I have been a WildBlue internet customer for almost 2 years. I have never received the minimum download speed that I signed up for. Last year I attempted to explain the problem to customer service on more than one occasion. They were only interested in getting me to upgrade my service plan. After calling technical support more than once they said my modem needed to be reset at their end, and my speed improved for a short time. (They have also said it was due to "bad weather close by" even when it was sunny here. When it started to slow for the umpteenth time, I called back and was told it was due to the number of people on the internet. A few months ago my speed slowed so much that I was leaving my computer on all day and night to download and upload. I received a warning and then a violation notice for exceeding the band width usage. It happened a second time and I upgraded my account to the $79.99 a month because I couldn't even load my email page! My speeds have always been lower than what I was paying for, and the so-called minimum speed guaranteed does not exist. After receiving a second notice of "approaching the limit" of my band width, (which was only 80-82% of the amount I was paying for! I guess they don't want you to use all that you pay for!), I monitored my usage as well as my speeds, using multiple sites. As I suspected, my average speed is 330kps download, and I am paying for 1.5Mbs. After contacting customer support and technical service, I was told my average download speed is 1.3Mbs! They said it is documented on March 31rst! Then today, June 2nd, they tried to tell me (1)I am in violation at 82%, and(2) there is something wrong with my dish, "probably due to a wind storm", and said they could do a service call for $99. This is because it is the only way for them to get more money out of me. There have been no strong storms here since winter. I have learned the following over the past two years: Their internet service is terrible; They are dishonest and will try to get as much money out of you as possible.

I am thankful that my contract ends in 2 months.
