canceled subscription
I cancelled this subsription on 2 different occasions yet they are still billing my card and billing it for other things that I don't even know what they are.

CANCELLED GOLD SUBSCRIPTION
XBOX Live cancelled my son's 13 month Xbox Live Gold subscription after 2 days! Apparently someone phoned and told them to lock his account and gave them the correct details of our subscription code. I told them that they obviously did not have proof of payment because I had that - but they would not listen and after 5 hours on the telephone to them - they will not refund the money or replace the 13 month subscription - they are rip off merchants! To do this to children is despicable.

Recurring credit card charges after cancellation
Short and sweet, DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO XBOX LIVE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE! They will continue to charge your card after cancellation and it takes special litagation to have your card removed from the account.

Xbox Live Gamertag Issue
I have been an Xbox live customer since 2005. I recently bought an Xbox 360 and attempted to Link my Gamertag and account to the new Xbox.
I received an error and called Xbox live support. I was told that my Gamertag was already linked, not to an email adress, but just my Gamertag. I was told this is due to my account being from the original Xbox.
Xbox Live support cannot fix this issue and it has been ongoing for over 15days. The issue has been escalated to over 4 different manager/supervisors who have all offered to call me back if there is an update or not and all four managers have failed to call me back. All they tell me everytime I call back is to call back in a few days to see if an update is available. Last time I called, it took 15 minutes ti get to a manager who gave me no information, then could not even help me in making a complaint regarding the actions, or should I say inaction of the previous managers. I find it hard to beleive that Xbox Live Support does not have a Centre Manager. I have worked in call centres for over 8 years and every centre had a Centre Manager. Must be a Microsoft thing to take no responsibility for your company or workers actions.
Completely pathetic. They cannot add, update or delete any of the information of a customers acct. Ridiculous. Now I have to wait indefinitely until Microsoft get off there lazy behinds and fix this pathetic issue.
In short, buy a Wii or a Playstation 3. Even an Atari 2600. You`ll have less hassles and I bet those companies at least appear to respect their customers.
PS My final gripe. To any who read this and have worked in service industries or call centres. Would you beleive an Xbox Live manager called Drew(female) even had the nerve to advise me to call back for an update from time to time. From TIME TO TIME. How long is that? Every week, couple of weeks, or even months? As I wrote earlier, I have worked in Call Centre`s for 8 years and I would never give a customer a response like Xbox Live support. COMPLETELY PATHETIC...

cancellation hassles
My wife received email that son's 12 month Xbox Live supscription would automatically be renewed in January if we did not call to cancel... 1-800 number takes you to India where they ask for all kinds of personal information (e.g. home phone..home address... son's name... card holder name... card number... reason for cancelling)... repeatedly put you on hold, transfer you to at least three different people, keep you tied up on the phone for over 30 minutes, then try to sell you additional Xbox live subscriptions for your friends or relatives, before finally telling your susbscription should be cancelled, but to please double check by calling them back near your subscription renewal date (January) with a reference number they provide... It was unbelievable... and I'm not totally convinced my son's subscription has really been cancelled.

Illegal credit card charges
In July 2008 my son signed up for Xbox Live using my debit card without my permission. i called support and cancelled, but still received charges for months after. I called every month to complain and eventually they said they would mark the account so my son could never sign up using a credit card again.
Guess what, In November 2008 my card starts being charged again. My son had not used the card this time, but had instead signed up using a "free month coupon" he received in a game purchase. BUT, Xbox started charging the same card on his account, the same account they knew darn well had been charged illegally before.
Watch out Xbox Live members. Even if you cancel, you may see the charges start up again months later.
BEWARE OF XBOX, they are ripping people off and illegally charging credit cards.

Terrible Support!!!
In January 2008 I had called Microsoft to cancel my XBOX Live subscription since it auto renewed far a full year and I no longer had an XBOX. They would not refund my money, but said I had to pay for what I had used. I said fine, but I wanted it canceled IMMEDIATELY. Well several months later I was looking at my credit card statement closely and realized there were charges for XBOX Live on there. Apparently they put me on month to month billing for an account that was supposed to be cancelled. I called Microsoft and told them that I had tried to cancel this account months ago, and that I would like them to refund my money, since this was clearly their mistake. They refused. I asked to be escalated to a manager that I could submit a complaint about this situation, and the phone representative refused to do so. I asked if there was a place I could write a written complaint, and the women said I should go online to xbox.com to do so. There is no place to do this on xbox.com. I am fed up. I will never purchase anything with a Microsoft logo again if they do not fix this!

CSR/TOS support
On the 19th of August 2008 I got notification on my Xbox Live account saying that I was suspended for "Inappropriate Content" on my profile because of the three letter "A" word. As I admitted that I was at fault when my account got re-activated on the 21st I fixed the issue immediate upon reinstatement. The evening of the 21st I was then suspended again for a week and called Xbox Live support. They too told me since I violated the Terms of Service that they couldnt do anything for me. When asked if I could talk to someone who could, all they told me was "this is the highest level you can talk to." When asking for proof, they said they didnt have to offer any. I immediately told them to cancel my account.
Personally, I could care less if I was at fault for my own mistakes. I admit to my mistakes on the 19th but after I fixed it and was suspended again, I think that they are the rudest people around and theres no way to "appeal" for something that was purely false. I am on the verge of making sure Microsoft gets ruined because of their conduct since I havent been the first person to have had this happen.

person poseing as xbox
I was kicked off of xbox because a kid thought it might be funny to pose as a xbox hack attacker. He also accused me of hacking into games for points. He said I was showing inappropriate pictures to under age children. I dont even have a camera on my xbox. why are people aloud to go on xbox and tell lies and then the other person gets kicked off for no reason?
I hope you people have a talk with this kid. Its not very funny when you get kicked off for no reason.

Unprofessionalism
I am billed each month on the 15th for my subscription to xbox live to play online with my kids. I got up early today to change from 1 month to 3 months so I didn't have to pay each month, I noticed after changing my billing on the xbox that I had already paid the 1 month subscription of 7.99 and I called them to ask them to "extend" my account for the months I have now paid for which is 4 months and the supervisor Patrick told me too bad that I should have changed it on the 13th because that's the day I signed up and not the 15 when the money is actually taken out of the account and he would not give me a refund for the 7.99, I told him I did not want one that I just wanted the 4 months I paid for and he refused, said I would be billed again in Aug. for another 3 mths. I asked him if he has ever gone to the grocery store piad for his food and then the cashier told him, "no sorry, you can only take half of your food you paid for" this is basically the same thing and he still refused and I then told him that I would be putting a stop payment on the 19.99 I just paid and he said I couldn't because it was already paid. so I called the bank and they said for me to fax in a dispute letter explaining what took place so I did.
