Fraud charges
I deposited a check into my account from American General Finance for 3500.04 on 8/6/08. According to my online banking the funds were to be made available to me 8/8/08. On 8/8/08 the 3500.04 showed up in my account and my direct deposit paycheck of $885. I made a few online bill pays. One for 2000.00 to credit card and 100.00 to another card and 80.00 to student loans and so on.
I logged onto my account 8/9/08 to see if my bill pays had been sent out and my account showed 2200.00 overdrawn. So on 8/8/08 my account showed 4300.00 and now I'm -2200.00. They put a hold on my check after they made the funds available to me. Now I have no money. They went ahead and used part of that money to make my bill pays and turned around and took it back. Even all of my paycheck to cover their mistake.
If they would have put a hold on my check from the beginning I still would have had my paycheck to live on. Now I have nothing. I had to borrow money from my parents to buy gas and food. What if I didn't have them to help me? I don't care that they held my check. I care that they took my paycheck to cover their mistake.
I called them 8/10/08 to complain about what they have done and no one would talk to me. They asked for a password that I apparently set up 3 years ago. If my pin number worked they would accept that, but my debit card it currently shut off for fraud. On 8/8/08 I had fraudulent activity on my account and I was told I would have a temporary credit and I haven't gotten that yet.
It's not like this check is a personal check from someone. It's a check from a financial institution that has been around a long time. HOW CAN THEY JUST TAKE ALL MY MONEY? It's sunday right now and I won't have any money until Friday. They told me over the phone that any overdraft fees I incur will be credited back to me. I have all the bill pays and a few debit card transactions totally 7 pending orders.
Gee, 35.00 x 7=245.00 in overdraft fees I have to deal with until they give me my check. I should have over a 1000.00 clear sitting in my account right now. I hate Wellsfargo. How are they going to make bill pays out of the money they cleared to me and then take it away for another week and take my paycheck with it?

Charged $700 interest on $98 fee
I opened an 18 month no interest payment plan with Wells Fargo when I got eye surgery. Everything went smoothly and for 17 months I had been paying it off. The last month - January -, I never received a statement (I had about $90 left to pay off of $3000), but I received a $600 statement in February. I called to inquire about it and I was told the account is paid off and I can just ignore it. I kept receiving higher and higher amounts every month so I called again in May. I was told there is one more payment of $98 and because it wasn't made in time I am now charged interest on the entire amount. I tried to explain that I never received a statement to no avail. I called again in June and I was told they have no record of me calling them, on the contrary they called me a year and a half before and that is the last time we had been in contact. Of course, they also stated they refuse to waive any fees. I asked to speak to a manager, and after I was on hold about 10 minutes, a manager came on the line who clearly knew what was going on from the customer service department. He was rude and told me billing statemnts are a COURTESY, I should know what my balance is and pay it off. He also told me they have no record of me calling in and I must have been calling the wrong number.

