Refinance rip off
We called Wells Fargo for a Refinace .Was told right off before we got into anything else that they could lower our bill 40 a month without the closing of 5000-2500 bucks .free
sounded good for paying noting but it would of started our mortgage all over again all them years lost .Was Going from 6.3 to 6.2 .WTF .The cost to us would of been $26, 000 for the $40 a month savings of $2, 400 .I can't belive this is going on after all that is happing in this country from this type of stuff we learn noting. It is why this hard republican looks and say to them dem do what what ever you like to these people .I will not stop you I'm to mad.

Incompetent
Wells Fargo is the worst bank. Depending on who you get on the phone - you get a different answer from every person. My father banked at Wells Fargo for over 20 years and I am named after him - Jr. and the III. They couldn't keep us straight EVER. I was added to his accounts when he got sick so that could handle the estate when he passed. After he passed, Wells Fargo made life as difficult as possible. There was a line of credit associated with the house that they insisted be paid off but the estate was in probate. I arranged to make monthly payments on it and they agreed but then they sent the payments to collections and charged me late fees that were 3x the amount owed (Ex: I had three payments of $68 to pay it off in 1 month and they charged me an $80 late fee for it - AFTER I had arranged to pay it off with one of their customer representatives). I probably spoke to 20 customer reps about the estate and the probate issues and I swear I got a different answer depending on the person I spoke to. They sent a bunch of correspondence which said this was taken care of and closed but then came back 2 mos later and said we owed money on it. They are the worst - I'm never banking with them ever again and I can only advise others to not do so as well. They are completely incompetent.

Completely screwed us!
My husband and I have an auto loan with Wells Fargo and the payments come directly out of his checking account (that is used for that ONLY). We attempted to purchase another vehicle and got turned down by every loan place the dealership went through because Wells Fargo screwed up and had stopped taking the payments out of the account! So it looked as if we were not paying it! After going to a local branch and having them "fix" this error, it took them SO long to correct everything that we couldn't get the van! Thanks A LOT Wells Fargo - you screwed our credit and our family's needs of a bigger vehicle

Fraud and cheating
We got behind on Mortgage due to employment change last January 2008, by February I knew we had to do something it was closing in on February due payment. I called Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and did everything they asked of me, got a hardship letter, explained the whole situation 5 different times, needless to say I was told that on my credit report the Jan. and Feb would be reported late.
Well I completed this agreement in March of 2009... I have been getting calls non-stop for other charges that in-cured since this agreement was made, but never on the monthly statement. I also found out a week ago when trying to obtain a new mortgage with another company that they have reported us late rolling for the last 14 months because they put you money being paid toward the last month due. Even though the way it was explained, those Jan & Feb 08 payments that I paid extra on my mortgage each month and on time where coming off at the end. So now both me and my husbands credit went down 200 points each, ruining our credit. Anyone else having these types of problems..
I have written letters sent them to the correspondence address in Des Moines, IA, still no reply, they also stated I was late on my payment in March when it was paid to Wells Fargo Bank on the 13th and on the receipt it states it is credited on the 13th; and they are now calling me 3-5 times a day for the $32.69 late charge, The customer service reps and rude and think they can bully me into paying this, I stated NO, I have a receipt from Wells Fargo Bank stating it was paid and credited on the 13th and the late charge was put in on the 16th of March.. They really think we are stupid. Can anyone out there help me get this credit situation revised. Thanks!

Fraudsters and cheaters
I had refinanced my house with Wells Fargo about 4 years ago. There were red flags that I should have seen when I went through their loan center in Nashville. A 'loan officer' there was always pushing us to go with a 30 year mortgage when we wanted a 15. My husband and I went with them anyway and signed the paperwork for a 15. When interest rates went down, we asked the same 'loan center' about getting a better rate than 8% and that Bank of America could give us 7%. The loan officer said he could do better than that but said he couldn't discuss details over the phone and to come to Nashville. We live about 60 miles away and had to leave work early to make the trip. After a lot of beating around the bush, the 'loan officer' (some young guy fresh out of college) said the best they could do was 10%. Our jaws dropped and we left out of there in quite a huff. Unfortunately, we had credit cards with them, which they decided to raise the interest rate from 12% to 17 %.
Late last year we finally refinanced our house with Bank of America at a rate of 5.5% and they gave us a 12% non-collateralized loan of nearly $50, 000 to pay down some other debts. When we asked Wells Fargo for a non-collateralized loan, they pretty much laughed at us and said we'd never get even $20, 000 from anyone unless we put up our house as collateral. Wells Fargo is full of it and I will never ever use any of their products again.

