Warranty service is terrible
Eleven days and I was still charged over $140 for warranty on a washing machine.

The service tech says its a money making racket the way they are doing business now.

Washing machine WTW 6600 SWO
We purchased this Whirlpool WTW 6600 SWO, also a service contract for it, cost about $1ooo for the washer. It never really worked well, we had so many service calls and repairs ( ? ) done until finally Best Buy gave us a new machine, this one WTW 6600 SWO, but it never did work well either. It has gotten so bad now, it stops all the time, I constantly have to take laundry out and re-arrange it, it doesn't fill up properly and I can't use it for a full machine full at all. I have been doing laundry for over 50 years and laudndry is one thing that I know how to do. I can't afford to just go out and buy another washing machine, I have tried to contact Whirlpool, so we shall see. They have just bought out many other major companies so I hope they will see their way to replace this defective machine. If they are as good a company as they say they are, they will take care of this.

Washer will not work code 51
I not sure I understand why whirlpool is fixing the f51 code on the some whirlpool cabrio washers and not others. My washer is not even two years old and mine is doing the same thing as the others I read about on line. I talked to whirlpool today and I guess my model #and serial# are not lining up with the so called problem that exist. I can tell you I don't think the serial number matters. If you have a problem it shouldn't matter. Nothing like spending 900.00 dollars on a washer and within two years the thing doesn't work. Whirlpool said they would send someone to fix it at my cost, thanks whirlpool.

ice cube container
We purchased a refrigerator -whirlpool model # g17fvcxxyy- in december of 2010...problem...ice cube container in door keeps on lumping up the cubes and makes it impossible to despense...We would NEVER recommend this style to anyone again, and the salesperson/store did not explain..this problem..we use a lot ice and are very disappointed in this product...we purchased this item at Loews in Kahalulu, HI

refrigerator not providing cooling
I had purchased a refrigerator from the authorised dealer of whirlpool India in Dhubri. the compressor stopped working in December 2010, and I had to get servicing from the service centre, for which they also sent a bill to me in February 2011. But now the refrigerator again is not getting cool for the last 3 days. So why does such a big multinational company produce such sub-standard appliances and thereby harass loyal customers like us ?. plz provide early remedy. thanks

stove top
I was cooking breakfast this morning and out of nowhere the glass stove top poped really loud and shattered the stove top. This is not the only appliance I have had a complaint about with whirlpool.This stove is only 2 years old, appliances are not cheap and for them to only last 2 years is extremely rediculous. When I contacted whirlpool about the top their responses were rude and unjustified. So in my eyes whirlpool is a corporation and business I will never do business again. I am in the military and I will make it known about all aspects of whirlpool to my co-workers, my soldiers and everyone else I can. I will ensure that people I know and dont know will not have to go through the disrespect that I recieved today.

Service issue whirlpool purafresh deluxe
Hi, this is Ashok from Calicut Kerala ( mob 09895699355 ) I have purchased a whirlpool purafresh deluxe on 16th April 2011 and after following up with the service people for almost a week finally got it installed on 24th of April 2011. Used it for a two weeks and the water started tasting bad. i lodged a complaint with the call centre on 12th May 2011 recieved the customer satisfaction code 573 for c00511005685 ( it should rather be named as customer dissatisfaction code in my experience) and upon recieving no response from whirlpool I sent out another message on 17th May to the call centre and registered a new complaint for which i recieved a message stating that my call is allocated to one MR santhosh along with his mobile numbr and asked me to state the exact problem when he calls up. waited for another day but did not recieve any call from Mr santhosh, then I tried the Mr Santhosh's mobile number mentioned inthe message i have recieved only to find out that the number is not in use. then i called up the call centre again and was re assured that the complaint will be solved next day. next day again i called up the customer care and they have given me the the mobile no of Mr Sali George whom they said is handling the service Centre in calicut. when i asked him why the service engineer didnt turn up even after 9 days he said he cannot check entire calls that his service engineer is supposed to attend and hungup the phone. Now after 11 days of lodging in the complaint am still buying bottled water. i dont know whether i will get my complaint get solved, but those who want to buy a water purifier kindly stay away from Whirlpool.

Fire hazrad on Refrigerator
Whirlpool refrigerator "Relay" caused fire: Hundreds of reports (see http://www.consumeraffairs.com/homeowners/whirlpool_refrigerators.html) have brought this issue and why we have to tolerate this for so long?

Refrigerator caught fire. Smoke alarm set off. Had I not been home damage would have probably been out of control. I traced smoke to bottom of refrigerator and pulled unit out from wall and pulled cord, cutting power off to unit. Whirlpool called and they said unit out of warranty. Repair people stated the control to activate compressor burned and this was not the first one they had seen. They replaced unit with a older style and billed me. Whirlpool has recalled it's other brands for this problem but refused to do anything about it's Whirlpool brand. Same problem. I have retained failed part. Photo and copy of invoice sent to WhirlpooI and nothing heard back from them. I should be reimbursed for this failure and food loss and cleanup required. I think it's about time Whirlpool stepped up and recalled these units and repaired all of them.

Not backing their products, poor quality
My fridge broke down on April 13, 2011 and sent a service request on April 14, 2011. The technician arrived on April 22, 2011 and performed the diagnostic of the problem. He determined it was the Inverter-Box (Part #W10186719) was the cause of the malfunction. However he was unable to verify the status of my factory warranty.

The fridge order was placed on April 7, 2010, and the shipping company's "Bill of landing" shown a delivery date of April 13, 2010. Which was exactly one year from the date of delivery to the malfunction. I would like to know if Whirlpool still honor the warranty based on the delivery date or purchase date? Since owners should not be responsible for anything happened prior to shipping.

After calling whirlpool customer service, the lady just simply telling me i'm SOL and they cannot do anything. Apparently not willing to back their products up. How can a fridge break down just one year after warranty. Sounds like deliberate poor quality job from whirlpool!!!

Whirlpool Duet Washing Machine
My 4.5 year old Whirlpool Duet washing machine needs to be replaced or I can spend approximately $1300 to have it repaired. The bearings, tub and basket all need to be replaced. I contacted Whirlpool and they offered no assistance whatsoever. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect an expensive washing machine to last longer than 4.5 years. I realize that over time appliances require repairs but this is a major repair and given the cost to repair we are better off buying a new washing machine. I am disgusted by Whirlpool's lack of customer service.
