price match policy
I purchased a Whirlpool front load washer and dryer from Bray and Scarff in Oct. 2009 on the premise that they have a 75 day price match policy. Several weeks later I visted ApplianceLand in Annapolis only to discover that there everyday price was over $400.00 cheaper. Upon contacting my saleman I was informed that I needed a quote to prove that I was not lying. First of all I do not lie and nor will I ever deal with this outfit again. Shortly after I cancelled my order and had both units delivered from ApplianceLand with great service from there delivery crew. If you want the best price than stay away from Bray and Scarff and there untrue price match policy.

Microwave Oven Door Cracking
We built our house in 2005. Both of us are retired and were told that Whirlpool was the best. Therefore, we purchased all Whirlpool Applicances. Our Microwave Oven is hardly ever used and now has a "hugh" crack from the side of the door, protruding all around the handle. Also, chips of plastic is falling off the corners of the door. I called Whirlpool and they said I need to purchase a new door for the microwave. After checking, the door cost more than a new microwave. We had a microwave for 20 yrs. and never had one problem. We have decided to replace it with a new microwave but for sure, not a WHIRLPOOL. I would never, never recommend their products to anyone. We will never purchase any of Whirlpool products. Four years and another oven to be replaced that has never been abused. Guess the stove and refrigerator will be next. Their products are terrible and I will NEVER buy another of their products.

faulty product of whirlpool<br />
I had bought a double door 410l fridge in the last week of march 2009, and from the very first day it is troubling my faily too much, it was not installed on the the day when I had bought it because it`s compressor was faulty only after replacing the compressor after two days it had started.My family said me to replace the fridge but I thought that now it will work properly and did not ask the dealer(my friend)to replace it.But I am facing with a very serious problem from the 10th day of its installation.Water is comming inside the fridge and destroying the things kept inside it.I am regularly complaining but no body is ready to listean, twice the person from the service centre visited and simply tightened or loosened the foots fitted in it and told that we have adjusted the level of the fridge and problem is solved, but till date it is same .Now I think that we have wasted money for it because of very poor response and faulty systems of company.I am going to take strict action against company and want to request the pepole of India to ignore the product of Whirlpool.I am writting this mail from Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala(Punjab) and in the service center in Kapurthala there are no engineers to rectify the problems of people.The person who repairs a bicycle in a private shop is better than the engineers of whirlpool in Kapurthala.

Service
I bought in May a Whirlpool Microwave. After one month there was some technical snags, but still working in some way. There the first complaint was issued but no reply. In September the electronic touch front panel was not working and send back to dealer. A complaint was immediately send to Whirlpool but after that the service center have simply ignored any complaint and now 3 month later Whirlpool have not picked up the microwave for repair. I must say I will never buy Whirlpool again where I have lost RS 13.000 as I never expect them to take any action on this. The dealer have now taken a good decision where he will not sell any more product from Whirlpool.
If any want to have a good service then buy LG products.

Defective Electric Range
I purchased a new electric range directly through Whirlpool by telephone. It was delivered on October 13 but because I needed an electrician it was not installed until Friday the 16th.
I made a pot of soup that afternoon and did not use it again until Sunday afternoon. I turned on the oven for the first time to preheat for pizza rolls and had read in the owners manual to expect a bit of smoke and foul smell.
When the beeper sounded for up to temperature I opened the door and a bit of smoke and a funny odor came out but I was not concerned. As the pizza rolls heated the smell was getting quite obnoxious so I opened the oven after they had been in for 9 minutes. Black smoke rolled out and the fumes choked me. I grabbed the pizza rolls and closed the door, then turned it off. As I grabbed the pizza rolls I noticed some type of bubbling liquid on the bottom of the oven. So after the stove began to cool down and I had some of the fumes out by using my attic fan I opened the door and inspected the oven. There was dripping stuff that looked like hot plastic or silicone sealant it was still wet on the oven bottom and beginning to turn white in the areas of the oven it was cooler on. After a complete cool down I could see a cloudy plastic like substance down the back, both side walls and the front door. It was in globs on the oven racks. I called Whirlpool immediately that day (Sunday afternoon) and was told a service man would arrive Tuesday afternoon. I explained that a service man could not fix this that they would have to replace this defective stove. He insisted to let a technician look at it

