Poor management
My husband and I signed a 1 year lease in Feb of 2008. The tenants upstairs scream, yell, stomp, and make ridiculous amounts of noise at all hours of the day and night. None of us including my 2 year old daughter can sleep because of it. We informed the leasing office multiple times, and all they did was send the tenants upstairs a notice that someone had a noise complaint. They refused to do anything else to rectify the situation. So we retained a lawyer, hoping that they would do something then. They suggested moving us into another apartment. Upon further investigation of my own, these people have had multiple complaints from every tenant that lives around them, and again the leasing office had done nothing for them either. They showed us the worst apartments I have ever seen and expected more money from us for them. So we did not move. Our lawyer spoke with the lawyers for Corcoran Management Company, and it was decided that until they took action to rectify the situation that our rent be paid to our lawyer to be held in an in escrow account. The leasing office had maintenance come in and insulate the ceiling after the first month of not being paid. Insulation did not help, it just muffled the noise a little making it bearable at least. So after much aggravation we said fine that was acceptable. The rent for the month of May is in the escrow account, and the rent for the month of June was paid to them by us and they never cashed the check. We received an eviction notice now saying we have 14 days to move out because of rent that was "never paid" that was paid. This is the second time they have tried to evict us since we too action against them for not doing their job! I would never recommend this place or the management company to anybody, not even my worst enemy. Hopefully my family and I are not homeless, because these people can't do their jobs correctly!
