World Moving Services Reviews

Fraud and scam
I used World Moving Services for a move from Florida to New York and they hit me with so many hidden fees, I am still paying for it. What they do is provide you what they say is an ALL INCLUSIVE 'NOT TO EXCEED' Estimate and then 5 days before you are picked up, they have their Quality Assurance department call you. That gives them an opportunity to charge you double the price for adding any boxes, extra pieces, or additional packing services. The minute you have ANY changes at all, thats when they hit you. Since they have a 5 day cancellation policy, if you get mad at the price, they get mad right back at you and then you can't even cancel your original service because you are within the window. Thats how they get you. By then, you are so close to the move that you are stuck using them or you lose your deposit. Since they are a 3rd party, they are keeping 75% of that cost and the actual moving company never see's a cent. The driver I had actually told me that they were a scam and thats the company that he gets business from.

My suggestion is to NOT trust the Better Business Bureau, and to NOT make any changes with the Quality Assurance department if you are unlucky enough to already have hired them. Not to mention that they have several other company's that they own under different names(Nationwide Relocation, WeHaul, American Van Lines, etc) and thats how they are able to get you too. If 5 company's that they own all contact you to provide quotes, then the chances that you use one of them are going to be about 80%. Please be careful, I don't want anyone to end up like I did.

Extra Charges without disclosing upfront
My home furniture/items and car were picked on June 14. 2008 My car was delivered two days later and had paid them a total of $1, 100 this amount included my deposit of $700.00. My furnitures had a delivery date of June 28th. Never heard from the driver until the first week of July and I was adviced that there were running late because they were still in DFW. I had adviced that driver not to rush because I'm just barely moving into my apartment. His respond to me was just call me whenever you're ready and we will deliver your items when your ready and never mentioned to me that he was going to charge me extra fees for keeping my items and never mentioned that my items were 900 pounds more. If I would have known that there were extra fees involved I would had him deliver my items as soon as possible. I was trying to be understanding and they took advantage of my kindness. One week after I called lamont and Dt and adviced them to deliver my furnitures and this is when they had added additional $1, 100 on top of my balance which was around $700.00. I disputed this with them and their respond was basically Fuck me I have no choice but to obey them cause if not I would never get my items back again.
Their manager Rick can be reach at 954-772-1610 ext.356 was yelling at me and said I have no choice but to pay the amount of $1, 700 versus what I originally owed them of around $700.00 Up to now I havent gotten my furnitures and they said that I owe them $2, 980.00 my items are still DFW

Resolution Sought: I would like for them to honor the original quote of $1, 800 I received from Mr. Tidona. My furnitures never arrived at its destination of Saint Louis Missouri. I had been in dispute with this company since June and Rick at above number basically told me to Fuck off and just pay the amount. He is a rude and unprofesional. He be littled me and took advantage of the fact that I am a single mom and have no one to assist me. I have been very stress and cant sleep at night. I dont know what to do help