The service man from whirlpool arrived late Tuesday afternoon and he agreed that the stove should be replaced but he said “we’ll see what they say” and got on the phone to a lady in a whirlpool office. He explained to her about the plastic and she put him on hold. The Tech switched to speaker phone while on hold so I heard her when she came back came back to say “tell the customer to run the self clean and burn out the residue” When I heard her I said “I don’t want to burn that off in my home I want another stove” The tech relayed what I said, the lady then said we are not send another stove tell her to run the self clean. I again said “No! Just take it back, I want a refund”
He took her off speaker phone, told her what I said and after a minute he hung up. He again said what she told him to say, that I should run the self clean, and I again said I did not want to but since I had no choice I would try. I turned it on while the technician watched. He finished his computer “paperwork” He said my oven racks were not usable due to the amount of plastic on them so he ordered two new racks for the oven
As the fumes were filling my house he gave men the number he had called and said that if this did not fix it or if there was anything wrong to “keep after them and make them give you another stove” and he left


The smell in my home became unbearable, I had both doors open and attic fan running and it was really bad. I called local fire dept and man said the fumes were highly toxic for my disabled husband and I so I called whirlpool again. This is Tuesday evening, after dark. I spoke with a couple of people, each time explaining what was happening and being put on hold, the whole time I am at my back door with air blowing in because I cant stay in the house. (we are in the Midwest, it was chilly)
Finally I get a supervisor who tells me to shut the stove down at the breaker immediately. I did. He then gave me over to someone else in safety dept who was concerned about if we were sick and did we go to hospital either time we smelled the fumes. I kept telling her “no, we had bad headaches and I have another one now, I want a new stove or my money back” but she said she had no control over that, someone will call me tomorrow.
Wednesday… no one called.
Thursday I called the number the technician gave me to plead for help. I was transferred and put on hold so many times… I ended up with the same person (Babs) that the technician had talked with. She said they would not replace the stove. She said the techs report says if I use the self clean that will fix the stove. I tried to explain about what else happened but she kept cutting me off and putting me on hold for long periods of time then come back and state “we are not going to replace the stove”
I said but mam please let me finish and she got very snotty and said “what ?” and I tried to explain that a supervisor in her company had told me to shut the stove off and she screamed at me “and our technician told you to run the self clean to fix it”
I tired again “but mam” and she again yelled at me, I said that the super told me to shut it down AFTER the tech was here. She put me on hold again and when she came back she said No again.
I tried again pleading with her. I paid cash for this stove, it was the first time it was used, it is obviously a manufacturing defect of some sort and I now have a brand new stove that I was told by your supervisor to shut down sitting in my kitchen that I can not use. What am I supposed to do.

Came back again and transferred me to a man named Jim, supervisor in safety dept and I had to explain it all again. This makes the 7 or 8th time and I was told by the person who connected me to Babs that all the information was already in the file but they made me say it all over again and by this time I was shaking and on the verge of tears.
Jim said “the stove works so we are not going to replace it”
I again went through the whole talk about how I now have a brand new stove they (whirlpool) has told me to shut down at the power source and not use because of the toxic fumes what am I supposed to do. With a smirk he said I could turn it over to my homeowners insurance!

