I ordered a Google Profit CD online in June of 09. The following month, I received a charge from Federal Grants USA, Network Agenda, and Easy Search 4 Cash. The total amount was approx $78 in charges.
I have contacted Easy Search and received a credit within 3 days. I wrote to a customer service dept for Network Agenda and am awaiting a response. As for Federal Grants, I may be at a loss. The number on my bank statement is a non working number and my internet searches have come up empty.
I would like to contact Federal Grants USA and ensure any membership is closed and discontinued. Please note, aside from the Google CD, I thought I purchased solely, I have never received any publications either by mail or email from any of the companies above. My only connection to their services have been the charges on my bank statement. Eventhough, all companies hide behind the Terms and Agreement clause on the CD purchase, I do believe they are not selling their services in fair way to the consumer.
Their memberships and cancellation policies are hidden within the terms of the agreement and are not explicitly known to the consumer at time of purchase or thereafter.
I was not taken to any website, not given any information on their services, and not given any choice as to whether or not I would like to partake any their services. As I told Easy Search 4 CAsh, had I known there was a membership included, I would not have ever purchased this CD.
Please investigate their practices. Consumers should be forewarned and contacted if a membership is being established. It shouldn't come after a charge on their statement one month later. I have canceled my debit card and have not seen any other charges since. Consequently, no one from the companies listed above has contacted me to "collect" any dues nor have I received any invoices for my missed dues for the month.
