A & E Repair Service
Two years ago I bought a Calypso washing machine. Shortly after we brought it home the pump needed to be replaced. Four weeks ago the machine stopped working. We contacted A & E Repair Service through this website. We waited a week for a service tech. He was supposed to be here between 8 and 12 that day. At 12:30 I had to take my husband to the emergency room to get stitches. Fortunately it wasn't serious. I called A & E from the emergency room and was told that the repair tech was there at 12:50 and since I wasn't there we would have to reschedule. It didn't seem to matter to the call center that the tech was outside the appointed window. We finally did speak to the tech himself that day and he was able to come to our house that afternoon when we got home. The tech was fine and I had no problem with him, but the dispatcher was rude. The tech determined we needed a part on the control panel so we waited another almost two weeks for the part to get here. He came and installed the part and left and guess what? The washing machine was not repaired. We waited another week for another (tech who was fabulous) to come out and he determined the pump is broken. So now we have waited 6 days so far for the pump. We received a call on Thursday to schedule an appointment for Friday because the dispatcher said the ups tracking number indicated the part would be delivered Thursday. The part never showed up so we called A & E again and were told the tracking number indicated that ups would deliver the part on July 22. What happened to the first tracking number? We have found A & E dispatchers to be rude and surly every time we have spoken to them. They could not care less about good customer service the only thing they can say is that there is nothing they can do about anything. I grew up with the impression that Whirlpool was a brand I could trust. I was disappointed to learn about the decline in the quality of your products since I've been reading about the Calypso machine recently. Every time I miss work to wait for the tech I lose money. Every time I go to the laundry mat to wash my clothes I spend money I shouldn't have to spend. By now this debacle has cost just over $400.00 in lost wages and over 100.00 in laundry expense. Rest assured that I will never own another Whirlpool product or use A & E Repair Service.

Poor service!
This marvelous machine is on it's 3rd water pump, second pressure switch and has had 5 svc calls in 18 months. It has ruined multiple pairs of pants with bleach spots and over one dozen towels by pulling on the weave. I have spent over 200+ dollars at the laundermat and 3 partial days away from work.Today's unsuccessful service call was the last straw. I have never had such a poorly designed appliance in my life.

Soap on clothing
I have a Calypso Washing Machine and have nothing but problems. The company I bought the washer from, after trying to figure out the problems as to why I was getting bleach all over clothes that should not have bleach on them, changed the bleach dispenser.
They have never been able to fix my other problem. No matter how little soap I use, when I wash dark clothing, there are soap marks on the clothing. I always have to use an extra rinse in the first washing, then I always have several pieces that still have soap on them, so I have to run them through another wash cycle without any soap in order to get the soap off the clothing. I finally quit calling the serviceman, because he could not suggest anything except using less soap, which I tried and it did not work, or he told me that in the middle of the cycle to open the lid and reposition the clothing so all of the clothing would have a better chance of coming out clean. Now isn't that ridiculous? I do not have time to stand by the washer and do that, nor do I feel like that is the answer.
We received some info and the class action suit, but it did not specify the problem I was having, and I tried to call the phone number for weeks and could never get through, so I quit trying.

Multiple problems!
I purchased a Whirlpool Calypso washer about three years ago. I had about 8-10 service calls on it in a 1 year time frame due to many problems. Best Buy replaced it under the Lemon Law last year with same model at my request. I had purchased the extended warranty which was pricey!
The same model, round two, had the exact same problems with the U joints, leveling off balance, not spinning the clothes properly, drain lines clogging, etc... So I proceeded to have the second washer removed and replaced with a different model this time. Best Buy refused to replace it because I hadn’t purchased the extended warranty again (NO WAY $$$$) and referred me to Whirlpool. Whirlpool refused to replace this piece of junk washer because it has been over a year since I purchased it, despite multiple documented problems.
There is a current class action law suit out against whirlpool on this model, yet they will not replace it? I have filled out the paperwork to be part of the class action law suit. But my washer is still defective and I can’t afford to replace it with my money out of pocket.
I have another service call scheduled on this junk washer as we speak. I want the thing taken out of here and a new washer replacement. I DON’T want another Calypso washer for the replacement.
Whirlpool is aware of ALL my complaints over the past few years regarding this washer yet they refuse to replace it.
