I booked my Wedding Receiption at the Surf Club Ocean Grille in 03-09 at the Wyndham Oceanfront. The restaurant discussed all the details, menu including a DJ. There were a conflict with the date for June 27th so we changed it to June 13th. No problem just moved it up.

I made sure that there would be no other conflicts and was assured that everything was fine. I had my receiption cards printed out and mailed out the invivations and receiption cards in April.

I met with the new manager on 5-29 and took the DJ to see the room and to give her my menu selection numbers for our sit-down dinner receiption. I asked her about the the deposit and was told she would give the total, that she did not need a deposit. Again I asked if everything was fine. I was told again, no problem we would used the tables that were in the room instead of the big round tables. That the DJ would have room and we could still see the view from the glass doors.

I called her again on 6-5 to get the total. I was told that she would have to get back with me with the figures. She called later that day and told me that since it was in the resurtant that I could not have a DJ, however that the Sales Manager would called me and she could put us into one of the banquet rooms. A plain room no ocean view at all.

I called the Sales Manager Saturday and she told me that she was so sorry for the news. I went down there and talked to the Sales Director and was told that the Sales Manager had left and she had given him some of the info about the mix up. I was told that the room had been over-booked again and that for 41 people that the room would be too small. I left and called the Sales Manager to leave a voicemail and she picks up the phone. I told her that I was there and was told, she had already left. She said that she was waiting on me. We have a meeting set up for 06-08 at 5:30 PM.

How can they get by with this only 8 days away from the wedding??? If I wanted a banquet room, I would of went that route. I wanted a oceanview with water and sand.

I am finally marrying the man that lived across the street from me 36 years ago. This wedding was to be a dream come true, all the plans were finish and now it is becoming a nightmare due to unprofessional people. Please help!!!

How can a room be over-booked again, when I went down there with a DJ on 5-29 and was told that we would be the only ones on the schedule. The receiption is from 2PM - 5PM, that is not the normal eating time.

I could not believe that they could just call and cancel all the wedding receiption plans just 8 days away.