In our conversation he said he did not understand why I was so upset and to get my panties out of a wad! I will never do business with them again! Please avoid them at all costs! Go any where but, Wells Fargo!

Predatory and Deceptive Sale of Stamps in ATMs
I am a long time customer of Wells Fargo. I noticed that I could buy stamps at my ATM. How could I not? A screen comes up and asks if I need postage stamps while the ATM is processing transactions. Before the May 11 2009 increase in postage rates, I decided to buy stamps from Wells Fargo for the very first time as part of a transaction when I was depositing a check.
Only when I got home and looked at the stamps and receipt, did I realize that there was a transaction fee. And what a fee! Nine cents per stamp!!! So, for my purchase of 90 stamps, Wells Fargo netted $8.10 for the transaction.
I went back to my bank and tried to return the stamps for a refund. They advised that I had to pursue the issue through the 800 number on the back of my check card. The first person at Customer Service was polite, but advised that yes, there really was a nine-cent a stamp transaction fee and no, I could not return the stamps for a full refund.
The main screen offering the selection of buying stamps makes no mention that there is a transaction fee, and the screen soliciting the purchase of stamps during ATM transaction processing does not mention that there is a transaction fee. The screen that offers different amounts of stamps for sale does not mention that there is a transaction fee. Only on the very last screen requesting confirmation of the purchase is there any information that there is a transaction fee. The cost of purchase and the request for confirmation is in big letters and the information that the purchase price includes both the cost of the stamps and a transaction fee is below that in smaller letters.
I think the way Wells Fargo markets stamps at its ATMs is deceptive and predatory. I wrote Wells Fargo that changes be made immediately to the screens shown to the customer so that EVERY time there is an offer to sell stamps there is also a prominent statement that there is a service fee for such a purchase. That was in March 2009 – no change yet. No surprise there. Very disappointed.

Escrow refund late
I have not received Escrow refund as of today 5/19/2009. Wells fargo seemed to have this happen with other customers too.
Wells Fargo support(not customer support LOL) people I talked to, Katrina and Britney, succeeded in explaining why I should wait for 30 days truly served their purpose of being there(supporting Wells Fargo).
this reasoning given by wellsFargo Service of "check was processed on 05/01/2009 and takes 3 to four days to gets picked up by USPS; and for USPS it takes anywhere from 7 to 10 business days" is simply absurd.
BTW Saturday is working day for USPS. In any case this is more than 10 business days for USPS even if it left their sorting facility on 6th of May 2009.
More surprising is I was told that I have to wait for 30 days from release of check date(end of the month) for wells fargo to cancel and reissue new one. which seem to happen anyway and is no excuse, total absurd, shows extreme greediness of Wellsfargo, and lack of respect for customers(past) and smells something rotten here.
These kind of stinky things only happen 3rd or 4th world countries or I guess wherever wells Fargo is.
I have very high respect for USPS which always delivered for me in last 15 years without a single problem. They seemed to deliver my mails and biller's statements within 3 to 5 business days. And they probably introduced hand delivery by horse buggy only for wells fargo refunds.
I have no hope but vet my frustration this way. From seeing other complains online, wells Fargo don't seem to give rats ass about these.
I am way too glad to FORGO WellsFargo by not refinancing with them.

Keeping my $$money$$

Uncompromising compassion
Been a customer with Wells Fargo for more than 20 years. I am done with their cheesy business ethics. Take bail out money, cancel credit cards which dont have high balances and on-time payments, and screw me with a mortgage rate I can no longer afford. What happened to the customer focused business? Believe me, all these banks that are screwing people today will need our business in the future and I will let them sink to the bottom bits of the deepest trench of the ocean!!!
Consumers are doing all we can to survive and the banks are taking advantage of the situation to milk as much as they can unethically (although legal). I am done with banks and so should you. Take your money out, store it in a safe and pay cash for everything. If you keep your funds in a bank, they will get their share somehow.
I am blessed, I have a job that pays $120k+ per year with full benes and I can pay my bills with no problem. But I am fed up with the current banking practices. I would suggest not just to complain here, but start writing your news agencies and congressmen. One voice joined together can move the needle.

Terrible bank
This company is charging me insurance in my monthly property payments but is not paying the insurance compnay. I had an insurance claim with american family insurance and filed the claim and they indicated that the policy is not being paid by the leinholder, wells fargo since 2001. I called wells fargo and over the course of 2 months spoke with 3 different people and neither of them can tell me wher my money is and if there is any other insurance on the property.
