A phone scam has WestJet issuing a warning to its customers.


The airline said the call from a 4-0-3 area code, which claims preferred customers have won a prize from WestJet Vacations, is a scam.


Anyone who receives the call should hang up immediately and contact PhoneBusters.


“This sort of thing does pop up from time to time, ” WestJet spokesman Robert Palmer said.


“The best thing to do is not to give your personal information or credit card especially over the telephone to someone that you either have no confidence, no knowledge of, no relationship with, no trust of, and that's certainly the case with these scammers
