Is anyone else out there experiencing discrimination in the hiring process due to bad credit history? In today's economy with so many people out of work and due to circumstances beyond their control, have incurred the inability to make their credit card payments, pay medical bills, are in foreclosure, etc., we are being treated as a criminal element!
Employers at least in the Tampa Bay area of the State of Florida are using credit histories to make employment decisions. They are overlooking potentially the best candidates just to hire someone with no credit dings.
We should not be judged by our credit history. If an employer is concerned about hiring someone, it should be based on a criminal background check and not credit history.
I have written the Senator for my district and urge others to do the same in their respective states.
Thanks for letting me vent!
