We sell art house DVDs and had our e-store on the Yahoo Merchant Service platform for several years and suddently we couldn't log into our store one day. We were shocked to learn Yahoo just locked us out with no explanation. We had pending orders, gift card info, customer info, sales history, sales tax data, & everything else was just unaccesible. After calling them every hour, finally someone referred me to another department- Security. That department just had a voice mail in which no one would return any calls.

We did not sell bootleg DVDs, no porn, nothing against their terms of service.

One of the reps said maybe our site got hacked and we had a virus on it & that's why they shut it down and that if so, they would let us at least log into the back end so we can retrieve customer data & sales tax information. After several more weeks of daily calls, we finally gave up.

DO NOT USE YAHOO HAS YOUR E-STORE PLATFORM! The 800lb gorilla can put you out of business in a snap of a finger with NO explanation needed. What an unbelievable experience!

Pick a smaller more reputable company to manage or host your E-store.
