WFS Financial Reviews

Overcharging and VERY RUDE
My loan was bought out by WFS Financial and ever since I have had nothing but problems. I am ahead on my payments yet every month I am charged a late payment and a previous balance... None of which makes sense since I overpay every month. I pay 375.00 every month and I am actually and as I previously stated I am a month ahead. Here is an example:

Current Payment $311.91
Past Due Amount $8.59
Previous Late Charges $15.00
Total Payment Due $335.50

I called customer service and was treated like an idiot. After being transferred on average 3 times every time I call I finally get a person that lets me know out of the goodness of their heart they will credit the late charge. Seriously, out of the goodness of your heart? How about you reimburse me for having to waste my time every month and stop trying to shaft your customers INTENTIONALLY. At this point, as many times as I have called them it has to be intentional, because any business this stupid would surely be out of business by now.

This occurs on the 16th of the month, every month and can only pass on the word. NEVER use WFS Financial if you have a choice.

Horribly rude customer service representatives
My ex-husband became past due on a loan through WFS. Of course being divorced I had no idea. After he becomes excessively past due WFS sends me a letter. I called in to resolve the issue & pay the entire past due amount. The representatives treated me terribly. I have never had any company be rude to me about taking my money. The justification for this behavior was because the payment had been made late 5 times over the course of 5 years. Not to mention I was responding to the first correspondence the company had sent me. Ludicrous! Do not do business with these people!

Harassment
I guess i am another disgusted WFS customer. I was paying on the Nissan that my Fiancee and I bought last year and fell into some rough times around November of 2006. I was injured at work and put in the workers comp system, so after having a perfect pay history on my vehicles for years, I fell a little behind on this one. Well, WFS 'Customer Service Reps' soon started calling me and harassing me, 3 to 4 calls a day. I tried talking with them and explaining my situation, and asked if they could work with me, and I would bring my account current as quick as possible. Right off the bat, they gave me incredible attitude and would not work with me. They told me i nad to pay the entire past due balance or they wanted to come pick up the car. I finally was able after many futile attempts to get a rep to schedule 2 payments and I was promised that the oldest late payment would be added onto the end of my contract to help me out of this situation. Well, 2 weeks later i found out that they never took the funds out of my account, and therefore put me even further behind in payments. When I called to question then about it, I was transfered to a 'Manager' who told me to pay $1500.00 at that moment or turn in my vehicle, at that point I got very angry and hung up the phone. WFS continued to call and harass me every day 3 to 4 times a day, never leaving messages. So last Friday, a Rep named Eddie from Wachovia Dealer Services calls and leaves a message, THATS RIGHT FOLKS, leaves a message on my voicemail stating that I was hiding the vehicle and he was calling the police as soon as he hung the phone up to report our car stolen...STOLEN!!! and proceeded to tell me that what I was doing was felony grand theft auto and I would be arrested if the police saw me driving the vehicle. Well, guess what Eddie, turns out that threating criminal legal action against a debtor is against federal and state laws, and you voluntarily left that little speech on my voicemail. Thats right, he did exactly that, threatened to have my pregnant fiancee or myself arrested for stealing the car. Not only are WFS agents crooks but they are dumb crooks, and liars!!!

Bad experience
We had no choice but to use WFS for an auto loan to get a truck for our business. We made all payments on time and paid the truck off in full. We have been working for 2 years to try to get the title of the truck from them. I just received a call over this past winter from a representative who stated that they lost the title and OH WELL for us! Now nobody will call me back or help me and I want to trade in this truck for a new one and I am SCREWED! I hope this is the next financial institution to go under in today's economy. If they operate like this they don't deserve to be open and take people's hard earned money!

I have sent numerous letters and emails and can't get a response. So for those who have received a response -- Congrats! For those who would consider using WFS -- BEWARE!!!