Run away from them
Wells Fargo is the most frustrating mortgage company we have ever dealt with.
Any time we have had a question or concern during the 5 years we have had our mortgage with them and had the misfortune of having to call them, it is endless frustration, reps who know nothing and different reps who tell you different answers to the same questions.
In December of 2007, we missed our second mortgage payment in a row by paying 4 days after the due date. This was as a result of several months of unemployment after losing both of our jobs.
Even though we made the payment, we were informed by letter from Wells Fargo that we were in default and foreclosure proceedings had begun.
We called Wells Fargo right away to see what could be done. We were told that their law firm had begun foreclosure proceedings and not only did we have to pay the two mortgage payments that totaled only $1, 385.77, we had to pay over $2, 700 in legal fees. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Our kids got no presents last year.
We have faithfully made every payment since 12/07 and finished our payment arrangement 6/24/08 and received notice just two days ago from their law firm that the foreclosure had been satisfied and all judgments cleared
Yesterday, we received a letter dated 7/2/08 saying there was $481.53 in an account that had not been applied to our mortgage and we need to remit an additional $54.36 to bring our account current.
I called Wells and tried to find out what the letter meant. After being transferred to 5 different departments and 7 different reps and after spending over 1 hour screaming on the phone, we were transferred to a decent guy (he must have worked for someone else) who opened up an investigation to find out which department sent the letter and what the status with our account was.
Today we received a letter from Wells Fargo dated 7/13/08 telling us we were two months in arrears and we were being assessed fees and late charges totaling $1, 480.73. Failure to pay would result in foreclosure proceedings.
After arguing for nearly 1 hr. with a young...and I do mean young lady who kept repeating the same thing over and over, I was given an address to send a formal written complaint.
The basis for our argument is that when we asked for help back in December of 2007, Wells Fargo changed our payment date from the 1st of each month to the 24th. Our last payment was 6/24/08. At that time we were told we would receive notice as to what date our next payment would be. I even gave this girl the name of the rep that told us that.
She said I apologize if you misunderstood, but that our payment would automatically return to the 1st. after the payment arrangement was concluded. I explained that the rep who set up our payment arrangement told us "your new payment date is every month on the 24th". Over and over she kept asking "why would you think it was changed"? How about because YOU TOLD US IT WAS!! How about you sent us the payment arrangement in the mail and we signed it and faxed it back to you and you sent us a letter stating it was accepted!!! Maybe that is why!!!
So now we have to make endless photo copies of all the correspondence and documentation and send it to their executive complaint department and wait our 20 days for what I'm sure will be a decision that will favor Wells Fargo. Sounds like our attorney is about to get richer off of us. Somebody, please send us $58, 461.91 and get us far away from Wells Fargo!!!

Terrible customer service
Worst customer service I've ever had with any bank. A lot of hidden and unexpected charges and fee. When I close the account, the Branch Manager told me I had to personally go to a bank and close it off. When I brought my balance to $0, she said I could call her the next day and she will close it for me. I called and she was never available (either in meeting or on the phone), or returned my call. I found out now, I can just all the general number and close it off. They really suck.

Terrible customer service
I have seen many complaints about ASC. ASC is a front for Wells Fargo. On the upper right hand side of your bill is a correspondence address. If it is PO BOX 10328 in Des Moines, Iowa 50306 your branch of ASC is affiliated with Edward Jones Mortgage, LLC. These guys are affiliated with Wells Fargo Ventures, LLC. The bottom line is the top of the food chain here as best as I have researched thus far is James Strother, EVP and General Counsel of Wells Fargo & Co.. His listed address (assuming it is his business address) is 633 Folsom St., San Francisco, CA 94107. He sits in a fairly prestigious position on the Wells Fargo Board of Directors.
From what I can tell he is the head of this monster. I have been researching this for a few hours and it is 4:44am so I am going to bed. I will add to this as I uncover. Next up is his phone and fax. There is also an ASC operating out of St. Louis, MO tied to Wells Fargo Resources, Berkshire Mortgage Co. and Texas-Western Co., whoever they are. They are next. Once we have some names and faces to go after we can start asking for professional treatment or we can pursue litigation. It is time to force these skunks out of the shadows they hide in.

They took my money without permission
I made a payment to Wells Fargo and they still went into my bank account and took some more money without my permission, my account is over drawn and so many checks have bounced. They are talking about they sorry. I advised them that I want my money back now. I can not wait until I get at least 2 more years off this stupid *** loan, so I can trade my car in and get the *** away from Wells Fargo. I’m a claims adjuster when I get a single car accident claim and the lien holder is Wells Fargo and the vehicle is deemed a total loss you kind of put two and two together.

Scam charges
I recommend anyone with a WF account to close it and move it to another bank now. I was screwed over five days. WF refuses to fix their errors. I have moved my finances to their competitor. I also am filing a lawsuit against WF for my damages. They will have to send their $500 per hour attorneys to defend them at court. Maybe they will listen to their customers better after a good lawsuit. Get the word out, everyone get their money out of Wells Fargo & Company. Bringing them to justice, in COURT.
Thank you,
Daniel.

