nothing but problems
WARNING---do not buy a Whirlpool water heater. I have one that was new in 10/07 with a 6 year warranty. I have had nothing but problems, from my pilot light going out on more than one occasion to now it is leaking from underneath... and of course I have no hot water AGAIN!!!

Bogus AMC
I have purcahsed whirlpool refrig model 8057 on 04/08/2004. I entered into a two year AMC called " Peace of Mind Plan" in sept 2006 by paying rs. 2000.00 . They just vanished. It is a bigus AMC. There was no service nor Preventive Maintenance or phone call from the agency.
I request They should return my hard earned rs .2000 and come clean of AMC.
It was a bogus AMC to eat away customesr' money.
Please save us from such cheating AMCs Henceforth.

Refrigerator
Purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator in June 2005. In the first year noticed a large crack in the bottom floor of the freezer. Whirlpool stated that they do not replace any refrigerator only repair them. In April 2009 we were told the compressor had failed but the repairman only said it was the timer. We lost a freezer full of meat. In july 2009 we lost another freezer full of meat as the compressor has totally failed. We are waiting for parts. Also the crack is opening up again from a very poor repair job done in 2006. We had a fridge for over 30 years and it never failed. Kitchen Aid has not been a good product for us and We will not purchase one again.

Kitchen Aid is one of the only companies that do not replace a refrigerator.

tanks keep leaking and going out
My landlords have replaced a 40 gal whirlpool bought from Lowe's and evryone that has been replaced has gone out and started leaking water. Constantly heating since water is leaking out of tank. This is the 4th one in 2yrs...I have to pay the water and electric used when these tanks go out not to mention the aggravation of having to bother my landlords.

Can't be trusted
Be careful out there. It seems as if Whirlpool offers rebates on washer dryers and if something happens with the submission, they tell you that its too late to submit it a second time unless you respond really quickly. The Whirlpool agent told me that there is an expiration date on all rebates, even though customers submitted them properly and were lost at Whirlpool. I asked her how anyone other than employees and those shafted by Whirlpool are supposed to know this. Her only response "All rebates have expiration dates" Sounds like the IRS to me. If you submit a rebate, watch it like a hawk because Whirlpool will use this lame exCuse to back out of their obligation. My cost was $200.

Refrigerator 1 year old
I moved to Dubai in April 2008 and bought a Whirlpool refrigerator it is 1 month out of the guaruantee and has suddenly died. After having my previous Defy for 32years, I am obvciously very dissappointed in Whirlpool. To add insult to injury there are no Whirlpool Service centres or spare parts available in Dubai. How is it possible that These rubbish appliances are sold here if there is no back-up.

Dass Electricals
Two weeks back I’ve purchased a Whirlpool semi-automatic machine from Dass electrical, Aundh. It was delivered next day. At the time of delivery, water was seeping out of the carton and when I enquired about it, the delivery man plainly said all machines are tested before delivery and sometimes may have water remaining in the tub. I was not of the same opinion but could not do anything unless person from Whirlpool come for demonstration.
Next day a person from Whirlpool came for demonstration and while he was doing so, I noticed water seeping out from bottom of the machine. He was also clueless about the reason for it. I asked him to get me a replacement as I’ve not used this machine even for once and it has some inherent problems. At that point he agreed to me and called up at his office and informed about the issue.

Next day I got a call from Dass and they requested me to let their technician along with the whirlpool technician have a look at the machine for once and that it would help getting the replacement. Both these guy visited my place next day and despite been asked numerous times not to repair, opened it for repairing.
When opened, it was noticed that not only the water leakage was the problem but one of the electric part, which is usually tied with a screw, was hanging lose. Also there was some problem with the spin tub knob. That was enough to prove that machine was anything but new.

I called up the manager of Dass, Mr. Pradeep and he just kept of saying his men are helping me. I thought of complaining about all this at Whirlpool but all in vain as Dass and Whirlpool just kept shuttling the responsibility on each other.
I followed up, with Dass and Whirlpool both, numerous times for 10 days and the issue was never resolved. I was cheated by Dass electrical by delivering a faulty/used machine. As I’ve bought the machine by paying full amount in advance, even a stop payment was not an option left for me.

After having such horrible experience from Dass electrical, I swear I’d never ever buy a single thing from this shop and would like to suggest others also not to go for Dass Electrical howsoever good deals they offer.

Poorly trained technician&Very bad costumer service
Our Whirlpool washer had a drainage problem(it showed an error code on the screen and it says in the manual that's a drainage problem), and since we have warranty on it, I called the store we bought it from and they had us call the warranty company, Warrantech, which said an A&E technician will service us. It was Wednesday, April 16 2009 and A&E said the sooner they can come is Monday, April 20, so the appointment was made for Monday, between 8am-5pm, although I asked them to come in the mornng since I work the afternoons. The technician came on Monday at about 3:15 and started looking at the washer. He called me and told me that look you have a sock in the pump, having it in his hand and showing it to me, and that is not covered by the warranty. I said ok, but how much does it cost then? He said that he needs to look it up and let me know. He put the pump lid back on, ran an 11 minute drain/spin cycle and went outside for his computer. Came in, looked at the washer, said it's working good and that t will cost me $163 for cleaning the pump, that is taking my 8-month old's sock out of the pump. I was shocked.$163 for 3 min labor? He went to the computer and showed me how he punched it in and said that how it comes up, that he has to charge me $163 for a pump cleaning. I felt like I had no choice so I paid him. He left at 3:43 pm. I talked to my husband and he said the technician should've given me the price and then a choice if I wanted him to clean the pump or not before he actually did it. So I called the company right away and told them the situation, and that I am happy to pay the diagnosis fee which the guy I was talking to said it was $70 but I want the rest refunded. The guy said he'll put a note in and a billing representative will call me in 24-48 hours. That was Monday. I waited till Thursday and nobody called so I called again. The lady said that I had to call the warranty company. I called and they said it wasn't a warranty issue(which wasn't) and the cannot refund me and I have to call a&e and ask them for the refund. I called again and I spoke to a lady who said she was a billing representative and said they cannot refund me because at the moment the technician said it wasn't covered by the warranty I should've told him to stop, that I don't want anything done. However, when he was telling me that the technician had the sock in his hand, but as hard as I tried to make her understand that, she didn't get it, and said she cannot do anything about the refund and that the only thing that I can do is talk to a manager and file a complaint with him. I asked for a phone number, but she said she doesn't have one but a manager will call me in 24-48 hours. It was Thursday. I waited till Tuesday, April 28 and nobody called so I called back. The lady said the same story that I'll have to talk to a billing representative, I told her I did, and I want a manager now, so she said that she doesn't have a number and that she'll put a note in and a manager will call me back in 24-48 hours. THIRD TIME!!! It's Monday, May 5th today and nobody called so I called again and said I want a manager. The lady said that nobody I spoke with before emailed a manager and that she will email the local area manager and tell him to call me. I told her it was the 4th time I would have to wait for somebody to call me back. She asked me to give her a chance that she will have this solved for me. So now I have to wait till Friday and see what happens. I guess next time I won't call them again. I'll just call Sears or BBB and see what I can do. But overall, this company sucks. Their technicians are not trained to explain to costumers how things work, they're just in to rip off costumers, and this company's costumer service above all is worst I've ever seen. I hope they sink in with this bad economy. They don't deserve to be on the market. Anyway, I had a bad bad experience with them and I'll tell everybody I know not to use this company EVER.
