Whirlpool Dishwasher Reviews

not cleaning properly
Bought a quiet partner 2 dishwasher that left crusty residue on glasses- customer service is horrible. I changed the upper rack and washing arm from 5 year old kenmore used dishwasher- now glasses are spotless. Beware of whirlpool products, they are expensive junk and the company should be ashamed of themselves!!!

Whirlpool's Service Sucks
I must say that i never expected soemthing like this from Whirlpool. I bought a dishwasher from Future Shop. It is just 8 months old. One day it wouldn't turn on, i called whilrpool and they sent a technician out the next day. Great i thought. The technicican told us that hte console was gone. He did not tell us anything else. Three days later i called them back to see when the part was going to come and i was told the technician did not update the file. They said they were going to get in touch with the technician and ask him to update the file and that i needed to give him 24-48 hours to complete this. After 48 hrs i called back only to find out that he still hadn't updated the file. I was then told that they will contact his superviosr and that i need to give him 24-48 hours to get back to them. After 48 hours i called back again to find out that nothing has progressed on it since they do not have a serial number for the machine. Now why would the technician not have taken this down when he visited our home. I then gave them the serial number and was told the part should arrive in 3-5 days. When i called back on the 5th day i was told that the technican had ordered the wrong part and that the correct part was ordered two days ago and should arrive by Tuesday. When i called back on Tuesdeay i was told that the system did not have pricing for the part that i needed and the part was not ordered yet. They then got pricing and ordered the part. It has now been 20 days and the part was ordered today. I hope it was ordered. I am now to wait 3 days. If the technican does not call me by the 4th day i am to call the call centre back. Oh and to top it all off, i asked for a supervisor and this lady came on the line. I told her my whole story and asked why so many mistakes were being made on my service call and her answer "i don't see any mistakes being made". Basically the supervisor did nothing more for me than the regular service all people. I even asked if there was anything she could do to ensure the correct completion of this job and she said the technican willl get in touch with you when the part arrives. I will never buy anything Whilrpool again!

GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH A&E
THIS IS A COMPLIMENT.
We called A&E to repair our 4 yr old Whirlpool dishwasher. It was leaking. The repairman was out in two days, on time, diagnosed the problem, determined it was a warranty repair and ordered the part. We called when the part arrived, he returned the next day, installed the part and we didn't pay one penny. It would have been a $700 job!!! Best repair experience we have ever had ~ toally UNLIKE our experience with GE which was a nightmare. I will NEVER purchase a GE appliance again and I take every opportunity to advise others against purchasing GE.

Band Aid Fix
I've been reading many of these reviews, and I will never purchase a Whirlpool appliance ever again! I just had a repair done on my Whirlpool dishwasher by A&E Factory Service here in Washington State. I called Whirlpool regarding a part (the wash motor assembly) that recently was recalled, but apparently our dishwasher wasn't covered under their recall. Fortunately they had an A&E service technician come out for free to look at our dishwasher. I called Whirlpool on a Monday, and the technician was out Wednesday morning. He told me Whirlpool would not cover the cost of the new part, but they would pay for the labor and he had the part on hand if I wanted him to fix the washer. I agreed to have it fixed then and there with the new part so I wouldn't have to continue to clean my dishes by hand. I was happy with the A&E service technician, he seemed genuinely honest and respectful. The problem I have is with Whirlpool, because we were given the exact same motor assembly part number. So I'm assuming the new motor will have the same life span as the old one, which was only 3 years. But on top of that those motor assembly's were under a recall for causing fires that Whirlpool knows about!!! It's not only a danger to our home, but a danger to the lives of our children and everyone in our home. If this new motor assembly causes a fire in our home I will personally hold Whirlpool liable for knowing the issue and not taking care of it the way they should have. They gave us a band aid fix, with the same part number.

Bad Service
On November 22, 2007 I called Whirlpool to locate a local appliance repair company to look at my malfunctioning dishwasher. They gave me five lists of companies and I happened to choose A&E Factory Service. The tech showed up and asked me what the problem was, I then explained that the soap dispenser was not opening during the cycle and the dishwasher was not rinsing the dishes correctly. He told me I was using the "wrong soap" and that I needed a new soap dispenser that would cost $190.00 to replace. He said the door was broken. I told him I had been using the same soap for the last year and never had a problem until recently. He argued that it was the soap that was the problem and the soap dispenser. I told him I would get a second opinion before paying him 190.00. I paid him the stupid 75.00 service charge and sent him away. He then tried to convince me to buy some warranty and I could pay him an additional 44.00 which would save me if I called him two weeks later. I said forget it!
Later, I called up a plumber who has done lots of great work for me and asked him if he knew anything about dishwashers. He came over and told me that there was nothing wrong with the soap dispenser. He said the utensil rack was getting in the way of the door and he moved it and it works fine now. He checked the water line in the sink that connects to the dishwasher and said it was clogged. He said the soap does not matter, it will still clean them providing you don't have hard water. He cleaned the line out, realized the door problem and now it works like a charm! the A&E technician never thought to look at any of those things, and charged me a lousy 75.00 to not even do anything but run the dishwasher.
The plumber never charged me a dime. He said, these technicians no nothing about repairs, they just want to get your money.
I highly recommend you not to call A&E again. They are a rip Off! and highly unintelligent!

SCAM by A&E!!
Technician#0002295 Is sent to my home via "Whirlpool Co"(800-253-1301), following a report by me that my 15 month old dishwasher does not release the soap from the dispenser at any point in the total running cycle of the machine.
He looks at the dishwasher, tells me that the utensil basket can not actually be placed on the lower basket(where it was placed by the installer), because it must be blocking the door of the dispenser. When , in fact, there is appr. 5" of space between the two~~making that impossible! While making a personal phone call~~discussing where he will be spending 'Thanksgiving", he writes up a bill for $122.00, stating that $65.00 was for the service call and $57.00 was for "customer education"!! When I questioned the $57.00,his response to me was "response was to tell me was "call Whirlpool and tell them that their product is malfunctioning". NO REPAIRS WERE MADE, NOTHING WAS REPLACED! I have contacted A&E 3 seperate times(11/20Alyssa-rude and uninformed, 11/26 Elena a promise of a return call by supervisor, and 11/30 Melanie another promise of a return call). When I contacted Whirlpool their response was that they have "no control" over what A&E does and that their product is "totally functional". Meanwhile I have a dishwasher here which isn't functioning!
What kind of scam is going on with A&E and Whirlpool??!!! This product was purchased at Best Buy~~are they in on this , too??!!?

Horrible customer service, defective product
We bought a Quite Partner III back in 2004. Turns out this model has a defective heating element which causes a hole in the dishwasher. This resulted in a flood in our kitchen. Whirlpool's idea of fixing the problem was not to replace the defective dishwasher, but to send a new tub to our house and hire a local company to basically re-built the dishwasher on the new tub! So far they have sent three technician out on three different occasions to do this services and all three replied in a similar fashion when they arrived. They all state: "Are they crazy!! There is no way in hell I am doing this job!! This will take me all day!" Two months later and the dishwasher is still not fix. There customer services representatives at their 1-800 are USELESS! I have talked to them about twenty time over the past two months and not only can they figure out what to do, but they won't even transfer you call to someone who can help.

Whirlpool rebate
Whirlpool Select Rebates are a joke... I purchased a Whirlpool Dishwasher, Model # DU1100XTPQA, Ser# FU2108129.

Submitted and resubmitted all the paperwork that I received at the time of the purchase to the Rebate Center... Still they cannot process my request because: Missing serial number & missing receipt... I give up...
