Wells Fargo Reviews

never again
I would have to say that I am fed up with wells fargo. The calls requesting payment is ridiculous. You calling every half hour isn't going to make money come flying out of my mouth. I understand we are behind on our bill and it is in danger of repossessing but COME ON!!! I was out of work for 8 weeks due to conflicting work schedules with my husband and I so we got a month or two behind. Well, we noticed that his job wasn't going to be able to pay for all our bills so he went back to his old job so that I could go back to working nights. We needed another income. Ok so we were all caught up on everything and then I had to be out of work again due to us having another child. Well, we were no more then a day late not paying my car payment and they are calling us again. We were told when we were behind again that we could ask to defer a payment, or even two if they were both late, to the end of the loan. So My husband and I were glad that we could do that for when i would be out for having the baby. Well, we let it get behind so we could defer the payments and we were told that they couldn't do it because there was an application process for it. I'm sorry but if you are behind on a payment and you want to defer it, by the time it gets accepted the next payment would be late already!!! So needless to say when we kept getting phone calls my husband finally answered it and they were requesting payment. My husband explained that we requested a deferal and she had no idea and had to check for us. Come to find out it was DENIED!!! Nobody would have called us to tell us it was denied so we wouldn't have found out until it was too late. Now we are 2 months behind because of that and they are threatening to come take the car. Which is my way to get back and forth to my job!! I am so frustrated with wells fargo. They need to stay connected and communicate with each other at least if not with thier customers!! They are ridiculous and I will never use them again!!

Bad service
Where do I start...This all started back in May when I lost my job due to an illness. At once I called Wells Fargo Auto Finance to see what I could do about possibly deferring payments or any way they could help me..of course, because I had not paid on the loan for 12 months, there was nothing they could or would do...keep in mind I had refinanced the car after at least a year of having it and had never, ever been even a day late with any payments.

So, Let the games begin...There were so many late charges it became more difficult to catch up and finally when we did get a final total as to what we owed we sent a "certified check" by over night mail to the address one of the customer service reps told us to and that night, my car was repo'ed.

I checked with the post office and the check had been delivered however "it takes at least a day to post a payment" I said "that is not even believeable to me I worked as a customer service rep and I know that maybe a payment does not post right away but it entered into the system so that it can be seen and things like this can be avoided.

So 2 days later and my payment is not posted and on top of that, I have to pay 350.00 to wells fargo and 12.00 a day to the towing company to get my car back which I am fighting, and they want references, income statements, and a list of other things. Mean while they already have that information.

So here I sit 2 days after repo still with no answers...

Bad service
I have been making payments for my car to Wells Fargo for 2 1/2 Years, never being late and not missing one. I recently ran into some financial difficulties that strapped us for this month, we had to pay rent, eat, other pressing bills, etc. I called for one deferment for a month and I answer I got verbatim was "WE ARE NOT HEARTLESS, WE WANT OUR MONEY" These were the actual words that were said to me. I have never in my life delt with such heartless people in this bank. One deferment after I have been a good customer never being late on payment for 29 payments. They want their money.

Terrible experience
Do to the economy work has cut back on hours and jobs have been lost. When trying to work with wells fargo on a modification, do to the lower value of my home and the lower income. the statement i received was "you can send in papers but, if you make your payment, it will kick you out of the system. They want me to use every bit of my saving, what little is left. They don't want to help the people that are trying. They only work with though that are delinquent. They want me to screw up my credit scores, that i worked so hard to keep.

Fraudsters and scammers
Two years ago I payed off my Wells Fargo Credit Card because the interest rate was too high. Now, two years later, I receive a bill with two charges that total $76.33.

I called Wells Fargo Customer Service and asked why this account wasn't closed and was informed "Sir, you never closed this account". I then explained what happened and was transfered to Customer Fraud. Customer Fraud (Alena id ec5) stated they would research the charges and go ahead and take these off the account. I stated that I closed the account two years ago and why wasn't it closed. They stated I would need to contact Customer Service to close the account. Now, I'm transfered to customer service and spoke with Chris (#2881) who promised me the account would be closed by 10.10.08).

