laid out. Little did we know that the process would take over seven months! Then to our dismay and horror, they sent an overnight letter saying, "As we discussed..." Well, first off, "we" did not discuss anything! Their offer was to let us pay half our mortgage for three months then have a balloon payment of almost $8, 000.00. Then on the 4th month they "might" be able to do something for us. How the hell is that supposed to help?
I called them and said, "Hey, what's this? We have always been good customers who have been a payment ahead on the mortgage and you offer us this lousy deal?" They guy, "Derrick" went over our info and found that somehow they had lost my income information, and had my partners wrong. How, I'm not sure as over the seven months we faxed all the info at least 3 or 4 times! He said, "Don't worry, we can get the updated info to the "negotiator" and they can re-work this. It is clear you have a surplus money at the end of each month." (By the way - you will NEVER get to speak to the negotiator.)
I dutifully faxed my pay stubs to them within the next few days. A few weeks later, they contact me and let me know everything was going fine. HA! What a load of horse pucky! I found out on that call that they set up the lousy deal we told them not to do and would have been expecting $8, 000.00 in three months. They did this without a signed document to do so. I told them what had happened on the last call and even though they admit they made a mistake, they told me that since we "declined" their "offer" we had to start from the beginning all over again.
After seven freaking months of work! I was so angry I thought my head would explode like a frikin cartoon character! No matter what they would not budge and I would not be allowed to speak to the negotiator who worked on our loan modification request.
My solution: I am going to find others like me in the state of Maryland and we will, as a group contact not only our elected Representatives, but the Attorney General's office. If need be, this may turn into a class action law suit. I am so sick and tired of companies like Wells Fargo treating good customers like crap.
We have never missed a payment and we were always a payment ahead until they started delaying our process. Stay tuned for more on this. We will become Wells Fargo's nightmare.
We are good customers and we deserve to be treated better!

Out of control fees
My 22 year old daughter recently made an error in her checking account that resulted in a negative balance of $1.32. This started a series of fees that have grown to $475.00 in 10 days. She had no idea she was overdrawn (because again, it was a mistake) and therfore had no reason to check the balance. In the meantime, she continued to use her Debit card daily and was able to withdraw as much as she needed. (Why your debit card isn't refused when you have no funds is a complete mystery, but I'll save that for another complaint.) It wasn't until she got an overdraft statement in the mail - 6 days after the account was overdrawn, that she realized there was a problem. The notice came on a Saturday afternoon so by the time she could get to the bank it was Monday, now 8 days since she had a negative balance. She went to the Bank Monday to first figure out what happened and second figure out how to avoid it from happening in the future. She definitely made the mistake but up until this mistake she had an avg monthly balance of $350.00 and no overdrafts. She's young, she's in school and these fees are more than her paycheck. I truly believed the bank would work with her. I didn't expect everytning to be waived but I did expect them to reduce the amount. She pleaded her case, noted her lack of past mistakes and signed up for on-line banking so she could have access to the account at anytime. (when she originally opened the account she didn't have internet access on a regular basis and therefore didn't sign up for on-line access). Wells Fargo didn't care, doesn't care and just kept repeating it wasn't a banking error and she had ways of checking her balance. $475.00 in 10 days and will continue growing because she currently has a negative balance of over $300.00 and there is a daily overdraft fee on checking and savings. I'm having a hard time understanding why Wells Fargo won't budge. They obviously needs the money and I think if there financial situation is that fragile, everyone with an account there should be a little nervous. Our next step is to close her account immediately. Can't wait to see what they charge her for that.

Home Refinance
I walked in to refinance my home loan and take advantage of the low interest rates. The Manager told me to include my car and pay it off with the money I'm saving on interest. He said this was the only way to get therefinance to go through. Then he showed me some figures and made it look real good. I agreed to those terms. After it was over he gave me a little lower house payment that cost me more by the time I pay it off ( I caught on before this went through) but did end up with Wells Fargo taking my car at a higher interest rate and one extra year to pay. When I question the manager about why he didn't give the full details, I was told I should of read the fine print. I know this is confusing but trust me do not deal with this company! Stay away from Wells Fargo! To that manager, I pray for you.
Now this company bugs me weekly about how I have to have my insurance with them & not the company I use.
