I received a letter from this organization stating that my son had been nominated to be in the Who's Who Registry for Academic Excellence. I was instructed to go to their website and complete information about my son. We did that and a couple of weeks later I received a letter stating that he had been selected to be listed in their publication. There was no cost for him to be included in their publication but if you wanted a copy of the book they were publishing you had to order it from them. There was an enclosed order form and myself and my family orderd over $200.00 in book copies from them. That was in May of 2009. They stated that the books would be published in December 2009 and we should receive our copy shortly after that. In December I received a letter from them stating that there was some problems with the publication and that the first shipments would go out in the next 6 to 8 weeks. It is now April 21, 2010 and I still haven't received my order. I have tried to call the number but no one answers the phone and all of their mail boxes are full. Their website is down and has the following message " Due to the current economic conditions that persist today, AWWA has ceased operations. We are working to fulfill all outstanding orders at this time. Please check our website periodically for further updates." I have seen several posts on the internet stating that others have been scammed by these people as well.