Product Demo
We have boughts Whirlpool MAgicook 20C in Bangalore, India, bt no one has turned for demo yet. Its been more that one week now.
Also the service desk, each time people have different answerd and no one knows the right answer or coordinated. I have been calling them almost every day and now given up.
I would suggest that anyone buying Whirlpool should only do if they are comfortable in using microwave because later don't expect any service or a response form them.

no one had turned for showing the DEmo
sir we have purchased a whirlpool microven on 26-10-2009 since than we had calling the customer care for showing us the DEMO for the product. till date that is 29-10-2009 no one has turned to our place(bangalore) to show us the demo. they keep delaying telling that we will come tomorrow or within one hour.

poor service
This is brought to your kind notice that I(Jamuna of gummudipoondi, chennai) has been regularly complaining about the machine faults to customer care center which is situated in chennai from(28/8/09) to till date... I feel shame on you people that there is no response till now... is this the way you treat your customers?????? it has been very difficult for us to listen to the same old dialogues that "sorry sir/mam today definitely we will do and sorry for the trouble etc etc but there is no action taken till now"... after paying huge amount to you people i am washing my clothes daily with my hands is that required to me...

we have been regularly complaining about our problem to service care centers in chennai, but till now there is no solution for that so i am forcebly writing this letter to you... or else you yourself tell us to which higher authority do we have to complain about our problem so that it is solved... i guess there is no problem in the world without a solution... so better dont force me to complain it to higher officials...sorry to use such harsh words i am really fed up with your customer relationship... it has been nearly three months that we are suffering from the problem... The problem is regarding circuit board of the machine... actually so many complaints have been registered regarding this... the complaint number so far is 45015...well the contact number of the customer is 09940773608...will we be getting the same response again that tomorrow we will definitely do or today... please kindly avoid such words and do it in action... this is my humble request to you people...


And finally i would like to show you the details of the persons to whom we have complained and getting the same answers that "today we will definitely do it"...

Customer service lousy
Hi, I have bought my Whirlpool 'ice magic' 460L double door refrigerator in March 2005. The customer service is really sloppy. On Saturday Oct 24th we noticed that the refrigerator has stopped cooling spoiling our milk. We lodged a complaint via 60004558. The complaint number is 14545. the problem was supposed to fixed in 3 hours but nobody shows until after 48 hours. We are given few numbers to contact in the mean time which are all fruitless. The person comes checks on Monday Oct 26th at 3PM, says the freezer is working and I should check for 2 more days. I refused since 2 days have crossed since I lodged complaint and nothing better has happened but all my curds soured up. The milk spoils and curd sours again. I had to move my green vegetables to relatives fridge in another building. This service person says he will let his supervisor know and they will send somebody to clean some gas pipe. I don't understand, the service man who comes are not equipped to fix is it? How many people will evaluate before somebody actually fixes my problem. If the service person is not capable of fixing all issues why are you sending him? to harass customers further? Not at all happy with Whirlpool service. Will not recommend their products and will not buy their products in future.
Similar problem happened in Feb 2009 and replaced a bimetal- 455 part for Rs. 2000 + /-.

Refrigerator
Iam Amit Bhandari from Bangalore. I bought a double door refrigerator bearing serial no. INA081806087. On 11th of october I booked a complaint regarding no cooling and foul smell inside the fridge. the complaint number is 05675. a person came the next day and said the compressor got choked up and needs to be refilled. I asked him to refill and he said that an engineer will come and do the job. That was the day and today is the day, till now no one has turned up and nobody in your service deptt cares to attend my problem. Your customer care gave numbers of Muniraj (9243578037), prasad (9844724007), Anil (9243578003), Peter (9243578001) pertaining to my area. I called everyone but to no avail. They said Mr. Shankar has been alloted to service the fridge and he will call me, but he didnt. Mr. Anil is so busy that he has no time to answer my call. I called all the above persons several times and now i feel that i was a fool to believe your customer care promises that my problem will be resolved soon. My fridge is under repair since one week and nobody in your service deptt really cares to tell what and where exactly the problem is. Now the latest is they are telling that the compressor itself needs to be changed and the compressor is out of stock. Please let me know what your service deptt are capable of. If your so called service engineers cannot attend to my problem PLEASE let me know. So I that i can arrange to repair it from other source. PLEASE DONT KEEP ME IN DARK by making fake promises and dont give irresponsible answers. Please let me know that can your service people attend to my problem or not.

This is the first time i called up your customer care and all what i can say is IAM NOT SATISFIED WITH YOUR SERVICE.
