Bank account
I had recently lost my job, because of this I ended up having the use Wells Fargo's Direct Deposit Advance to cover some bills. I honestly was ashamed of this. My paycheck from my new position was deposited on Friday and they took the whole thing to cover the advance! I advanced $400.00, my paycheck was $700.00. How does that work!?
Then, because they took my whole check and drew my account negative to cover it I've been getting harassing calls from them concerning my -34.00 account. This morning, at work I told the lady it would be paid in full and then closed as of January 2nd, 2009 and to please note that on my account and stop calling me. She told me that she needed to call me weekly to make sure I followed through. It's christmas time, I have gifts I need to by with that money.
I also have a Wells Fargo Secured Credit Card with a small limit that was linked as overdraft protection. When They overdrafted my account, they pulled money from my already almost maxed credit card and put it over limit and then charged me fees because they put it over limit. So Now, I owe them 34.00 dollars for a Checking account, and 36 dollars for my credit card.
On top of that I had a savings account with them that was closed in November of 2007 when I moved out of the Wells Fargo Area. I just recently recieved a letter (November 2008) from Wells fargo bank concerning this closed account. Confused because the letter didn't say much I called the 1-800 phone number and talked to a repsentative. She then told me that this account was "charged Off" with a balance of -107.00 and that I needed to pay!
I informed her that I had closed that account with a zero balance in November of 2007 and if the account did have a balance on it, with it didn't, why was I hearing about this now. She told me that I needed to provide proof that the account was closed. I told her that I shouldn't have to provide proof and I didn't understand where this random letter was coming from.
Then just today, I got a letter in the mail from Wells Fargo, along with my Statement saying they are financial sound.
Yeah, right.

Fraudulent activity
Due to negligence on the part of Wells Fargo and Washington Mutual I have lost my house and my good credit rating. 2 and half years after my divorce and the bankruptcy of my business, I re-established my credit an purchased a home for my self. I refinanced that home after a year to get a fixed rate and rid my self of the 80/20 scam. Wells Fargo granted my the loan but it was a variable rate loan and I was told that I could refinance after a year to a fixed rate because my credit was good. After the year I submitted the paper work for refinancing with Wells Fargo and other lenders to find that I was turned down because of my debt to income ratio was no good. I had not purchased or done anything with my credit during that year and my income was about the same. I fought with Wells Fargo for a week to find out what could be done, clearly there was a mistake, but no one could tell me. So I began an invention of my own. The first thing I did was submitted and application to pay my bill on line with Wells Fargo online banking, and lo and behold, I didn't have a $140K mortgage but I had a $268k mortgage. In short, they purchased my X-Wife's mortgage and attached it to my account. I called them and explained it to them. They act like they didn't know, surprising to me. I communicated with them for a week alone with Washington Mutual. They began accusing one another. Finally I was asked to submit all the paper work to each bank. My divorce, my bankruptcy, my quick claims deed. After that I fax them the paper work, they confirmed that they received it, both banks, I didn't here anything from either of them for about two a month. Then I received a letter from Wells Fargo, A foreclosure letter. My account had vanished from the account log on page of Wells Fargo, but my X-Wife's account was available for me. I can view the activity of her account but my mortgage account has vanished. They will not respond, my credit has been totally destroyed, and I don't know what to do. Can anyone help?

Morgage & Auto Loans
I bet I know how Wells Fargo survived the recent Banking meltdown, because they are robbing their customers blind with fees and false charges, they are rude and don't have a clue about Customer Service, their Auto Loan Department calls me at all times of the day, every day, any time even Sundays, I owe them $150.00, and I have called them and explained my recent financial situation. As for their Home Mortgage Department, they won't even tell me over the phone if my loan is a Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae, luckily I found out on my own, I applied for a Loan Modification and submitted all the necessary paperwork, and they now tell me it could be another 8-10 weeks??? so in the meantime what am I suppose to do, let them take my home? I bet they would love that as I have alot of equity and only owe them $52, 000 on my loan, I am scared because I have 2 children one that is Special Needs, I work, but my hours have been reduced, does anyone have any ideas?