Today (10.15.08) I receive a new Wells Fargo credit card in the mail. Now, I'm really shocked because what part of close my account do they not understand?

I call customer service the the representative stated I never closed my account. I then asked for his supervisor and I'm transfered to Enrica Canales (S4136). I explain what happened going back two years. he then states, what do you want me to do, I stated "close my account" then he asks me why? I explain again and now he says that I never closed my account and asked me why I can't keep my stories straight. About that time I because more than upset. He then said "Sir, you have two options, tell me what you want or I hang up". I have already explained to this person more than once that the account needed to be closed. He then stated that the record showed that I only called last week and spoke with customer service and never requested to have my account closed". About this time I asked for his supervisor and he stated "I don't have one". I asked "so, you don't report to anyone? We all report to someone?" He said, "I report to a board". He refused to give me the information but a PO box that I could write to.

Now, I'm really getting pissed off and this is no lie, he called me a lier, an idiot and I must be stupid because I am making this all up and never requested to have my account closed". I want to know why my account wasn't closed two years ago, last week via Chris (#2881) and this evening. I also want to know why I receive a new credit card?

I was so pissed I hung up. I have a feeling this was his goal.

I called back and spoke with Raymond (#807072) who gave me a number to contact in regards to complaints against this manager. You can believe me, I will be calling tomorrow, contacting the Attorney Generals Office, the CEO of WF and every site that talks about Wells Fargo.

What I don't understand is why they are great about setting up an account, but when you close it, they always seem to "forget" to close it and stated that it was never done.

Awful service
I just got off the phone with a representative from Wells Fargo Financial. The man I spoke to from customer service must have been one of the rudest people I have encountered in a long time! I was recalled to active duty and under the Servicemember's Civil Relief Act am entitled to an interest percentage drop if the obligation was entered prior to enlisting. Anyways, I mailed the paperwork (a letter explaining the situation, my orders, my enlistment contract) and certified/registered mailed it to their address that handles this in late August this year.

Since I hadn't heard anything by September and the delivery confirmation stated it was received in late August (even had the signature) I decided to call. The customer service representative said they must have not received it. I explained that it was certified and he told me to try to read the signature. Needless to say, we didn't come to an agreement and I resent the information, again certified and registered mail.

Fast forward to a month later. Today I decide to call since no changes have been reflected on my account. I speak to a gentleman and tell him this is the second time I have sent in this information which now clearly states it was received Sept 29th of this year. Since it's mid October, and I still hadn't heard anything, I wanted to speak to someone who could help. He was possibly the rudest customer service representative I have encountered. He told me it hadn't been 30 days and they had not received anything. He verified that the address I was sending it to was correct and said to resend. I told him I wanted to speak to the dept that handles it since obviously someone was signing for this and nothing was being noted into the account and he said no one could help me.

I finally asked to speak to his supervisor and he said no one could help me. He told me that I couldn't count since it hadn't been the thirty days so no one could help me. I reiterated to him that this was my second attempt at sending this information but he was too busy telling me to just mail it again that he failed to realize that I have two receipts that state this was received by Wells Fargo. He was so rude - why work in customer service with that attitude? It reflects extremely poorly on Wells Fargo to hire such incompetent people.

Finally he patches me through to supposedly his supervisor which was actually cordial however said I would have to mail the paperwork again and to certify it (obviously this method has yet to work). I told him I would humor him and send it in again, however, I wanted a point of contact so that if this is not received once again, I can speak to someone to fix this issue. He said to call back customer service.

I am extremely upset with the way Wells Fargo is treating me and this situation. I've served my country to nine years now and Congress and our President have put this Act in place to help us. It is a shame that companies like Wells Fargo do everything they can to not comply.

Do NOT bank with Wells Fargo Financial!

Fraud, fraud, fraud
After being on time with 29 payments never missing one for my car payments, we ran into some financial difficulties. spoke with someone in the department about a week a half ago and he said, no problem, just call back after the due date and they will give you a deferment on payment for a month. Called back today 10/13/08 and after going through their chain of command in their collections department, I was told by the floor supervisor verbatim "We are not heartless, we want our money" among other words. I live on social security and had just run into a temporary situation. On time for 2 1/2 years and this is how a bank treats good customers? I can't believe it.

