I purchased an Xacto Sharpener a few months ago in 2009 and was told that I could return it to the store for an exchange if it stopped working. The clerk toldme that others have had problems with the sharpener but the store will take it back. I even had my receipt.
When I returned it, the store manager said that I had to purchase a $6.00 warranty or they will not take it back. He also stated that he didn't like my receipt because the numbers are rubbing off. However, the onion paper receipt was given to me by the Office Max cashier. It's not my fault the numbers are rubbing off.
Office Max has refused to take the item back even though I have a receipt.
