deceptive sales people
First let me say this- Wynless sales will tell you ANYTHING to make you buy. Here's what C. Foreman, my coordinator, tricked me with; Incident = Was talked into $29k timeshare purchase to consolidate 2 previous purchases which are paid for. Only because this salesman/coordinator said a first right of refusal could be exercised and Wyndham would buyback timeshare if needed. Also that he would help with rental if needed. After months of trying to contact him, he gave me a referral to an online rental site.
Damage Resulting = Papers signed 3/28/2010. Last day of job layoff. Since payments went into effect last spring, my checking account was in dreadful shape. Borrowing from life savings to make payments of $590/month, now increased to 689. Then in November 2010, started collecting Social Security at 62. This is helping somewhat. But work may again slow causing layoff. Then what? Visited 3 lawyers to ask about Chapter7. 2 hadn't really reviewed my situation and were willing to file. the 3rd told me that the bankruptcy would be rejected because if the CC debt and timeshare were relieved I'd have a positive income balance.
Bought Wyn TS at sales an was told it could be sold back to Wyn. And coordinator would help with rental until then. Went to next sales and heard same, 650 miles away. THEY DO TALK TO EACHOTHER. Next sales, asked flat out about "right of first refusal" buyback. My 1st sales coordinator told me to especially meet with this sales, now 1300 miles away, he'd take care of me. This one told me there's no "right" but if I purchased he'd help me rent. Called me back several times and told me that he already had a renter, just buy. In the meantime we visited Atlantic City and sales told us we could get in WAAM for $11k plus costs. All along I'd wondered if Wyn rents to Moe Larry and Curly. They do. Making it tough to get reservations. The 2nd sales meet was in Myrtle Bch. and in Sept. Oceans on the Grove was shown to us and I wondered who were all the people staying at this beautiful location? RENTERS! Owners wouldn't have access until mid October.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can get out of this situation?
Update=it's been a month since I talked to the 1st lawyer and the Bar Assoc. referral service recommended him. $35 fee. He recommended bankruptcy but call for deed in lieu of foreclosure. I did and was told by the financial representative that a deed in lieu would be available after 190 days. Informed the lawyer and he asked why so long a wait? From reading other forums I told him that was the standard length. The lawyer and assistant conferred and told me the best thing to do would be to file bankruptcy. Wyndham could sue me during that time. With spotless credit, although I owe $11k in credit card debt, I'm wondering if the lawyer is on the level to earn a higher fee of $1500 or if Wyndham is on the level and will send the paperwork for a deed in lieu? If I were to recoup some of the TS cost I could pay off the CCs.
When Wyndham consolidated the first 2 contracts, I'd get nothing that I've spent back in chapter 7. So it looks like a deed in lieu is not worth waiting for. Especially if risking a lawsuit from Wynless.
C. foreman may you eternally suffer a fate worse than death.

Satisfaction of Mortgage
Bought Timeshare at Avenue Plaza Resort in New Orleans in 2000. Paid in full in SEP 2004. Have not received Satisfaction of Mortgage. First they said it was filed but their attorney lost everything in Katrina in 2005. Notified BBB & was told Wyndham filed an Affidavit of Lost Note. Each year I go to the Orleans Parrish Mortgage office & am told it has not been filed. Each year I continue to call Wyndham and receive more lies. The mortgage laws of Louisiana state that the Satisfaction of Mortgage should be sent to the buyer within 60 days of the pay off or the seller can "suffer penalty". Anyone know an attorney who can help?

HUGE SCAM! WYNDHAM IS THE WORST! I sat through a presentation with them with a promise of free money. I was not dumb enough to buy into this totally scam. However I was asked for my ssn# told i could not get my free gift if i did not give that information after over 3 hours of being harassed to buy something. I find that WYNDHAM without my knowledge ran my credit report. Im still not sure why. I did get my free $90 gift but was not worth my time or credit as everyone knows your credit score goes down the more your report is requested. These people racially profile during this presentation and pick what they think are the best people to buy or get sucked into this scam. I witnessed a sales person come in the room checking the name tags of the people that they forced to check in. They have about 100 people pushing to sell you something. When it comes down to getting your free gift they only have 2 people at that counter. PLEASE whatever you do don't get sucked into the scam that is WYNDHAM. Totally scam!!! It really amazes me how these people are still in business and are still legally allowed to conduct business this way. If a nice lady asked if you want free tickets for a show or free cash simply by sitting through a presentation please whatever you do say no and don't be polite because these people are not if you dont get sucked into their scam.

liars
Why do all the complaints on Wyndham, Worldmark, Fairfield, Trendwest, and others keep being separated. There are 370 Complaints against Wyndham and its the same company as all of the above.

Bait and switch scam
After staying at Wyndham Nashville in Nov. through RCI. Told of 'mandatory'

45 minute meeting for updates. Told them not interested in buying any more points at least 6 times was told this was not a sale. but a merger. Just sign there and inital here. Seniors beware. You too will be stuck with $9749 You start out with one person and then a second 'supervisor' comes in when the first one sees you are not willing to sign

After this scam, it is very hard to pray "forgive us our trespasses as we fortive others" I will never recommend Wyndham Vacation Resorts to anyone!!

Name recognition
There are hundreds of complaints, 20 here, 25 there, but Wyndham Worldwide owns all of them, Fairfield, RCI, Worldmark (Trendwest), Wyndham Vacation Ownership. Why should they get away with the appearance of only a few complaints.
I grew up in the timeshare business, it had a black eye. Just as it was healing, Wyndham comes along.

SLIMY BUSINESS TACTICS
My husband and I purchased Wyndham timeshare. They use a point system and we purchased several times, brining us to a "VIP Gold" status. On our last purchase CONTRACT, we were given 233, 000 bonus points and temporary Platinum status. We waited and waited for the bonus points to be added to our account. Finally I called Wyndham and was told they could not honor the 233, 000 bonus points because we did not put enough cash down at time of purchase. According to their Owner Relations person (and I use that term loosely) they should never have offered it to us. Several Wyndham people later and several managers later, we were told "sorry, we will not honor your legally binding contract. We will be happy to offer you something else or cancel the contract entirely and refund any money you paid in thus far". They broke the law without so much as a blink of an eye by breaking a contract. Their attitude was that they had the money to pay to cover themselves legally and it would bankrupt me to pursue it so just eat it and shut up. Then they have the audacity to want me to refer people to buy!!! I'll refer people...to Mariott or any other time share company. DO NOT BUY WYNDHAM. THEY HAVE LIED SO MANY TIMES, IN WRITING AND VERBALLY THAT I HAVE ZERO FAITH IN THEM.
