SCAM
BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY...My husband and I contacted Wentworth in response to a letter we recieved stating we had been granted our loan all we had to do was pay the brokers fee up front and the money lender would be in touch. We duly paid by card over the phone being refused an authorisation code for the transaction. This started alarm bells ringing so we contacted Wentworth again and after being on hold for over an hour we were told that our loan had gone through. Have we heard from the money lender..NO, can we get a straight answer out of Wentworth...NO, do we know who our money lender is ...NO.
So please be warned they take peoples hard earned money which they dont have to waste and string them along with nothing but lies and promises they could not possibly keep.
The one good thing to come out of this it that you can contact the Financial Ombudsman on 0207 093 5604 and they will get your money back for you as they are doing for me.

Unauthorised Brokers Fee
We had the misfortune to contact this company recently when looking for a loan. Their APR seemed quite reasonable. My husband spoke to them on the phone and they asked for his bank card number to verify that he did indeed have a UK bank account. We then received a letter from them thanking us for our payment of the brokers fee and saying that a loan company would be in touch soon as we had been provisionally accepted for a loan. We never agreed to paying any broker's fee and as far as we are concerned the money has been taken illegally. We are now going to cancel the bankcard that the details were taken from to stop any further payments that may be taken without permission. We have tried to contact them by phone but have been unsuccessful so we are going to write to them and then contact the financial ombudsman. We have been able to get a loan from a reputable high street lender without having to pay any fees. We doubt that we will see the money returned but are going to give it a damned good try. These people should be closed down and unless we all stand up and do something about it they will just continue to cause misery to people who are already vunerable. We have also found out that the company to which our details were passed is also a scam, being a sister company of Wentworth Finance and if you fill in their form you will be charged another fee.
If you have been scammed in this way please make sure you cancel the bankcard that you used. They set the payment up as "Continuous Authoristaion" and can take payments from your account at any time without the need of your permission.
If you have had money taken from you please, please complain. If we do nothing they will continue to get rich on the back of other people's misfortune.

Fees
I applied for a loan with Wentworth Finance. They told me I could definitely have the loan I requested and asked for a £53 upfront fee to arrange it. I gave them my card details but asked them not to take the money for a week. I recieved another call from a loan company and when I mentioned Wentworth the advisor told me to get the £53 payment cancelled as soon as possible as Wentworth were known for scamming people and that they were a broker not a loan company so could not possibly guarantee me any sort of loan. I immediately rang them and had to ring back three times as was put on hold for ages, hung up on and finally given a fake 'head office' number. I have now had to cancel my bank card so they cannot take a payment. I will be reporting them to trading standards and to the office of fair trading as this fraudulent behaviour cannot be allowed to continue.

Brokers Fee taken without consent
I took a telephone call from the above company Sat 16th Oct. The operator adviced me about a loan. I was asked for my debit card details, when I questioned this I was told it would be to check that I have a valid bank account, unfortunately I did not question this further as I was told on more than one occassion that under no circumstances would any monies, fees be taken until I had signed paperwork and sent this back to them.
To my dismay, they have taken 59.oo out of my account which has left me with no money to pay my essential bills for that week. I have tried calling on numerous occassions at different times of the day, but to know avail. I will be contacting a solicitor as I feel they obtained money dishonestly.
My advise STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I caanot believe they are allowed to get away with this!!

administation fee
Please be aware of the fee that is paid to this company. They are supposedly meant to await your authority for the administation fee of £59, which is not with my case. However, what is more frightening is that they have set my payment up as a 'continuous authority'. I have read many complaints about this company on various complaints websites and the method of how their procedures for everyone appear to be the same.
What worries me the most is the method of payment. I have been advised by my bank, Barclays that the bank cannot cancel this payment method. At any time the company can claim another payment, which I have read in some cases they have. Wentworth have complete control over taking money from your account because of this payment system and your bank cannot do anything about it. I have contacted Consumer Direct and they have logged my complaint. They have informed of the next correct procedures and to also contact the Financial Ombudsman. If you have paid money for the administration fee, I would strongly advise you to find out if this payment was made as a 'continuous authority' and if so get further advise.

took 2 payments from my account
I contacted this company for a loan for £10, 000 pound they said they could only get me one for £9, 800 so i said we would procede, on the 15th of April and the 19th of April they took from my bank account £59 on both dates after this was paid they said the loan company would send me a form to sign on the 23rd of the month i recieved the form to sign and send back with a copy of my driving licaence and a wage slip this i did thinking this was the loan company Ralph Marlon Ltd so i sent everything as requested, one week later i phoned Ralph Marlon Ltd to see how the loan was progressing only to be told they had no knowledge of me, i told them they had sent the paperwork to me and i had returned it, i was advised to fill another application on line, I then phoned Wentworth Finance back and was told they would sort it out and that Ralph Marlon was their sister company and not a lender as i was led to believe, i have never heard another thing from either and why they took 2 payments is beyond me this must be illegal practice if i did it to someone i think i would be facing the courts for fraud. Please can some one out there help
