WGES offers 1 or 2 year contracts - but lock customers in through automatic renewals with high fees to exit the service. I opted for one year, monitored the service and did not save money so decided to exit. On calling customer service, they explained that they sent a letter in November (which I did not receive) and had a 45 day window to exit. It is now January, most likely within a 45 day window, but they are refusing to allow me to exit the service without paying a high fee.
Beyond this, the customer service representative I dealt with, Erin, was unprofessional, arrogant and unhelpful. Her advice was to check with my Postman. The organization is not regulated or supervised, so there is really no redress except to sue. My advice is to avoid responding to their offer. This is a shame because energy services companies are important - this one just doesn't measure up.