Balboa Forced Insurance
It seems this complaint is pretty common among this board. So I fell victim to the same forced placed insurance as many others. A few months back I changed insurance companies to get a better rate. For those who don't know, in CT it is illegal to hold a car without having insurance so the companies here are very stringent about getting the coverage right and not putting their customers into a legal problem. Wells Fargo apparently never got confirmation of this. They claimed they received word of the cancellation of my other insurance but not of this new coverage opening up. Which is absurd, first off, considering CT's law. So, rather than try to confirm it themselves which any company can do easily, they tack on forced insurance through balboa. Let me try to make this as concise as possible. The collection calls begin. I called Wells Fargo and they told me they couldn't help me at all, that Balboa is a completely separate company and that my gripe is through them. I called Balboa and they said they needed more info, so I made a three-way call with them and my insurance company. My insurance company (Unitrin) is fantastic and the woman made verbal confirmation and Balboa said OK, we'll update the account, we don't need anything more. Hang up. Next day? Collection call. This is three days later now and Wells Fargo is still looking for money. Are you kidding me? Wells Fargo claims that when I make a payment (Mine happens to be 475.69 a month) the first part goes to interest, the second, goes to forced placed insurance, the third part goes to the loan. Which means that they give my money out to a separate company before taking the part that I owe them? Give me a ------ break. If I ever had to do business with Wells Fargo again, I think I'd shoot myself. What are people doing to resolve this garbage?

Bad service
They have a direct deposit advance system which I have taken out on a few occasions, and have never had a problem. I have my social security deposit every month, (I would think that I am not the first to do so) but they have taken out the payment for the advance BEFORE the deposit is deposited! Which is to be tomorrow, yet they refuse to work with me concerning the matter. It does NOT make sense to me what so ever! It is a MONTHLY deposit it should be set up to be taken out when the direct deposit is deposited!! HELLO!

Awful company
This isn't necessarily a tale of a company ripping a consumer off, but it is a tale of apathy and disloyalty. I'm simply offering the following as advice to you should you find yourself contemplating a choice between Wells Fargo or another company for handling of your mortgage. Long winded, not very exciting story follows: When my ex-husband and I got married, we purchased a little 55k house in the City of Pittsburgh. His job was to make sure the bills were paid every month, and mine was to make sure the mortgage was paid. Which I did religiously, never missing a payment, nor was a payment ever late.
Somewhere along the line, my ex-husband developed an aversion to working, and I thus filed for divorce. While waiting for the final divorce papers, my mother and I began to receive many threatening calls from companies after my ex-husband. Multiple court summons were being sent to the house in his name. Speaking with one company (who had my mother crying, by the way, with threats to her since my ex-husband wouldn't talk to them) the representative told me they are ‘coming after the house'. I told him that such is not going to happen, because as part of the divorce, the house is going to become mine, not my ex-husbands. He said I had better ‘hurry up' because they had filed against him (my ex-husband) in county court. I knew the threats of court were real, as I had seen the many summons notices sent to the house in his name.
I finally got my final divorce papers, and immediately called Wells Fargo, who had been my mortgage company for the six years that I owned the house. You see, I couldn't remove my ex-husband from the mortgage until I received the final papers. I told Wells Fargo that I wanted to remortgage in my name only, explaining the divorce. Initially all seemed well, but then the Wells Fargo representative told me that it ‘couldn't be done'. And that he was sorry, but they cannot help me because of my ‘bad credit'. Now my credit was not the best, but it certainly wasn't bad! He wished me luck before he disconnected the call.
I then logged online and viewed a copy of my credit report. I was shocked to see my irresponsible ex-husband's handiwork – among a few other things was a joint retail account had been ‘charged off as bad debt', and there was a $10, 000 loan that I had cosigned on for him that he hadn't made a payment on in over a year.
I called Wells Fargo back and argued that I was unaware of these blemishes on my credit, and that I would take care of them . . but how can they deny me when I never missed a payment to them in six years? The representative agreed that I had never even had a late payment in all that time and that my payment record with them was flawless. The representative said he hoped everything worked out for me before he disconnected the call.
I scrambled and was eventually forced to sign an 11.5% mortgage with a company called HomEq. Once again, I'm not saying Wells Fargo did anything wrong – companies don't have to be faithful and understanding. I'm just presenting my story for you to keep in mind should you have a choice between them and another mortgage company down the road.

Auto
I leased a car through a company called "Yes Plan". After a few years this lease was transferred to Wells Fargo without notice. When the lease ended, the company asked me to pay $5000.00 as a buy out. Since this vehicle's value was originally only $12 000.00 and I had already paid $32 000.00, I informed Wells Fargo that they could come and get it. They declined and asked me to make them an offer. I offered them $2 000.00 and they accepted the offer. I made the payment. It is now 7 months later and they still have the car registered to them, and despite significant efforts on my part, they have not sent me the transfer of ownership papers.
It is now time to insure the vehicle, so I went to discuss this issue with the insurance company, who called Wells Fargo. A representative of Wells Fargo stated that they would fax the papers to the insurance company, but did not follow through on this promise. I am already out of pocket because I had to pay $96.00 for temporary insurance till this mess was sorted out. I am unable to insure the vehicle in the normal fashion until Wells Fargo faxes these documents.
I am still being given the runaround by Wells Fargo after 7 months, this is ludicrous.

