There is a company in Portugal that rents appartment in Lisbon (www.lisbonappartmentsforrent.com) that has low ethical standards. This is the story: I was working in Guinea-Bissau with my family as consultant and my wife had to be evaquated because she was pregnant and her waters came while she was 6 months pregnant. Since Guinea-Bissau has one of the lowest medical structure in the world the only solution was to send her abroad. My insurance is a Spanish but the only flight available that day was to Lisbon (the only intercontinental destination there). Since in Lisbon we did not have any housing I had to search the net and I found the company Mr. Friend (www.mrfriend.pt) that posts in rentalia (www.rentalia.com). I got in touch with them while my wife was in hospital and the baby came out and went straight to an incubator. Doctors said that there were strong chances for the baby to survive but he needed to stay in the incubator for at least 3 months. I then rented one of their appartments for 4 months. The day we entered the flat the baby died. I had to go back to Guinea-Bissau to end my contract and decided that my wife must stay for medical check-ups. The company said that they would reimburse the money given the tragic conditions. However, when I came back from Guinea-Bissau and wanted to go back to Spain, where we are residents, the company said that there was no chance to reimburse the money. The contract was made on their full advantage. in business there are still gentlemen. Mr. Friend company is not one of them.
