I hate Whrilpool June 19, 2011
Whirlpool Refrigerator stops working twice in less than 3 years
We bought what we thought was a nice refrigerator from a good company, boy were we wrong. Less that a year after purchase, it stopped cooling so I called for warranty service. It took a week to get the service technician out to work on it, he listened to it and said it was a bad compressor, of course he didn't have one and would have to order it, and have it shipped to my house.

After another week or so, the part arrived at my house and I called to schedule service. It would be ANOTHER week before a tech could come out to install the part (yes this will make 3 weeks). The day the tech was supposed to come, they called and wanted to reschedule because someone had called in sick and they didn't have enough people to go around. At this point I pitched a fit and called the store that I bought it from and they got involved and helped to get someone out that day.

The people on the phone were always unfailingly polite and sympathetic, they just simply did nothing to help me.

Now, less than two years later, the stupid refrigerator has stopped cooling again. You guessed it - bad compressor.

I'll never buy Whirlpool products again, and I tell everyone I know not to. I also tell strangers that I see in the stores looking at appliances. And now I'm going to post my story all over the internet.

service complaint
I was lodging a complaint for the last one month with whirpool service centre regarding a fault with my refrigerator. On contacting my nearest service centre at tiruvalla-pathanamthitta district-Kerala state (telephone No.0469-2601444)the service centre staff asked me to to complain to the toll free number, and as per their information i registered the complaint with the centre and the complaint code issued to me was 00049.I have contacted the concerned service centre several times after registering the complaint and no one turned down to repair my applaince.At one occassion the service centre staff replied that the door was locked which was a usual reply to hide the negligence, since all the time two persons are available at my home. For this applaince i posses an insurance cover with the whirlpool which the service centre staff knows .Due to this irresponsible response I have lost the good impression which i have with this organisation. So I request you sir, to take immediate steps to rectify this fault.

Complaint not being attended
Three times I had made complaint vide complaint No. GB0610010673, GB0610013326 and GB0710000663 since 23rd June, 2010 but none is attending to my complaint and the call centre all the time says that they are referring the matter to higher authorities, In Meerut, the dealing officials/engineers are not worried to attend the compalint.

Malfunctioning ice maker
After purchasing a whirlpool refrigerator with an in door ice dispenser within a week it froze up and would not dispense ice. I removed the ice bucket, un jammed the ice floe and continued using it. Within another week the same thing occurred. Again I unjammed and continued using. Then it happened again and the dispenser actually fell into my glass. I called the local store where I purchased it and he set me up with his whirlpool tech to come look at it. The tech called to set up the service call and asked if we were using the crushed ice feature. I said yes because that was one reason that we purchased the appliance because of that feature. He said that was why we were experiencing the problem. He came and unjammed it and replaced the dispenser and said that he had many calks about this feature and unfortunately he could only recommend not using the crushed ice because the leftover ice melted in the dispenser and ten refroze to cause the blockage. So why hasn't Whirlpool done anything to alleviate this problem. Now i'm stuck with a feature that I can't use and would not have purchased this particular style and model if I had been aware of this problem

COMPRESSOR FAILURE
Our whirl pool refrigerator (Model : FF 350L:Product id:12763 350L ICE M ELITE) purchased on 3..10..2003, is not functioning from 17th April 2010. We informed our near by customer service centre(AGS home care, Near IOB, MC Road, Kuttor, Thiruvalla ). The service personnel inspected and found its compressor (Compressor No. TP10HF225259502F0303) was out of order. Since the compressor warranty has not expired, he guaranteed to rectify it within two three days. But even after 3 weeks, the problem is not solved. We were continuously contacting them about its status. Its compressor was Brazilian make, and service centre people are now trying to replace it with an Indian make compressor, for which they say some of the boards (like defrosting circuit board ) all require to be changed. We exactly require a Brazilian make compressor itself, for which warranty was assured by whirl pool. Kindly consider these factors and find a solution for our problem at the earliest.

Bent near the compressor. Replacement to be done
I have purchased new Refrigerator from the show room on 11-10-09.
Company authorised Representative came for demonstration. He observed there is a bent near compressor. He has recommended to replace new fridge. So far the company has not taking any steps.

Very Bad After Sales Service
My Whirlpool refrigerator conked off on thursday 24th of September 2009. We made a complaint to the call centre and were assured that an engineer will come home the next day to check the fridge.

The engineer did come home the next day. He checked the refrigerator and informed us that the compressor is blown and that the fan will need to be replaced and gas refilled.

We were assured that this will be taken care off on the coming Monday inspite of it being Dasshera. On Monday, no one turned up.

We informed the call centre and were assured that the complaint will be taken care off on Tuesday. No one turned up on Tuesday too.

We called the Call centre and asked to speak to the manager. We were informed that it is against company policy to disclose the name of the manager. So we spoke to a supervisor by the name of Dharmesh who very confidently guarnateed, I repeat guarnateed, that the fridge will be repaired on Wednesday.

We waited till late Wednesday, all the time calling the call centre to inform them that the engineer had not yet called up. Ultimately in desperation I called and asked to speak to Dharmesh. After making me hold the line for 10 minutes he comes online and LIES to me that the engineer is on his way. When we still did not recieve a call till around 7.30 PM I again called the CC and asked for Dharmesh. This time around I was informed that he had left the office.

I asked to speak to the supervisor on the floor. I was informed that one Naina will be calling me.

Today is Thursday, I still have a broken fridge with no engineers visit.

As of today, not a single Whirlpool appliance will ever enter my house for the rest of my life.

poor service/spare back up
I have double door 320 litre refrigerator model code 4953. i lodged complaint with customer care of whirlpool ( complaint no 11326 dated 3/4 aug 09) about no/reduced cooling in the fridge. Initially one engineer came(Anil). He ripped open the freezer and informed us that temperature bulb was faulty. Next day another engineer came and said that in adition to bulb, the bimetallic cut out/cut in was also faulty. Needless to say that both spares were not available at Visakapatnam. The spares were requisitioned from hyderabad. Till todate (ie 02 weeks later) spares are yet to come. reasons given are of various types a) defect wrongly diagnosed hence incorrect spare ordered b) spare despatched by courier, not yet recd c) spare recd but not completly d) spare recd but wrong spare has arrived.
Local whirlpool service centre totally clueless about the spare availablity/status. Engineer "Anil" doesnot pick up cellphone/switched off. Mr Ramana, service in-charge, appeared to be reasuring but not convincing about the spare availaibility. His cellphone also invariably busy/kept on hold/keeps ringing with no response/ switched off ( between 8 pm and next day morning about 10 am). Nobody calls back even if missed call is seen on the cellphone. i have decided to take the company to consumer court and will make them pay for the mental harrassment, agony and unpleasant situation at home. Such companies should be taught a lesson and good one at that.

cost of repair
The cost for the service was very expensive, the technician was only at my home for 1/2 hour, it was only a clogged water line. No parts were used. Icalled to question the outragous charge and the Owner of the company was very rude and would not reduce the charge.
MY ADVICE..DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.