Bad service
Wells Fargo made an illegal automatic withdrawal from my personal checking account 11 days after I called in a payment. They took out a very odd amount of $986.59, not even my house payment amount. I did NOT have all of that in my account so my credit union paid them the difference, charged me a $24 overdraft fee, AND put me $220 in the negative. I had my credit union fax me a copy of their withdrawal and called WF. They DENIED any activity saying it does not show on their system of such a withdrawal. I faxed them the copy and they said for me to call them in 5 business days. I had to go without ANY money, I was FLAT BROKE for almost a whole week because of them. Then all of the sudden that money is back in my account but REFUSE to pay me the $24 in overdraft fees. And they DENY the fact they ever withdrew my money. When I asked how my money all of the sudden 'appeared back into my account' they told me to check with my credit union, which of course they did NOT have anything to do with that. This company is full of crap. I am now looking for a different company to deal with, a company who is trustworthy because I plan on being on my home for a long long time.

Scam and cheating
My husband & I purchased our home from Wells Fargo, located in Texas, however the loan was out of a Wells Fargo Home Mortgage office in Ft. Mills South Carolina with our payments going to the home base at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Inc, out of Des Monies, IA. We thought something was funny as it took eight weeks to close on the new home while purchasing it and when we tried to turn and sell the home sometime within a year, we found out that the foundation was broken and we could not sell it. While investigating our FHA paperwork, I came upon a really unusual situation. The paperwork for our FHA loan appraisal was actually done on a conventional loan processing paper and Wells Fargo had denied it the first time the brokers tried to have it processed, as it wasn't done right, and then it was submitted again and approved the second time around. Calling on Wells Fargo they admitted that they didn't process it the first time and admitted that they did turn it down the first time. Then I called FHA for an answer, they could not give me the reasons why it would pass and that they didn't see anything wrong. After going through many, many months and three real estate firms to sell it, we decided it was in our best interest to hand the home back to Wells Fargo and we filed all the necessary paper work for a deed in lieu, approximately and timely within the first month everything was done certified, also, letting WF know of the situation and moving out immediately to hand back their home, with Wells Fargo keeping our down payment of over $15, 000, plus the two years of time we paid on it. Then in the mist of the whole thing we found that the taxes on the property weren't even processed correctly it was all fudged. Wells Fargo, never processed the deed in lieu and offered only the reduction of selling which we could not afford and they turned down our wanting the deed and lieu, on top of this the house sat closed up for more then eight months while they were messing things up, by saying they would get someone out there to appraise the home, however, they couldn't even get the right appraiser out there, which would be an FHA appraiser... they wanted a conventional loan appraiser out there... however, we were not able to even afford their decision of a reduction sell. Totally not allowing for the deed and lieu and all along, Wells Fargo kept us at bay by losing our paperwork and claiming that employees were walking off the job and fax machines not getting the material because of all the refinancing that was going on in the USA at the time. The end result was our credit score was destroyed, and being told by a law firm that Wells Fargo was way to big to go after. Then to make things worse, several of my credit card companies wrote and decided to lower my available amounts because of the loss and then upped my rates as high as it could go. To this very day, I have all the paperwork, faxes, dates, numbers, letters to and from that could very well, make your toes curl. This is what one would call The REAL DEAL: A REAL AMERICAN NIGHTMARE! Pebbles of MO

Remember Wells Fargo bank is not the same division as Wells Fargo Mortgage Company, they do not have the same rules and can not help cross help you in a different division.

Terrible everything
Wells Fargo representative arrogantly insisted there was no problem when the bank's automated phone number repeatedly sent me to the wrong information. It was a strange situation that was made worse by Brian's tone of voice that there was no problem. I finally decided to get help at another time. It would be great if Wells Fargo would listen to complaints and then investigate to determine if there IS a bad employee on their phones. Especially in this economic climate, it could cost them a lot if they don't. Oh well, not my problem.
