Whirlpool A/Cs are craps
Hi,

I had purchased a brand new Whirlpool split A/C (1.5 tonne), Whirlpool Mastermind deluxe about 2 months ago for around Rs 22, 000/-. It comes with a 1 year warranty on the indoor unit and a 5 year warranty on the outdoor unit. This unit was purchased in Chennai and is installed in my home in Chennai.

In less than 2 months purchase, the A/C stopped working. i.e., everything seemed to work, but the cooling was not there. I called the customer service and explained them the problem. They sent some service guys to our home the very next day. Those service guys examined the A/C and gave a report to the Whirlpool customer care that the Outdoor unit has a problem and has to be replaced. Those guys mentioned to me that the Whirlpool company will replace the outdoor unit in 3-4 days.

But I have been waiting for more than a week, no proper response from the customer care. They keep repeating the same thing over and over, "We have escalated your problem, they are looking into it. The Delhi Office will approve it and once we get the approval, we will deliver and install the new unit"
But they offer no ETA at all.

We are living with the kids living in a hot area (around 36C) without the A/C. The fans keep circulating hot air around us. We can't even have the windows open during the evenings for fear of mosquitoes.

I had purchased the brand new A/C just to avoid all these kinds of hassles. But this is what I have been experiencing!

My house owner had complained to me of the unusually large size of the outdoor unit and the terrible noise it makes. He asks, "Do you want the people in your neighborhood to sleep peacefully or not?"

He suggested to me to go for "Good" brands like Onida, Samsung etc. He has been having a Onida for a few years now. It is as noiseless as an indoor fan. very compact and beautiful. The room chills within 15 min.

I know Whirlpool is the leading Home Appliance maker in the world. Whirlpool US's top of the line models are awesome (I had lived in the US for the fast 5 years and used some of them). But Whirlpool India is crap. Just take a look at their product manual and you will know. They can't spell anything correctly. No grammar, no proper pictures... products are made of cheap plastic.

Overall judgement:

Whirlpool India Product: Total Crap
Customer Service: Crapy
Price: Exorbitant for the piece of crap they are providing

DO NOT EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL INDIA PRODUCT IN YOUR LIFETIME and PASS THIS MESSAGE ALONG TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND ACQUAINTANCES

Poor repair services
Our whirlpool fully automatic washing machine model H-65 is under maintenance contract. Of late it is becoming unserviceable at short intervals. On 27 Sept.09 it became unserviceable again and on 28.09.2009, I complaint about this to the customer care. I was given complaint No. KL0909011202. Mechanic who visited to repair the machine was not in possession of the part (PCP) that needed to be replaced. I was told it will take maximum two days to repair my machine and customer care will keep me informed about the progress on my complaint.
It is sad that customer care never contacted me to inform about the progress. It is I, who has to contact them every time. They have only apology to offer for the delay in servicing the machine and extend the expected date for the repairs. Till date the machine is not re-paired. This is a classic example how a good product by established company may earn bad name due to poor after - sell repair and maintenance support service. I hope whirlpool will look into the matter.

split ac not working
my wirpool ac complaint is not being resolved dispite of numerous complaints to the service center.all the call center people just try to make fool out of you by giving false commitments and unjustified excuses.i have been complaining from last 4 months for compressor tripping.noise, swing not working, remote problem but to no wail on deaf ears of the company.none of the companies senior executive comes forward to attend the complaints of the consumer like me
i request the company to please resolve this porblem as

semi functioning
dear sir, I would like draw attention towards the poor services the whirpool india. we are having 260 ltr fridge whose compreesor got failed. then it was repaired by company service man and for that charged Rs.1400.00 . within a few days my fridge again getting some problem i.e. slow cooling and functioning at 25% efficiency which service man agreed .he said that he forgot to repair that thing previosly so now he had repair it again and willbe charged again i.e. refilling gas charges. 2 times gas filling within a month is a juistice please help. -SAGAR MAHESHWARI my cell 98292-30154 . land line 02908230154. my adress - station road amet-313332 om

Terrible quality products
I recently bought a Whirlpool gas dryer. One day, without warning, the dryer would not go into the drying mode once you pushed the button even though you could hear the power going on.

I called to get repair service for my warrantied product but they do not have an opening till next week. They gave me a number of a local repair service and they said they wouldn't be in my area for two weeks.

On top of that the person who answered the customer support line told me that it's not a perfect world and not every product is perfect after it comes out of the factory. What a way to instill consumer confidence. I am buying a competitor next time.

Faulty service provided by the company
i have a complain against WHIRLPOOL faulty service to the refrigerator which i puchase 7 months back.
just after purchase fridge is showing lot of manufacturing defects like water leakage, not sufficient cooling etc
i have complain about it to the customer care of the WHIRLPOOL but they r not giving proper response to our complain

rear bearing
Had a technician in to repair front load washing machine he stated that it was the belt and rear bearing serail # XC44011670 was the problem and it has been reported as a general defect in the Whirlpool front load washing machines and that Sears guaranteed it for 5 years. Sears wants to charge $75.00 for a a technician to come in and diagnose what they already know is the problem and still charge of the service call before they will order the part.

Microwave Repair & Customer Service
I bought a Whirlpool microwave from Whirlpool in September 2008. Within six months of buying the product, the inner sheet of the oven got burnt and the microwave vessels melted.

We raised a complaint with the Whirlpool Customer Serive in February 2009. The complaint was forwarded to a service centre in Trimulgherry, Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh.

The engineers visited us on more than 6 occasions, but tuill date they have not replaced the inner sheet. When we called the service centre the manager there was extremely rude and said that he does not have stock and to complain wherever we wanted to.

The oven has been lying in the kithen just a showpice now as any Microwave Vessel that is put inside is melting off.

So please take strong action against the Whirlpool to get the Oven itself replaced.

INVERTOR IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY
WE HAVE RAISED OUR COMPLAIN NO: KL-0709011894 DT: 30.07.09 & AGAIN KL-0809000224 & KL-0809000225 FOR OUR INVERTER TOP COVER OF AC MACHINE WHICH HAS NOT BEEN SUPPLIED TILL NOW WITH COMPONENTS AND ALSO FOR INVERTER WHICH WAS PURCHASE JUST BEFOR 2 MONTHS. INVER TOR IS NOT WORKING AT THE TIME OF POWER CUT. BATTERY TERMINAL HAS NOT BEEN SUPPLIED TILL NOW. FACING LOT OF PROBLEMS. SERVICE CENTRE IS NOT TAKING ANY CARE. AFTER RAISED COMPLAINED, NOBODY VISIT AT OUR HOME TILL NOW.
