The other phone numbers they are providing to their customers is their fax number or disconnected numbers. (of course, you can't reach anyone on this number, lol.)

I purchased a one-time use kit from XM BRANDS for under $3.00 on the internet. As is customary, I was asked for the "security code" and informed this code would not be kept after this transaction was processed, and would not even be available to the company themselves. Standard, as I said.

A few hours later, the phone rang. It was XM BRANDS. They informed me that our conversation was being recorded which put my antennae up, so to speak. They wanted permission to "upgrade" the kit I had purchased, and to enroll me in a club with a free trial period, etc, etc. I firmly stated, "NO", and refused permission for any other charges besides the already completed one for $2.97. I also refused to give him the security code from the credit card, point blank. I repeated myself.

Imagine my surprise when I received my first credit card bill, which had unauthorized purchases from - you guessed it!!! - XM BRANDS. The phone number they give out is the same as the number on their web-site. IT'S their FAX number. I was only able to obtain the number from my bank, where I had become a familiar voice in the "dispute charges" department.

Since then, I've got charges on my credit card of: $1.94, $1.97, $9.25, $39.95, 49.95, &78.03 and $79.95,
all of this only because I purchased an online kit that should cost me $2.97.

Beware of these thieves...
