Theft of deposit
I cant walk easily right now, and Woodforest Bank is located right in the middle of the Super Wal- Mart., . I arrived at the counter with cash to deposit, It was less than $200, but I clearly recall handing the stack of 20s to the teller ..I couldnt believe a week later that I saw no sign of the deposit online ..It has caused me great trouble paying 3 bills (We had a home emergency here last month withj broken air conditioning, plus I had just gotten out of the hospital after serious burns.)I MAY have accidentally left my receipt on the counter, because when you are in the riding cart, it is often hard to see over the counter. I went back to the bank and asked them to go thru the receipts from that day I was in, hardly a week earlier, she claimed she did but said there was no sign of it.. After reading the complaints against Woodforest and the precarious current position of that bank, it is my hypothesis that that cash was taken and the deposit ticket nullified. When you cant trust your bank, its time to make a change..I intend to at the end of the month..

customer service
As I was standing in line waiting to be served, a customer service rep told another client who was leaning over the wall while in line, that she didn't have a cash drawer and could go as slow as she wanted while she was waiting on ANOTHER customer.I did not hear the guy who was asking her a question.What she said was said loud enough to be heard by other customers waiting in line!! After my business was done I pointed out to assistant manager that her employee should be retrained for making such a comment to another customer. She then came from around out of her booth to tell me it was none of my business! Actually she was very loud to me and others could hear her very well by this point.Because she sure made it my business when she allowed other customers to over hear her comments! I was then asked to leave. Her name is Tasha. Not to bright of a female to make such comments 'while on the job'.

wont cash my checks 2 week hold??
ive never been one for having banking problems like other people that have to use this bank and i feel sorry for those that do. This is the only bank that is open on the weekends in my area so i thought that i would open up a savings account with these guys so that when i got a check on fri. evening i could manage the money. I received a check from one of my money market accounts that i have with vangaurd investments in the amount of $4000.00(on a Fri.) and tried to cash part of it(700$) and put most of it in a savings account with woodforest bank the following Sat. The lady and the counter wouldnt even try to run it she looked at the check and told me there would be a 2 week hold on the check even though my banks (Royal Bank of Canada and BB&T) have always cashed or managed my checks immediately. Im not sure what the deal with woodforest bank is but it sounds to me from what ive gathered that they make money off of people that have no other choice but to bank with them. Looking @ the fees they have and their policies also the numerous complaints i can only say its a money making oper. that rips off the poor making them poorer thus hurting our economy even more. From what I understand even their cards are cheap and noone will take their checks--- so it sounds like a con to me and i feel very sorry for those that have had banking problems in the past that have to bank with these guys if you are thinking about getting an account with these people because of their hours DONT i would give them any of my money for them to make money off of I also will not support an outfit like this and noone else should unless they have no other choice. The only good thing anyone around my area has to say about the bank is that their hours of oper. are convenient. If woodforest would act more like a normal bank (instead of a cash advance service) and provide a better service to their customers they could corner the market with their hours and location in wal-marts worldwide. But they dont so They will never see me bank with them unless i have to.

not right
I recently had to close both of my bank accounts becaue of one of there employees. My ex is still working there looking at who evers account she wants to without their permission. she printed out copies of every check my boss wrote last year and gave them to me. Without him knowing and i dint even ask for them. She was constantly looking at my account and my friends accounts. did i mention she still works there.

stolen money
after the bank manager and an accomplice stole money from several accounts including ours, the bank refuses to return our phone calls or refund our money.there was an investigation (according to the bank) and the employee was arrested.our account was hit for over three thousand dollars and the bank wont give us our money back.what can we do?we have called the main office and visited the branch...no dice...now, our finances are in ruin and this money which would help pay our bills and feed our children, has been stolen by a dishonest employee first and then by the company she worked for.i need some help people...if anyone that reads this can offer advice please do.

stealing money /overdraft
Several months ago I opened an account with Woodforest Bank in Walmart to cash stimulus check. Now, three months later, they have taken over $700.00 out of my account for unknown fees. I am disabled and older, and the last 2 months I have received none of my direct deposit checks due to these fines. I have written checks to pay my bills and now they are not being honored by the bank, so I am facing homelessness. This bank is a fraud, they won't allow you close your account, and shame on Walmart allowing a business to rent on their property business. These people are theives...

