The International Organization for Animal Protection - OIPA is a Italy based organization duly affiliated with the Department of Information - United Nations since 1992 and Naresh Kadyan representing OIPA in India, founder chairman of the People for Animals (PFA) Haryana. OIPA got information that four red Macaws were kept by the Western circus owner at Gurgaon with out proper documents and registration with the Animal Welfare Board of India, where as this circus don't have performing animal permission from the Animal Welfare Board of India, which is the violation of the section 38 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, detailed complaint was lodged on 25-3-2010 by the OIPA in India.
Today PFA unit of Orissa intimated that two Macaws were stolen from the Nandankanan Zoo and presently Commissioner of Police Mr. Sharma also intimated that IG, Crime Branch of Orissa Police searching stolen property of Nandankanan Zoo, where as accused were arrested from Goa but investigating team failed to recover two Macaws. OIPA in India taken up this matter before the Additional Director of Wild Life Crime Control Bureau - WCCB and with the Director of Nandankanan Zoo, then Zoo Director supplied us photographs of these stolen Macaws ( Photo attached here with for ready reference ). It is confirmed that two red Macaws out of four with the Western Circus are same which were stolen from the Nandankanan Zoo and Orissa Police crime branch searching them.
Hence you are requested to lodge FIR against the Western Circus owner Akram Hussain and others criminal offenders for the violation of law of the land, read with 120-B / 420 IPC / The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 / The Wild Life Protection Act, 1972 and all animals may kindly be seized.
It is further requested that FIR copy may kindly be supplied to undersigned and seized animals may kindly be kept in Infirmaries set up by the Haryana Govt. as per section 35 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
