This company is charging me $49.98 a month for 20 months. This will be a total of $999.60. Then, I am supposed to get 60 more months of magazines after those 20 have been paid. I am supposed to be receiving 7 magazines which I can change to any magazines I want off of a provided list. However, I am only receiving 3 of them. One of them being Readers Digest and I received a letter in the mail this week from them telling me it is time to renew. When I first agreed to this scam I received a letter in the mail that stated "Order may be cancelled within 7 days of receipt of this letter by WRITTING (they spelled it wrong just like that) or calling customer service." So, I called over and over within those 7 days and the following months only getting the answer machine every time. I agreed to this in June 2009. Well, finally in January of this year I called one of the numbers shown on the automatic withdrawls from my checking account and a lady answered the phone. She said she cannot do anything about them not answering. And, While on the phone with me she said this: "Remember mam, NEVER agree to anything on the phone because it is all just a scam." SO, she told me they were scamming me. She said that I could cancel my account with her at that moment because they were switching banks and my information had not been transfered yet. But, in order to do that I had to pay half of what I still owed in one large lump some at that moment. It was going to be around $250 which I couldnt do. She also said that would make my subscriptions stop after a year.
I can send you the letter they mailed me.
