inadequate Visa account service

WECU costumer agent as much as stated they know about the shady pracitces of these types of merchants. I am not taking issue with the legality of the situation. The point is they do not provide account alerts when suspicious changes are made even when they have blocked such charges on the account.

Apparently the size of the union affects their ability to provided this type of service. Dont's assume all Visa accounts are the same even with a non profit reputable credit union that is typically about the members. Great for loans, checking but I have now seen not adequate with credit fraud protection service.

poor credit card account protection

Provided NO member protection when my Visa account was charged by a known shady Merchant with an internet scam. Per the WECU card service agent they did block one charge attempted by the company(s) but then allowed four more to be paid and a fifth on the same day I informed them of the abuse. This happened over a four week period and I NEVER recieved any type of notice or alert regarding the activity. Since they blocked a suspicous charge and state this is a known problem with this type of mechant they should have alerted me.

I am now researching for a new credit union provider that provides better service. So far I have found at least one local credit unon that does provide an alerting service with a Visa account (and a lower interest rate too).

Incredible that as I am telling them the charges are fraudelent they insisted on paying the scamming merchant on teh same day and would not allow me to submit a repeal for the charges.

Ultimately full resolution for this issue would include them taking an active role in prevention and doing all they can legally to change this practice. And I feel I should be credited for the questionable charges since they were allowed without any notification to me. They may not be bound to do this but I now have higher expectations for service in the future.

I acknowledge I have been offered "provisional" credit on one charge whch is based on providing evidence to them of interaction with company. But for the rest of it were have reverted 2, 000 years and the adage "buyer beware" is alive.

DO NOT ASSUME THE UNION OR THEIR VISA SERVICES PROVIDES YOU ANY CONSUMER PROTECTION.