Terrible customer service
First off, I'd like to preface this by saying that I have worked in a bank in all positions, excluding personal banking and management so I know how a bank should operate and what they are and are no capable of doing, the only reason I no longer have an account at my old company is because I moved from Canada to the US. In addition to this, I have worked in sales and customer service for 14 years. The Wells Fargo that I frequented just opened this week, in a very community based area, which is what makes this incident all the more disappointing.
I had to cancel my debit/credit card last week as I had lost it and while waiting for my replacement card, I had to go into the bank yesterday to withdraw money. I did so by writing myself a cheque to cash and left ( $60 given in three $20 bills). Bear in mind, I don't have an ATM card so that is the only way to get cash from my acct. This morning, I went to buy something in my neighborhood and when I went to pay with one the $20 bills that the teller gave me yesterday, the business owner was hesitant as the bill was very old and looked like it may have been fake (the bill was from 1973). He asked that I get a new bill or get it verified. I wasn't upset, I just crossed the street and returned to the same branch I frequented yesterday and asked that they check the bill and issue a new one if indeed it was a counterfeit- I was sure that the bank would assume responsibility for giving me a faulty bill. ( Any central bank teller, if they are doing their job properly should sort through the bank's bills and remove "mutilated bills"; anything that can be seen as a bill that should be taken out of circulation. The bank sends these back and gets the money replaced with newer bills). The teller explained that she needed to talk to her manager then went to another teller and asked a question. When she came back, she told me that it was my responsibility to know if a bill is real or fake and to take action before leaving the bank. I told her this was ridiculous: I withdrew money from my acct and the teller that deducted that money gave me what appeared to be fake money and because I was in a rush and trusted that a bank carries real money, that's my fault??? I told her that understood it wasn't her fault but that I needed to speak to her manager. At that point, she went to get the manager- a different person than the teller she had just conferred with- and when the manager came over to where I was, once he had safely locked himself behind the protective glass (which was just comical, I'm a 110 lb, 5'3 in, female) he finally acknowledged me.
Here's where it get offensive. The manager tells me that " There's no way this bill came from this bank"
( verbatim). When I explained that it's on my acct profile that I didn't have a bank card and that there was no way I got the bill from elsewhere, he went on to say that since it was brand new branch, there was "no way the bill could be from here because obviously, this bill is fake and that would just never happen, we're brand new just like all of our cash." He then went on to say that he understood my frustration but there was nothing that could be done since the bill didn't originate from Wells Fargo. So what I got from him was:
1) Even though I'm client ( with a good banking history) I'm lying.
2) I took the bill I got from the bank and exchanged it for a counterfeit and decided to go to the bank and get them to assume responsibility. ( Yeah, that makes sense. In addition to the hassle, that's just stupid.)
3) It doesn't matter what the situation is, they won't help.
I told him, that it was a real shame that this is the way the branch has chosen to handle things seeing as it's their first week being open in a tight knit community.
Here's the kicker: After leaving, I went across the street to another bank and asked them to check the bill for me. Turns out the bill was REAL and they took it and issued me a new one. So, not only does Wells Fargo treat their customers like dirt while other banks will gladly help but they don't even do the most basic part of their job at Wells Fargo. If the teller and the bank manager had taken the simple step or running the bill under a counterfeit checker, this whole thing could have been avoided. I was sufficiently upset at Wells Fargo and have told the tellers in the competing bank about my experience as well as several others that I came into contact with today. I will continue to spread the word that Wells Fargo stinks. I also dropped everything I was doing at the time to call and file a complaint against the manager and the branch.
It's shame that the unintelligent drones that work there don't understand the concepts of customer service, respectful approach, word of mouth marketing and how one dissatisfied customer can lead to a greater loss of business.

Hold on my money
I have to say that Wells Fargo pissed me off for the last time. I made a deposit exceeding 5k on 6/13/08 so there was a hold placed on the check and was told on 6/16/08 by a phone banker that the hold would be removed on 6/17/08. I then questioned him several time to make sure because I needed to write a check against those funds. They assured me that it would be removed on the 17th and it would be okay for me to write a check and as long as the person I was making it out to did not try to cash it on the 16th I would be fine. Well let me tell you how surprised I was on the 17th to see that the were now holding the funds until the 20th. So I called again to see what was the problem and was told that the can extend the hold at any time but when I got upset they said that if the check came in before the hold was lifted they would not return it. Well need less to say the check that I wrote to my 401K was returned and I was charged NSF fee after I was promised by two different supervisors that they would note my account and the check would not be returned. I can't wait until the return check clears to I can get my money out of there.