Refused Service - Treated Like Criminal
I have been an account-holder with WoodForest Bank for almost 6 years. Over the last 5 years, my company has direct deposited from their payroll account into my account every 2 weeks like clockwork. However, when I went in to deposit 2 checks, both from my company and both from the same payroll account, I was asked a battery of questions about the source of the checks, the validity of the checks, etc. I answered each one, even though there was no reason for questioning. Additionally, the manager on duty was called over to ‘verify’ the checks before the deposit could be made.

I’ve never presented a check for deposit that was bad, and I’ve never asked the bank to assume responsibility for my checks by making funds available to me immediately. If they feel there is a question with the checks, they are well within their rights to hold the deposit until they get paid funds from the guarantor of that check.

I was allowed to make the deposit, but not without being questioned publicly about the validity of the checks. I was insulted to say the least. If I had dropped the checks in an envelope and deposited them through the ATM, would it ask me such questions?

Today marked the pinnacle of bad customer service. I presented a cashier’s check made out to my son, and the teller would not let me make the deposit. There is MORE than enough money in my account to cover the check in the event that it came back NSF, but that was deemed irrelevant. The only way I would be allowed to deposit the check is to have my son present, with his ID, “SO THE HE CAN VERIFY THAT HE ENDORSED THE CHECK OVER TO YOU.” Those were the exact words used by the teller!

I’ve had some bad customer service, but to be called a thief tops the list.

First of all, I’ve presented personal, hand-written checks for my son on numerous occasions and was allowed to cash them on the spot. This was a CASHIER’S CHECK for less than 10% of the amount that I currently have on deposit with the bank. I did not ask for the check to be cashed but to be deposited. Again, if they feel that there may be a problem with the check, they are well within their rights to hold the check until payment has been received. However, rather than deposit the check and hold the funds until it cleared, Woodforest chose to call me a thief and refuse me service until I bring my son to verify that I’m not a common criminal.

Come along son... Tell the nice lady that I'm not a thief.

I am a former customer of Woodforest Bank and was pleased to be one due to my overdrawn account at the time with Wachovia. They did in fact give me a second chance and stated to me that they did not use telecheck to open any accounts or report to them. Back in 2007 I lost my job and my account had become overdrawan and was told that they would close my account but would give an opportunity to bring my balance to a zero balance and would work with me to make small monthly installments. The manager was supposed to send me a plan to help me bring this down but never did. I later found that Wachovia was willing to put me back on the right track and remove me from telecheck, since then I reestablished another account with another bank and started utilizing my checking account privileges and was not denied to write checks at different retail stores until recently. When I called telecheck to find out why, they told me that I was in there for Woodforest Bank . I was very upset because I know that the debt was not forgotten but I received no notification from them to make things right and was not given an opportunity to start making goood on an old debt. SECOND CHANCE?! I think not.

Over Draft/ stuff on hold till moneys not there
Well for the last 4 months we ever week get 2 over dfart fees and we know the moneys in there. also we have funds tooken out that we know have been tooken out alreadt once

Failing to post deposit
Made a deposit for $50.00 2 day prior for a check for $46.00 was written. Depsoit was never posted causing over draft, countinuing overdraft and nsf fee totaling $110.00. Still have not recevied the $50.00 posting to my account. I have the deposit slip. There still looking into to. Time to find a new bank. I strongly recomened to stay away from wood forest bank. They are out to defraud you out of youre money. Don't believe them when they say you can get youre payrole 24hrs early with automatic deposit. Its a scam. Please call Stephaney let them know how much they suck.
