I went recently to the Western Dental on Farmers Ln. in Santa Rosa. It is the worst dental experience I have ever had. I got an abscess and went to the dentist right away. I don't' have dental insurance anymore and I needed to see someone quick as my mouth was in so much pain.

I was glad they were able to see me the same day. I was seen 30 minutes after my appointment time, but whatever. The girl who took my x-rays had to do it at least 12times. Then they took me to a small, depressing room. I waited and saw some guy. The first thing he says to me is "So what would you like done today?" I just stared at him like "are you serious!!". After the exam, he told me I needed 13 cavities filled, and all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed! They had a printout of my bill before I was even done with my exam.

They tried to scare me into getting 13 fillings by saying my teeth are still able to be saved. What the dentist told me conflicted with what the office manager told me. I told the boss lady that I am very busy with work and school. She advised me to go back the next day and wait until they were able to see me because I would not have an appointment. That day they called and told me I had an appointment at 2pm. I called back to tell them I had made no such appointment and that the information they told me was inaccurate and that I would also be seeking a 2nd opinion from a REAL DENTIST.

So today I went to my regular dentist who is expensive. He told me I have 1 cavity that will need a filling and I only need 1 wisdom tooth removed.

I hate Western Dental. I will tell everyone I know never to go there. I don't like receiving low class treatment or service.

I have to go to Western Dental because they are the only office that accepts my insurance, their Turlock location is really ghetto, their staff is rude and unprofessional, I waited 3 hours each the past two appointments, they gave me an inaccurate quote, they changed their story about the work that needed to be done, they started drilling into my teeth 3 separate times without me being fully numbed, the doctors don't speak good english and they did not communicate with me...they forgot me in the room once and were starting to clean up/close down when somebody found me... by then the numbness was wearing off but they told me the pain wasn't so bad and filled 5 cavities anyway...

Every time I go I have an absolutely horrible experience.

After calling before my appointment about 10 times to confirm, I go in and wait about an hour. They mess-up my paperwork and are completely lost about the insurance process. The staff runs around in utter chaos, the facility was dirty, and everyone was rude. Worst of all, I was the only non-Spanish speaking patient at the time and they had the audacity to ask about my ethnicity 3 times.

After a full mouth x-ray, which I later found was not covered by my insurance; they said I had almost 15 cavities even though my last dental visit was less than a year before. How could I suddenly have 15 cavities in such a short-time? They pressured me to get work done that very day and called and called and harassed me to go in for the remaining services after.

During my fillings the doctor left me multiple times and went to work on other patients making me wait for a very long time. Overall it took 4, 5 hours for me to get out of there alive. They are absolutely horrible!!!

Lastly, they made mistakes in billing my insurance, and my insurance responded by saying that I am ineligible for the services rendered, even though they had supposedly confirmed with them the day of. They did not have the decency to inform me of the issue until I called a month later trying to get my x-rays.
Patients beware! They are only in it for the $, could care less about your dental health, and prey on DentilCal and illiterate/poor patients. I hope they go down, like they deserve.

HOW IN THE WORLD CAN THEY CHARGE ME $871 WHEN I'VE ALREADY PAID MY CONTRACT IN FUILL????
Let me explain: In April of 2007 I decided to get braces. The payment arrangements were just what I needed and I paid faithfully every month until my contract ended in September 2009. The only complaint I had then was that in the beginning of 2009 I had lost my job. I called W.D. and spoke with their associates asking if I could pay $50 of my normal $110 payments. I did this for 3 months. I was told this was "fine as long as you are making a payment and that NO late fees will be assessed. By September when I made my last payment, I was told that I had a balance of $30.00 in late fees and was told not to worry about it - they would be REMOVED! In Oct 2009 I received letter for an outstanding balance of $50.00 telling me that they were going to discontinue my treatments! MY BRACES WERE REMOVE ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO!!! That was when I realized that they do NOT care nor do they pay attention to their clients. Then out of the blue, yesterday I received a bill that went to collections for $871.00!!!