Rip off company
This is something extremely devastating to me and my family. Just like most of the people out there, I work hard to make a living. For the past 3 years, I've been working in China. A while ago, in 06 I think, I got a refi from Wells Fargo.
After the mortgage was done, I soon received a phone call from my mortgage broker. It appears that Wells Fargo did not process the auto pay when we were doing all the paperwork in escrow. After making the total payments and set up auto pay (with email confirmation), I thought everything would be good to go.
Yesterday, is when the nightmare happened. Last time I was back in the states was New Year this year for about one week. Now, it's mid Nov. and I have not been back there since. I do most of my payments online, PG&E, credit cards, and auto pay mortgage... Therefore, I did not bother to have someone to check my house and mail constantly. This is something I sort of regret right now...
When I was told my house has lock changed, belongings moved, and for sale sign outside, I really was shocked and puzzled. After contacting my personal friend who's an attorney, I was told my house was foreclosed and sold in Aug. Can you imagine what kind of shock this is? I never gotten any email regarding a non-payment nor was my mortgage broker contacted like last time.
I would imagine that foreclosure is something to a serious degree to the lender and the borrower. Why was the contacting process overlooked so easily. There is no way I could see the mails or sign for certified mail if I am not physically in the country. If I signed up for auto pay with online access, then why did I not get any email. By simply contacting the HOA, my mortgage broker, the bank could simply find a way to contact me.
Just like most of the people, if I did not get a notice regarding anything, I simply assume things are fine. If I did not get a notice from Wells Fargo, I simply assumed that everything is going through and well... Right now, I am angry, sad, upset, and depressed.
How can something this happen? My mortgage broker found it to be weird that they did not contact him like last time when they found something was wrong. The bottom line is, if they contacted my broker to contact last time, they could've done it again this time if they wanted.
Right now, I am trying to see if there is anything I can do to reverse the foreclosure or get some money back from the bank. My attorney friend is trying to find someone who specializes in this area and see if we can take care of everything in court and maybe even file a law suit against the bank for all the damages and trouble... I am not sure what all of your thoughts are on this... Any suggestions, comments, and advice will be greatly appreciated.
That property and everything in there was my whole life... I lost it... If there is anyone out there that can help me. Please let me know. I am forever grateful for all of you to take your time to read this report and perhaps help me out.

unauthorized Withdrawel by Wells Fargo
I have checking and saving accounts with Wells Fargo since more than 15 years. The accounts are under Family Trust account and not personal. I started a business over 2 years ago and I got a separate business credit card account for myself and my partner in the business. My banking relation with Wells Fargo Bank was great.
I paid off my business credit card account completely. But my partner did not pay his balance or the minimum payments due on his card for a month or two (card # ending with 1122).
Shockingly, and upon checking my online banking account on 10/7/2008 morning, I saw that an amount of $2, 609 has been taken from the family trust saving account, the savings that was saved for my daughter school. When I called the bank they told me that the bank took the money to pay off the minimum payment on my partner’s card. This has been done without my permission or my authorization.
I went to my Well Fargo Branch, and met with the branch manager and she helped me to make phone calls to the right departments to explain what happened. They told me that I have signed a personal guarantee on the business credit card account, which I don’t recall signing such a document.
I have requested a copy of the signed documentation to show to my attorney by sending a fax from the wells Fargo branch on the same day 10/7/08, and I haven’t received any response so far (copy of the fax confirmation is available)
What the bank has done is totally wrong, even-though if a personal guarantee has been signed – which I haven’t seen yet- the money was taken from a family trust account. Not a personal account. The bank should have called me before they take any action specially when I have a great 15 years banking relation, the bank should have gone after my partner, not punch me because I trusted the bank and kept my savings for my daughter’s school. The bank should not have punched me when I have paid off my business card completely.
I request a refund of the unjustified withdrawal of the amount of $2, 609.00 to my account.
Thank you.

Mistreatment
I re did my mortgage with Wells Fargo a year ago and was totally abused by the agent. She lied and ignored me, then sent me the paper the day before signing with the interest rate and payment information.. On the day of signing, I came across a document which seemed to indicate that I would have to pay the taxes - I had requested that the taxes be included on a regular basis during the loan negotiations. I am now stuck with a mortgage the same as the previous one, but I still have a $150 a month tax payment on top of the amount of the previous loan. Then I wentt o check them on my checking account which has not been used very much. I was dismayed to see a $12 a month charge for the last 2 months because "I did not have 3 products with them". I haven't had 3 items for at least a year, and there was no notification, just added 2 months of check account payment for 2 months (which by the way made me $5 minus in my account. Obviously this company has lost touch with reality... I mentioned that I had a couple bad things happen and the rep proudly announced that they were the biggest ahd best in the industry... HAH!!! I wrote them over and over but they refused to listen to me.
