unacceptable performance and service of whirpool microwave
Hi Team,

I purchased Whirlpool Microwave Oven Model No.22C S.R.No.-B58731898291 from your authorized dealer i.e. Spark Digi World Vide Bill No.-2376 Dated- 8th Jan.2009
On 10th June 2011during cooking Microwave Oven stops working with some unusual sound. I filled a complaint against this problem on 10th June 2011to my dealer and consequently I received a message on my mobile that your service engineer Jitendra will see the problems.
On 13th June 2011 your service engineer Lala Ram came to my home to see the problems of Microwave Oven. According to Lala Ram there was no big problem, only fuse was blown out. For full service he asked to submit Microwave Oven to Unnati Enterprises (Your authorized service centre) for one or two days.
Unnati Enterprises doesn’t communicated anything to me in first week and for 2weeks not proper response from their side. In addition I made more than 10 calls in last 2days(i.e. 24 an 25th June 2011) of 2nd week. I became annoyed onto this act of Unnati Enterprises and informed it to my dealer. In next call Unnati Enterprises told that “Capacitor and diode” is not functioning properly and I have to change it in next day after that you can collect it on payment of repairing & servicing charge of Rs.1100.
On 30th June 2011 Unnati Enterprises told Microwave Oven is repaired and it is O.K. now you can collect it. I went to collect Microwave Oven and told service engineer to show the performance of Microwave Oven. As Microwave Oven was swiched on by your service engineer it was running with some unusual sound and he opened Microwave Oven to reset it but he didn’t succeeded.
I was totally disappointed with this act once again told whole story to my dealer. Next day Unnati Enterprises informed me that transformer is burnt out and it will cost Rs.3250.
I am sure transformer is burnt due to bad workmanship at your service centre. If not, tell me answer of following question-
i) Is Whirlpool Microwave Oven is of so poor quality that it needs repairing in every year.
ii) Is it justified that repairing charge is approximately half of its new one in each alternate year.
iii) if a system was running with sound than how can transformer burnt.
iv) who will be responsible for bad workmanship at the service centre.
v) who will be responsible for satisfactory answer at the service centre.
Please do the needful.
I believe that Whirlpool system is recognized brand that is why I am having Refrigerator & Washing Machine of your brand.
Looking for a quick resolution from your side
Thanking you.
Yours Faithfully

Problem in stop/start button
We had purchase one Whirlpool microwave magicook 22C. Last month we had lodged a complaint on company's customer care helpline No. We were allotted a complaint No DL0511027978. The engineer visited our house and gave us one week's time. When no body visited our house after one week we contacted the service Coordinator. The service coordinator informed us that the part shall come from Pondicheri and gave us approx one more week's time. Nothing happend thereafter. We tried to contact the service coordinator but our calls went unasnswered. We tried customer care Numbers there after a long very long wait customer care executive used to pick up the call but as soon as they were told the complaint No they used to cut the phone. We also gave the detail of our problem on company's website through contact us link. We did not receive any response. One day we received a message that the complaint has been closed in the system. Ever since we are trying to run pillar to post to get the problem fixed. Nothing is happening. My advice to the public would be never never never buy whirlpool products.

Continued Repairs not fixing the problem. They will not exchange.
On the 3rd day of owning my Whirlpool Gold Microwave, it stopped working and gave a code F7-Call for Servicing. I won't go into all the details, but tell you that four months later, I have had people to my house 9 times to try to diagnose/fix the problem. Every electronic part on the microwave has been replaced and they are trying to do a second round of replacing the same parts. The last two times they ordered the replacement part, the wrong part was sent. I am on day 37 without a microwave. The exchange department has denied the request to exchange. Every time I call customer service, they give me the runaround. I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool product again.

turntable
I called whirlpool company to order a turntable for a microwave that is approximately 5 years old... (the round roller at the end cracked and broke... I was informed that I would have to purchase the entire turn table .. that was acceptable...but... when I heard the price $39.00 plus the shipping which would be about a total of $45.00 to $48.00 that was totally unacceptable... Golly you can go and buy another microwave for that price... and you can be sure that this microwave part was made in CHINA!!!... Enough of this ballony...My son is working on the round roller as I write... and WHIRLPOOL YOU CAN BE SURE I WILL NEVER AGAIN PURCHASE ANOTHER WHILRPOOL PRODUCT AND I WILL INFOR ANY ONE AND EVERYONE THAT WILL LISTEN... I will post notices up whereever there is a bulleton board, be it church, workplace, hardware stores and to anyone that will listen to my story... People are getting sick and tired of purchasing products that are madein CHINA and as a replacement part is needed you soak the living hell out of them... GoodBye WHIRLPOOL...

