ripping off the disabled
My girlfriend who has a learning disability was called several times yesterday regarding her alleged 4.5 million dollar lottery winnings. All she had to do was send Damion Webster at 7 duke st. Portland, Jamaica first $99 then because she didn't right away $199. I have been back and forth to hospitals for a terminal illness, and all she cared about was winning this money to pay for my life saving medications that I need. She was devastated to learn that not only was she not a real winner, but that they had tried to take what little she had been able to collect in donations towards this. He also claimed the team was ready to leave and would bring her check within 30 minutes once the payment was made. The cell # he gave for himself to attempt to prove it wasn't a scam is 1-876-385-1463 About 10 minutes later he called back to see if she had already run off to get the funds to send the money western union to them, I answered and he said it was about some college books she was interested in when I attempted to take a message for her. I called him on his BS and told him she isn't in nor is she planning on going to college. When I demanded to know what they really wanted from her he first played stupid and I could clearly hear someone whispering to him in the background, when I said I was the one controlling the bank accounts< so she had no personal access to the accounts he abruptly hung up on me. She had unsuspectingly already given my cell phone number and honestly I can't wait for these people to call us back. Preying on the disabled and severely ill is sick and twisted. they should be caught and prosecuted if not worse. This is a horrible international scam designed to prey on those in need, and they need to be stopped quickly.

Sweepstakes winning claim
A heavily accented man called yesterday afternoon to inform us that we had won a $750, 000 cashiers check and a Mercedes car if we would call a Las Vegas number and provide a claim number (101BN) that he gave us. We also had to go to a local CVS or Walgreens pharmacy and purchase a $500 "green dot" card and then call back to provide serial numbers to prove that we had purchased the card. While I was on the phone with the caller today when they called back to see if I had gone to a CVS he told me that I was being recorded. I have no intention of going to a CVS.

bogus sweepstakes
They called 12 times Mar 21, 2011 from 877-879-5511. Finally answered around 11:30pm. Heavily accented guy claiming to be Jim Johnson says we won a new Mercedes with my name engraved on the seats. After much round and round (as he was difficult to understand), he said he'd gotten my name/phone somehow through Wells Fargo/Bank of America. I told him to remove my name and number from his call list, which seems to have worked for the time being.

sweepstakes winner
I received a phone call from "American Winners International" claiming I was the monthly winner of a plasma TV and a $350, 000 certified check. He only wanted me to pay the $199 shipping difference via Western Union. And get this, 2 Federal Express guys AND 2 US Marshals would escort me to my bank to cash the check, at which point they would give me my $199 back. HA HA HA HA. I got all the information so I could report these guys to the police, BBB and who ever else I could, which my husband is doing right now. The guy could barely speak English, very thick Jamaican accent, broke up the phone number completely wrong when he gave it to me, and how convenient, it sounds an awful lot like an 800 number but it is not. 876 is a Jamaican exchange. Unfortunately they are in Jamaica and the US can do nothing about these guys since they are not in the United States. I hope people do not fall for this.

Wanting me to send them money and then they would deliver my 5.5.M to my home.
A man called me on my home phone, saying I had won 5.5
M. He gave me names to send $300 dollars to for insurance and delivery fee for my package coming by UPS, which he was going to deliver, along with the UPS man. He said when he got the money and I got my receipt, he would call me within 2 days and bring my check. Then I would hand the receipt over to him and be reimbursed for my $300 dollars. I told him I wanted a name of the company, which he finally gave me. He insisted this was not a scam, saying the Lord would punish him if it were. I told him I didn't know him and I wasn't sending any money to anyone until I checked them out. He also wanted the name of my bank accoount, which I didn't give him. I thought it sounded too much like a scam to do anthing like he said. Also, he had called in December, so I asked him how come to hadn't called back if I had won money. He said they had been working in different states and hadn't the time.

Winner International has called our home/small business phone approximately 20 times. I have asked, as my husband has, that we be removed from the calling list. When I asked why they weren't removing us from their calling list, the sales man explained, "Because I want to f--- you", then hung up. They have had the nerve to call back several times after that. When I called the number back, a child answered the phone. When I asked to talk to an adult, a woman that could barely speak English got on the phone and yelled and cussed, and said no, they would not take us off the calling list and they would continue calling. Is there a law against this harrassment?

