Liars, Scammers, Theives!
This company is right up there will all the other scam artists out there. We went to one of their so called seminars because we were told if we went that we would win a free vacation plus a $10 gas card. So for kicks we went, with no intention to purchase anything. After hearing all their bogus lies we decided to sit down with a so called agent and talk about it some more. First off we were told many many times that it was not a timeshare, Lie Lie Lie! My parents were with us and for a wedding gift they decided to pay the $1200 down payment on the package. This supposedly gave us access to all of their hotels whenever we wanted to book and at no cost because we were already paying a total of $5000 after the package was all paid for. A few days later I decided that it really didn't sound all that convincing and don't even know why I contracted with them. Luckily I had a copy of my contract which said we had 30 days to cancel with our money back. I tried calling in to the contact info. on the contract, yea the phone number was a disconnected one. So I tried calling any number I could find, NOTHING! So Finally I got a hold of someone at the local place we were at a few nights prior when we joined up. Yea the company just up and left and supposedly wasn't there anymore. I tried for the full 30 days to get my money back, could never get a hold of anyone who could actually do anything. So all in all they went on my credit and suckered me out of $1200 that I could have used towards something that wasn't a HUGE SCAM.

Misled into buying something based on false information by a sales rep
While being on vacation recently, I was lured into a sales presentation with the promise of a price. I was told by the sales rep. that the vacation credits that would take care of air, hotel, activities, cruises, etc. for us. I decided to call one of their departments recently and found out that what we have bought only covers hotels and cruises only and that if we wanted to have other things included we would need to upgrade which would cost us even more. We are already going to pay over $500 dollars on ownership and fees. The cancelation period was only 7 days and now of course, they refuse to cancel the contract. I was a sucker. I was taken advantage of and mislead and sold something based on false information by a sales rep. I feel so humiliated and embarrased. We did sign a contract, but what she told us turned out to be different from what she told us. I feel that is a breach of contract and cause for the agreement to be voided. I have not started to make payments yet. I feel that any monies that I pay them should be returned. I wonder how many people out there are going through the same thing that I am going? These people need to stop. All they want to do is sell. They only want your money and they do not want their product back.

SCAM
WORLMARK BY WYNDHAM DO NOT STAY AT A LOCATION OWNED BY WYNDHAM. DON'T ATTEND PRESENTATIONS. THESE ARE ALL SCAMS TO BILK YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY. SALESMEN LIE, IF YOU SAY NO THEY RETURN WITH ANOTHER SALESMAN UNTIL YOU ARE PRESSURED INTO BUYING JUST TO LEAVE THE PLACE. PURCHASED 14 DAYS TO VACATION TIME TO BE USED IN NUMEROUS RESORT LOCATIONS AROUND THE UNITED STATES. TRIED TO USE SOME TIME IN PIGEON FORGE, TENNESSEE, BUT WAS INFORMED THAT WE COULD ONLY USE LOCATIONS IN THE WESTERN UNITED STATES. STATED WE WERE INFORMED BY SALESMAN COULD BE USED ANYWHERE IN UNITED STATES (THEY HAD COUPLE OF LOCATIONS IN TENNESSEE) FOR A 2 YEAR PERIOD. WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THE SALESMAN WAS WRONG AND EVEN THOUGH WE WERE INFORMED THIS WAS A 2 YEAR PACKAGE, IT WAS VALID ONLY FOR 1 YEAR. THIS COMPANY AND THEIR WORLDMARK VACATION CLUBS ARE A BIG RIPOFF...I ADVISE AGAINST ANYONE PURCHASING VACATION TIME FROM THEM. IT COSTS ME $1600 AND CAN'T EVEN BE USED.

RIPOFF RIPOFF...RIPOFF...RIPOFF...RIPOFF...RIPOFF...RIPOFF

Randomly takes money out of account
I recently was offered an upgrade by phone from a Wyndham representative named "Shep". He is one of those high powered sales guys that tells you anything you want to hear. (we all know the type) In his sales pitch he said I could get an extra thousand points for only $30 dollars a month and the best part was he could use my November payment as the down payment so it really would not cost me any extra to start off. I thought it sounded great, so I signed up.
Well at the first of of October they took my normal payment from my account, then 15 days later they took an additional payment from my account of $ 233.00 ...Which should not happen because when i signed up for Wyndham I signed a paper that said payments would be taken from my account on the first of every month.

---- This was fifteen days earlier than my Novembers payment should be drawn out of my account.------

Because of the recession I have been living paycheck to paycheck and budgeting to keep my family a float. So i called Shep who promised me he would reverse the payment and withdraw it on the normal first of the month. Well a 5 days go by and nothing no money in my account, so I call him back and he says there is nothing he can do it is over his head.---

This is when I asked for a manager. One was not available so he said they would call me back.-It has been two months and still no one has called me back except Stephanie who left a message once and has never returned any of my phone calls since-
So again I called Shep - I stated I no longer want the thousand points because I felt like they were being fraudulent so reverse the whole thing. He said are you sure you want to lose out on such a great opportunity. I said yes with no hesitation. Shep then stated he would reverse the whole situation --No thousand points no extra money and payments back to normal. I asked how i would get my Money back because i am getting late on other bills and overdraft fees, by the way this was also two days before my birthday- no money no celebration. Shep then told me if I needed the money to call my bank and have them put a stop payment on my account for the money...

I call the bank they put the $233 into my account pending an investigation.

