I recently purchased two vga cards manufactured by BFG and sold thru Newegg.com, where they offered mail in rebates for some of their video cards. These rebates were and are being managed by a third party named (worldwiderebates). They offer an early payment return if you pay $3.00 from the $25 offered rebate and they promise payment by this means within 4to 6 weeks. You can opt for direct return by check or Visa card. They set up a confusing layout so can easily make an error and choose a visa rebate and once you do you can not change it back to a check form of payment.
On top of that they input your information with errors so when the time come to receive your rebate they have no record of you and pass you on to another department who passes you on again. You finally wind up being told, as they have no record of you in their system you will have to physically gather all information of this rebate since you first filled out the papers and send them all to an address in Miami, Florida. When they receive this information they claim after reviewing it you will receive a visa card within twelve (12) weeks from receipt.
I will venture a guess they will find no record of my rebate claim and deny payment.
To my knowledge I believe they work out of India, or there abouts and not in the United States. This allows scammers to get away with their criminal activity without worry of being caught of fined.
A BFG rep said she had contacted a rep from worldwidrebates and they are going to look into my complaint. If they do and it is resolved I will post that information here.
I hope this helps people from losing their money in the future from similar scams taking place everyday in America and all over the World. The more people warned of these disgusting practices by devious companies the better.
