Bad product
Whirlpool gold Icemaker stops working - tech tells me entire new Icemaker is needed! $430.00 cost.

I refuse! I will never purchase another appliance made by Whirlpool - it's the typical story. They make Millions & rip you off with inferior products - while the CEO'S get rich.

All Customer Serv. could say to me was «Sorry you Icemaker does not work any more" what *** holes!

Meanwhile, my hard earned money has been wasted on an inferior refrigerator!

I bought in Good Faith & Got Screwed!

Why does this keep happening with no recourse for the Consumer? These Companies know that they can get away with producing & selling inferior products, the consumer gets 0 satisfaction to their complaints.

If you wasted your money, oh well.

Don't buy
Don’t buy whirlpool products. Or any smaller brand that whirlpool carries. The work environments in the plants are very hostile. I work in one of them and I wouldn’t buy my own product if that says anything. 95% of everything that goes out the door is incomplete or missing some parts or the wrong parts. The people here don’t care because they are treated so badly. Just yesterday I was threatened by my supervisor. He told me not to say any thing about the stuff going on here. Way I see it is if it keeps going on ill be out of a job soon enough.

Ice chute in door clogging up
I bought a new side by side on 02/11/2008 from Lowes and the Ice Chute has never worked properly since day one... The Ice chute keeps clogging up. I contacted Whirlpool and they gave me the address of a service company and He came out and said there is nothing that can be done for this problem... So every few days I have to take a long screw driver and stick up in the chute and bust the Ball of Ice so it can work for a few days... He said that the crusher is crusing the ice so fine that it will always build into a ball of ice... I would like for Whirlpool to address this issue...

Horrible washing machines and support
I had bought a Whirlpool Sensation EX fully automatic washing machine an year back. Ever since I bought this machine, we have been having problems with the machine. The service call center gives commitment that the service personnel will visit in a day, but no one visits even after 5 days. Recently we had an issue and after repeated complaints a service personnel came after 7 days of complaint. He repaired something after which there was some smoke that came out of the machine and got completely burnt!!! We are covered under AMC, and no one from the company is responding to our calls to repair/replace the same. We are thoroughly disgusted with their support and are planning to go to the consumer court to take action against them.

Fire
I purchased a Whirlpool MT 4155SPQ microwave, from Brandsmart in October 2007. On July 8, 2008 after putting a bag of microwave popcorn inside and pressing popcorn, I turn my back and hear a popping and sparks sound. I turned back to the microwave to see the inside on fire. I called a family member to turn the power switch off from the circuit box, with the power off I put water on the fire until it went out. I slipped on the water and injured my knee. After several phone calls I have not been able to speak to anyone at Brandsmart or Whirlpool. This microwave should be recalled.

Terrible customer service
Always problem with whirlpool service. They never respond to the customers and they bothered once the goods is sold. For any company customer care should be to the customer helpful or else its a waste of time giving pressure to their sales department.

I hate this stupid thing
I am just so angry about this brand new $2000 plus combination oven and microwave I could just scream. I have never had occasion to replace one of these, so I had no idea the 'questions' to ask--but bet you would never think to ask this either. "Does the oven make noise while you cook?" No, one would never know to ask this--but now you know. There is a fan that runs the entire time you use this oven. NO, it is not a convection oven. It is a regular oven with what is known as "Accubake." As soon as you turn the oven on, on comes a fan. A fan which not only makes noise but blows hot air out of the top and out of the bottom of the oven. Lovely. After you turn off the oven, the fan continues to blow until the oven is completely cooled off. I am talking OVEN and not MICROWAVE. That I would expect to "hear" - but an oven? Never. I called Whirlpool the 2nd day after installation-they said this is normal and ALL wall ovens now do this. They all have fans. A 'safety feature' for idiots who have left their ovens on and warped their cabinets, etc. Be sure you do not buy a wall oven (or any oven maybe?) without having a demonstration first. Buyer BEWARE. This is one annoying design flaw if ever there was one and I am STUCK STUCK STUCK with what I call the "singing oven." I was forced to give up my other combin. one because the microwave died. I miss it every time I turn this stupid thing on.

Never purchase from them
In June 2003 I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine for $387 ($410.22 with tax). In less than 5 years, I have now paid $403.73 in repairs on the machine - once for the agitator gears (12/19/2006), and TWO DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSIONS (07/27/2007 & 05/20/2008). The transmissions were covered under warranty, but for the parts only - I still had to pay for the service calls and the labor. This is outrageous, and absolutely unacceptable for a major appliance to have this many problems in such a short time. I sent a letter to Whirlpool headquarters on 05/20/2008 explaining the situtation, and that I felt I had purchased a "lemon" appliance. I asked for either a replacement machine, or reimbursement of the amount I paid for repairs. On 05/28/2008 I got a "Sorry, but there's nothing we can do" letter back from Whirlpool in return. On 06/17/2008 I sent another letter to Whirlpool stating that their response was unacceptable, and that I would be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which I did that day. Within 1 week, a representative from Whirlpool headquarters called me at my home, and first apologized, stating that they never saw my letter at headquarters. Strange -- I mailed the letter TO headquarters, Priority Mail, with a delivery signature, and received a letter BACK from them. Whirlpool offered me a pro-rated credit towards the purchase of a new washer, should I have any more problems within the next year. They figured the average life of a washer was 12 years, and since mine was 5 years old, they would give me 7/12 (or about $239) credit towards a new washer costing $400 or less. Strange again - Whirlpool THEMSELVES admitted that a washer should have a life of 12 years; yet mine that was just under 5 years and on its 3rd transmission was not a lemon, and warranted no action. I was not happy with the offer, but figured it was better than nothing, so I agreed. After thinking about it, I realized that would mean I'd have to pay another $161 for a new washer. So, $387 + $403 + $161 = $951 for a $400 washer. I decided that was NOT accetpable, so when the BBB contacted me to close the case, I told them I did NOT accept Whirlpool's resolution, and why. On 07/03/2008, the BBB contacted me again, stating that Whirlpool sent a rebuttal response, and that "The company has decided to stand by its original decision regarding your complaint". It seems that Whirlpool has chosen NOT to stand behind their product in my case. As such, I will never again purchase another Whirlpool product, and I would caution others about doing the same.

Replacement needed
Complaint was lodged regarding a crack in the body of the refrigerator produced by Whirlpool around a month ago. Nothing in this regard has yet been done, though I got a customer ID too, through which, I recomplained and again complained, but to avail... pathetic service.

Washer don't work
I bought a new front load washer from whirlpool and it worked well for about two and half months before it started having a mind of its own. The washer started coming on and off as if a ghost was in the house and we are not able to wash clothes because the washer would not stay powered up. Whirlpool has sent three different repair companies out to the house to repair this problem and neither of them could fix the washer. Apparentley the washer is defected and after many calls to whirlpool and now more than three months without a washer, they are still saying they can not replace it until it is completley unrepairable. I just recentley found out that whirlpool appliances has a repair only warranty and they will not replace it until all attemps to repair it is exhausted, even if it takes months to get parts in to try and repair it.. Its been over three months and counting and we are still having to go to a local laundry mat to wash clothes. You got me this time whirlpool, but I promise you want get me again.

Still disgusted and soiled