Shep never reversed the thousand points and it is now November three days before thanksgiving and I find out at the grocery store that i cant by my turkey because my card is declined. The bank sided with Wyndham saying I agreed to make this purchase. I did agree to make the payment on the first-----They just take money whenever they want.
Shep, Manager Stephanie, and Wyndham in general- I hope you have a great holiday season, my family will be eating frozen pizza wondering how we will afford to buy gas to get to work.

Do not by anything from these people...They only want your money and do not care about you if your an owner or not...

Bait and switch sale of timeshare
We were sold a time share for in excess of $18, 000 using a classical bait and switch technique. We purchased the time share on 10/24/2010. Before we made the purchase, we told the sales person we were not impressed with the time share location at 8601 South Las Vegas Blvd which is also the location of their local sales office. We were attempting to make arrangements for family members visiting over Christmas. We made it clear we wanted our family to stay at the Grand Desert. We were familiar with this time share and thought it was part of WorldMark by Wyndham. The sales person assured us that she had a 3 bedroom unit available for our family. We were instructed to contact another person at Worldmark to get a confirmation number. We contacted that person and were told that she would get back to us with the confirmation number. We never heard from her. We contacted the sales person who assured us there was a unit available and we were instructed to contact another person at WorldMark to get a confirmation number. That person stated she would get back to us with a confirmation number. We never heard from that person. We went to the sales office and spoke personally with the sales person on 11/06/2010 and with her supervisor. Both assured us there was a unit available at the Grand Desert and they would get back to us. On 11/11/2010 the sales person called and told us there was a unit available at 2 other locations. The 1st was at 5275 West Tropicana and the 2nd was at 4225 Spencer. These 2 locations should not even be considered to be resorts. They are more like condominium complexes in undesirable locations. We told her no thank you. Her supervisor then called and finally told us something truthful. The Grand Desert is part of RCI and they required advance requests of 10 months. If we had been given this information at the time of purchase, we never would have signed a contract to purchase the timeshare. We were knowingly mislead by the sales people at WorldMark making an informed decision impossible. We then filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Las Vegas who has forwarded the complaint to their office in Central Florida. WorldMark address in Florida is Wyndham Resort Development Corporation, 8427 SouthPark Circle Orlando FL 32819. The Phone number is 800 691-7289. We consider ourselves to be the victim of a scam. We clearly stated at the time of purchase, what we desired. WorldMark mislead us by saying that they could meet our needs. This was patently untrue. Our charges were placed on a credit card which has been cancelled. We have not paid any out of pocket expenses. We are seeking to cancel the contract. If anyone has any suggestions, legal or otherwise, they would be appreciated.

Travelshare
My family and I were recently on vacation in Anaheim. We were lured into going to a sales presentation by a prize and were suckered into buying a travel share. What a big mistake! We were stupid enough to be taken advantage of and mislead into buying something based on false information by the sales staff. We are looking for other individuals that have gone through this situation and that might be starting a class action lawsuit to join them or to hear if they have been able to cancel it somehow and what steps did they take. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Selling contract
Buyer beware !!! Like many people I fell for the sales pitch, then divorce and other hardships came my way. It seems strange that a multi-million dollar company is so greedy with regular people that have fallen on hard times.
I find it interesting that Worldmark uses the analogy of their membership being like a "car loan". Well most banks will repossess the car if payments can't be made. Why can't Worldmark do the same after the initial deposit is made? They're still making thousands off of people anyway.
Anyone going to a Worldmark preseentation, DON'T FALL FOR THE SALES PITCH !!! Once they've got their hooks into you, you're toast. Where's John Stossel or Geraldo when you need them?

SCAM
My fiancee and I were stopped by some representatives from WorldMark at the Puyallup Fair in Washington State last September. We were told that if we joined the timeshare program by giving a $20 deposit, all we would have to do is attend a 90 minute sales presentation and receive not only our $20 deposit back just for attending the presentation, but also a three day, two night stay at their Lake Tahoe resort. When we arrived at our appointed presentation on October 7th, the building had a sign on it saying that the location was shutdown and we'd have to contact the company. I contacted the representative who approached us at the Fair via the phone number given on our paperwork. There was no answer. When I called the company to find out why we were not contacted about the change in venue before making the hour and a half drive, they told me the man no longer worked for the company. When asked for an issue resolution, they said we would get our $20 back in the mail and also tickets to Lake Tahoe. I don't give a hoot about the Lake Tahoe trip. What I am concerned with, however, is my $20 and how many other families this company has taken advantage of. I have contacted the company 3 times via email with no reply. We contacted the company today, but as usual, got the runaround and then were told "there is no manager or supervisor here that can talk to you today, we'll have them call you later." WHAT KIND OF COMPANY IS THIS!? Are there many others that have had this issue? If so, this needs to be rectified NOW. This company is making thousands, perhaps more, on unsuspecting victims.

WorldMark by Wyndham
I have an Experience account which costs $1600.00. $900.00 is already paid off. One phone representative told me I can get out of it, but I won't get my $900.00 back. That's fine. I just don't want to pay the other $700.00! Now they're telling me I signed a contract, and I can write a letter to Mr. Jones and only if it is financial hardship, will he consider my letter. He considers each letter on a case by case basis. I was told to call another number which was "higher up". I called that number and none of the options fit. When I select one, "We're sorry - that number did not go through. Please try again." I am so sorry I let the 4 sales people I had to go thru before I could leave the building talk me into this!!! I can't look at my account online, or book anything online because it's an "Experience" account. For that amount of money, they can do better! Boy have I learned a lesson.
