I first went to these apartments on September 20 2010, I believe. Glenda was very nice to me and I trusted her. She took me to their "model" apartment and I was struck with how lovely it was. I asked if I could see the actual apartment and she said it was not ready and they are not permitted to show a dirty apt. I was very exited and went and got a money order in the amount of $100 to hold the apt. I receive housing assistance and my voucher was due to expire in less than a week. I had high hopes for moving there, it was close to a freeway that I regularly take to work and it was close to my mother's house. I was tired of looking and this looked promising. I called Wednesday and asked if I could see the apt and was told it still was not ready. I called again Thursday Sep. 23rd and she said I could come on Fri in the afternoon-the unit was ready. I worked that day so I arranged to come Saturday. This is where everything went wrong. She could not find the key and had to constantly call the maintenance guy. They finally found the key and she let me go to the unit alone, which I found out later was something she should not have done. She told me that they had a roach problem and they should be done when I move in-when I heard that I was thinking (IF I MOVE IN!!) When I opened the door, a very foul odor like urine and musty mold hit my nose. I saw the dead roaches and holes in the wall, peeling paint and the water heater was in the master bedroom closet. The linoleom in the bathroom was peeling up and the kitchen was terrible. Many, many bad stains in the carpet. Holes in the cabinets in dining area. Outdated appliances... I knew this would not work. My mother was with me and she became very upset. We went back and told Glenda that unit was not ready. She kept saying she had not seen it but the other girl Angelica had walked it and reported it was fine. We left soon after that. Me and my mom went back on Monday and spoke to Angelica and told what had happened Sat. We did not tell her that Glenda had said she had Okayed the unit. Angelica said she had not seen it (SO WHO IS LYING HERE) and apologized. I was done with the lies. I told her I did not want to rent from them anymore. She went to get the manager who told me I would not get the $100 dollars back. I told her based on my first impression and the fact that I was lied to that really was not fair. I basically snapped and stormed out. I want everyone to know what type of people they are. If I had seen that unit I NEVER would have given them my money. They are frauds DO NOT TRUST THEM. I learned to make sure that I see the unit before I give them any money. I feel like this now, if someone else come to get that unit them I was not ment to live there, but I will not give anyone else money without seeing that unit first. I don't care how long it takes. They did not at any time tell me it was non-refundable. And here is the kicker people, the MANAGER told me herself that she could not understand why they had me ready to move in because she still showed the unit as not ready in her books. AGAIN I ASK-Who is LYING HERE!!!
