Had furnace (forced hot air) serviced last fall. Three days later the heard horrible noise. WMS serviceman told me the powervent was demolished and it had nothing to do with the maintenance service they provided 3 days early but was caused by the system. A system they installed because of a problem with combustion. Actually was given three different explanations. Ended up paying $330 for a new motor after i had just paid $250 for maintenance.
Jan 1, no heat.
Jan 2 WMS said no problem with the system then on further investigation a nozzle was damaged; wanted to charge $89 service call plus a charge for the nozzle. Had to speak with the manager. charges waived. Nozzle replaced
Jan 5 no heat
Jan 6 called WMS, I pressed reset and system came back on.
Jan 7 no heat; made appt to have some one come out Friday Jan 9
Jan 9 WMS service man; equipment check out okay; nozzle damaged(he wasn't appear nozzle had been replaced) then stated burner housing was leaking oil, unit was starting to soot up; found Z demnsion to be out of adjustment causeing impingement. Corrected problem.
Jan 10 no heat, called WMS told to reset furnace
Jan 11, no heat; unit locked out 3 times ;' had to reset; last time only blowing cold air; told by WMS serviceman on call that I can reset unit as often as possible; and that if he came out I would have to pay service charge because the problem is the same and intermittent nature of the problem. According to him, it's not WMS fault the problem is recurrent they should receive a service charge plus each time they come out. This story is still unfolding. But this company caused the problem now can't fix it and want to charge me for their incompetence. Additionally I am living in a cold drafty house with children. They don't seem to care about that.