Poor Service/Warrenty
We purchased a Whirlpool over-the-range microwave in August of 2009 (model # WMH1162XVQ2). In February, it quit heating food. I called warrenty information and they dispatched A&E to services. They did not come with the parts, so they ordered them. The parts never arrived, so I called Whirlpool, and they re-ordered the parts, telling me they would arrive together and to call for service when I got the package. I followed the instructions, and called when the parts arrived. I took another day off of work to meet the repairman only to find the parts that came were not the right parts. It has been a month and a half, and I am waiting once again for parts. When they come, I will need to take a third day off of work to meet the repairman. I told the customer service person it would have been cheaper and faster to just replace the mircrowave rather than dispatch a repairman from 60 miles away three times and annoy a customer with two months with a broken product. She said that was not their policy and, get this, extended my warrenty for 6 months. I told her it was a good thing, because it looks like the original warrenty (which expires in 4 months) won't last long enough for them to fix the first problem.

Potential safety hazard to Whirlpool Microwave
My husband purchased the house which included the Whirlpool Microwave Hood, model # MH8150XMQ - 0. Recently the door has formed cracks that go all the way through the other side, and cracks are also on the plastic grill above the door. I contacted Whirlpool Customer Service, and after explaining the situation to the representative "Jane", I was told "The warranty is expired. There's nothing I can do for you. You can purchase parts, or buy a new one." I am a concerned consumer as there have been recalls on a very similar model to this one because of fire hazards. If there is serious cracking on the outside of this product, I am concerned about the cracking on the inside and what safety hazards this poses. I am passing all this info to other stores who sell Whirlpool microwaves so this problem can be addressed before someone seriously gets harmed. I have also contacted the Whirlpool corporate headquarters via e-mail to address this problem. I have yet to hear from them.

Terrible A & E Factory Service
During the week of April 16, 2007 I phoned Whirlpool and the customer service rep set an appointment for a third party service (A & E Factory Service) to visit my home to repair the microwave. Up unto this point the microwave was at least operable. While the technician from A & E Factory Service attempted to repair the microwave, he began tripping the circuit breaker in our home. This happened at least 3 to 4 times before the technician called into their office for help. He apparently burnt all the switches in the microwave and had to order them & schedule another visit. Now I have no microwave. The parts were ordered by the technician to be delivered to my home & upon the arrival of the parts (switches) I would have to call the A & E Factory Service to set up another appointment for a technician to come out.

The parts arrived on Friday April 27, 2007 and I immediately called A & E for an appointment. The appointment was set for Thursday May 3, 2007. The technician (Frank) from A& E arrived around 3:30 p.m. although the appointment was scheduled for the hours between 8:00 a.m. & 12:00 p.m. While the technician (Frank) was once again attempting to repair the microwave, the circuit breaker tripped again. This happen at least 3 times. He again also called into the office to speak with a technician. Now he tells me that the fuses are blown and there may be a problem with the circuit board or a wire in the microwave. The microwave is still not repaired and not operable once again. (not the switches, now we have what may be different problem with the microwave) Huh?

I agree with all the complaints. First the A&E customer service is terrible. They have no empathy for the customer, nor their frustrations. They tell you one time to expect the technician, but he always arrives much, much later. This action caused me to miss an entire day of work, when I scheduled for 1/2 the day to take care of the repair. These people suck & I feel the technicians are incompetent as well. They always have to call into the office for help & get this they are on hold waiting just like we do. I watched the technician wait for 10 min for someone in the office before he got an in office technician. After all these complaints about A & E Factory Service (Illinois) (CA) etc; (owned by Sears), you would think Maytag/Whirlpool would look for a reputable company to handle their service calls. A & E is not the one. Very disappointed.
