SCAM, SCAM, SCAM
On the morning of April 23rd 2009 I noticed a debit which I did not authorize for $72.21. I immediately cancelled that pay pal debit card. After researching the matter I discovered that the debit had been taken by Google Treasure Chest. I called and the customer service representative informed me that in the terms and conditions that I checked was mention of the company debited that amount from my card. I admit, I did not see that in the terms and conditions, all I wanted and could afford was the free DVD, which cost me less than $2.00 in shipping. Jessica agreed to give me a refund, issued me a cancellation number (042309-2618073) and assured me my money would go back into my account in 7-10 business days. I called Google Treasure Chest again on May 5, 2009, this time I spoke with Lyndsey another customer service representative who inform me that they were unable to process the refund and would need another card to place the refund on. I did as she asked and gave her another credit card number. On May 12, 2009 I called and spoke with another customer service representative and she told me my refund had been processed and it should show up in 7 to 10 business days. On today May 19, 2009, I called to check the status of my refund, and I was told by a very rude customer service representative that my refund was processed on the 23rd, of April and I would need to take it up with my bank. I try explaining to her that I was asked for another card number on May 5th, how could the refund have gone in on April 23rd? She released my call at this point (hung up on me). I proceeded to call back and spoke with a gentleman this time, again very rude and he told me-unless I have the original card in which the money was taken, I could not receive a refund. Why wasn't this explained to me the last three times I call? Well I know longer have that card because I had it cancelled on April 23rd, 2009 when I notice a charge of $72.21 had been taken from my card without my permission. He went on to tell me that I should not have done that and it was my fault, and there was nothing he could do about it. I offered him another card number, he say he could not accept it and I would be unable to get my refund. I asked that he mail me a check, he said that is just not what they do. I told him that I thought that they were scamming people and taken innocent people's money he said "everyone is entitled to their opinion". I ended the call and proceeded straight to the BBB. Sir or Ms, I feel that this company is taking advantage of people. I feel that they are one of the millions of scams out there on the internet. This is my effort to get my hard earned money back for something I did not want in the first place. I do hope my effort in bringing a questioning how Google Treasure Chest gives refunds or don't give refunds will also help someone who may not be able to put things in writing.
