Misrepresentation
I was looking for a Porsche RS America and going through a friend who is a car dealer and broker to purchase one. We found a 93 RS America being offered for at a major auction in Los Angeles. It was being sold by a bank, as a repossessed vehicle. I was quite interested in the vehicle as these are very rare cars, but the price was a bit too steep for my tastes as bidding increased given the condition and announcements of the car. Windy City Motorsports purchased the car via the internet, outbidding all of the buyers who actually attended the auction and inspect the cars prior to bidding. Windy City seemed to choose the route of bidding sight unseen on a AS-IS Porsche. While this alone comes off as a very reckless practice as car dealer that artificially inflates prices well above what they should sell, this isn't even my biggest problem with this business. They actually had to push the car through the auction block cause they said it smoked too heavily to start up. Nothing out of the ordinary if a dealer buys a vehicle with major issues to tend to, just as long as the issues was repaired or disclosed to any retail buyers. The big issue I have with this business is the blatant misrepresentation of the cars history. The biggest of which is the mileage. This vehicle was announced at auction as having an inoperable odometer and speedometer. I did a Carfax on this car and the recorded mileage over a 3 year period was stuck at 83, 330. This is a big deal as the car must be disclosed the seller as a "True Mileage Unknown" vehicle which seriously affects the its value. Windy City made no mention of this disclosure in its advertisement of this vehicle and I doubt also to the retail purchaser of this Porsche. This is not only a very unethical practice for a used car dealer but also cut and dry illegal. It shocks me that a used car dealer of this size and presence would hide such major value affecting conditions of a car they are selling. Beyond this, in their advertisement of the 1993 Porsche RS America, they claim "100% Stock & Never Raced Or Modified", when they have absolutely no idea of the car's history cause they purchased it at a car auction, and more than that it has visible modifications such as aftermarket wheels and lowered suspension. I understand car dealers maybe trying to get a buy to overlook minor issues and imperfections in selling used cars but this blatant misrepresentation of such a vehicle by this dealer is just too much to be ok with

Scam and fraud
Do not Buy Cars From Windy City Motorsports in Schaumburg, Illinois . I recently Purchased a 2001 Porsche 911 996 Carrera From them Online and what I received was a piece of junk that it wasnt worth nothing, BEWARE Of Gary, The guy seems to be a really nice guy on the Phone and will tell you plenty of lies about the conditions of the cars they will try to sell you, Not even half of the Information he described was accurate or True and once you receive the car, their phones go dead, No answer and no replys, Im located in Miami, After they told me that the car was like brand new and in Mint excellent condition when I received the Car the first thing I noticed was the Cheap Overspray paint over the Front Bumper and Hood, The Battery was dead on the car, Wouldnt even start, The Tires where super low on pressure and when I finally was able to start the car I heard a loud ticking Noise on the engine, after further inspection I had a Certified Porsche Tech look at the car and confirmed my worst fear, A BLOWN ENGINE, He told me that he was sure they knew the car had a blown engine as the noise in the engine was really loud and that they probably put a dead battery on the car on Purpose so I couldnt hear the engine before the Car delivery carrier was gone . After Numerous calls and attemp to resolve the problem, Gary was nowhere to be found and again phones went dead . BEWARE Of this SCAM ARTISTS, The sell Expensive Cars that are not in the Condition as advertised, Im now stuck with a 2001 Porsche that will cost me more than $4, 000.00 in repairs. BEWARE OF WINDY CITY MOTORSPORTS IN SCHAUMBURG IL, DO NOT BUY CARS FROM THEM ONLINE, GO AND CHECK THE CAR IN PERSON, YOU WILL BE SURPRISED TO FIND OUT THAT THE "CARS" THEY SELL ARE NOT CLOSE TO THE CONDITION THAT THEY ADVERTISE TO BE, ALSO CHECK CARFAX ON YOUR OWN AND NOT FROM WHAT THEY SAY .