Sweepstakes Scam
I have received 2 calls from Winners International. The first call was from Joe Oxendine who said I was one of three winners in a sweepstakes; that I had won a pearl white 2011 Mercedez Benz and $250, 000 cash. Geico is covering the insurance on the car and his company is paying all but 1% of taxes. My car and winnings can not be delivered to me on Monday, January 17 because it is a national holiday (MLK Day). He said they would be back in touch with me on Tuesday. Nevertheless I received a call today (January 17) from Joe who now says his last name is Oxenburg (!). He says that tomorrow I will be receiving a call from a Mr. Duncan regarding delivery. I am sure I will be asked to submit a fee before delivery of my "winnings." I plan to ask them for a tax ID number and call them out as thieves. Is anybody doing anything about this? Fortunately, I am savvy enough not to be taken in. But I am under heavy financial pressure and it is so tempting to hope, to believe. These people should be stopped.

SCAM
A man called stating that I had won a $5.5 M reward through filling out some coupons. I asked what company it was through and he said Winner International. I immdiately looked it up while I was still on the phone and saw it was a scam. He wanted to send me a certified check and needed my address. I told him that I knew it was a scam and he hung up the phone. BEWARE - if it's too good to be true, it's probably is!!

Constant calls, requesting money
A very' pushy, talkative woman keeps calling asking for money to release a prize of 3.5 million dollars. On the first call she wanted me to get $1500 and take it to the airport. I told her no that I was not going to the airport with any money. I hung up on her. She called back several times and I attempted to block her number, but she is apparently calling from a number that cannot be blocked by me. She called again this morning at 6:15 AM and woke me up. I told her NO again and hung up. She called again about an hour later and insisted on talking to me. She was very persistent. I am not going to send the money anywhere and expect to get some back in the mail. She claimed her phone line was based in Tampa Florida. Probably another lie. She had an accent that I did not recognize. This person refuses to understand the word "NO" This person from Winners International was very pushy, persistant, and irritating. She was insistent on getting her own way, which does not work with me. When I say "NO" I mean it.
When a person says they need the money to cover custom fees, that does not make sense to me. W'hat I saw was a scheme to get money from me, with nothing in return.

SCAM
I have been receiving phone calls from an unknown number for several days now. After ignoring them for two days, I decided to go ahead and answer the call one Saturday afternoon. The guy spoke with an accent, later recognized as Jamaican, and told me he was with Winners International. He said that they were ready to deliver me a prize of $450, ooo and a New Mercedes. I asked about the contest, and he told me the Oprah Winfrey was rewarding random people that had paid their bills on time. He explained that they were covering 95% of the shipping fees on the car, but I would need to take care of the remaining 5% (a sum of $299.00) in order to qualify for tax-free status. According to him, "President Mo-Bama" had approved that the winnings be tax-free under these conditions. I asked where he was if he was going to be delivering the prize, and he said, "We are right in your neighborhood".
I asked where exactly he was, he asked me to hold, and then he read out my address. I asked if he was in my yard, and then he replied no. I asked where he was then. Then he told me "at the airport". I asked "What airport?" He then said, "The airport in your city. What do you think?" I then told him that there was no airport in my city, and he tried to tell me that he was at the one that closest to my house.
I then asked him if he had been sitting there at the airport for a few days because I did not get a chance to talk to him. He said that he was in Las Vegas before, but he had flown in that day because he wanted to be there to deliver my prize. I then asked him again what airport he was at, and he could not name the airport. He could not even name the city that the airport was in, 20 miles from me. I then badgered him until he finally hung up because I did "not want to be a winner." I assured him that I wanted the money and asked if he would please just answer my questions. He told me that he was going to give the prize to someone else because I was doubting his honesty.
Two days later, I am getting a call from "his manager" and now the prize is $2.5 million dollars, but I have to pay $399 now instead of $299. This time the new guy (sounded just like the first) is at the home office in Las Vegas. That is because they had to store my Mercedes for a couple of extra days. I told him to let me run to the Western Union, and I would call him back. He gave me a number to call him back to verify after it was done. The number was 876-457-4924. It checks out as a number in Jamaica. I have caught these guys in so many lies and slip ups when I talk to them that it is ridiculous.
I have done nothing but laugh at these people because it is so obviously a scam.
