poor service and tech dept revenge
my 10meg internet service was disconnected 3 weeks ago. My Yak phone still worked, but tech department claimed it was my wiring. I checked the connection from the terminal(former belltech) tested ok. My modem is highend and trouble shoots to their central station as problem. Called Yak and they then disconnected my phone. after 5 days fighting with Yak they sent bell tech out to check. He found it was a Yak port problem and informed them of it. They would look after. Nothing happened until next morning, when I got message from Yak's lying manager that the site technician reported it was my wiring problem. I called the bell tech's cell phone(i got his number at my house) and told him of this, he called the yak employee in central office who then activated my phone and internet again. Hours later the Yak tech manager called me again telling me it was my wiring problem, at which time I Informed him I had service. Within 1 hour Yak them reduced my bandwidth to under 10 meg down. Last week I complained that the service bandwidth was reduced to under 5 meg and 512k upload. They said they would correct this and nothing happened. Yesterday I call to complain about bandwidth, Yak informed me that they could not do anything. I decided to reduce service to 5 meg and pay for what I got. To day they reduced my bandwidth to 2700 kbs download and 232 k upload. I cant win. This organization is truely dishonest and revengeful.

Cost
Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know about a new cell long distance plan.
it's pretty seamless and I found it to be very helpful and safe. The website is
www.celllongdistance.com. It's great
for people like me who have family all over and have to call long distance every
once in a while. It is way better than a calling card as there is no expiry date
and it is always in your phone. I've been using these guys for almost a year and
what makes them the best is the fact that there is no signup fee, no
cancellation fee, they are pay as you go and if you look they even give you
$5.00 to sign up. Great call quality. I have no complaints what so ever. I switched from yak.ca.

Bad service and slow in resolving problems
I signed up for YAK in 2008 July.
After calling YAK at least 20 times, in October, they finally started to look into the billing.
Then, after that, there has been always mistakes on the billing. When I pointed them the errors, they never respond.
They only respond by disconnecting the service once they don't get the full payment.
The company also says it has the right to change its policy anytime. And they seriously do. They are not the honest service provider in town.
Don't be tempted by their price because you are still overpaying for their service considering their poor quality service.

Class Action
This is the worste kind of company. The emotional damage they do to you and your family is absolutely disgusting. I am looking into a class action suite against Yak.

POOOOOOOR Service
I echo all the above comp;laints about YAK > But after waiting 30+ minutes I contacted the parent to this disfunctional child and got a breathing person that immediately put me through to a breathing person and got the problem resolved. Told them to cancel my service and not even a question as to why and can we change your mind. This number worked for me- Good Luck "There is 9 million customers ahead of you."

poor customer service
I am writing a letter of complaint in regards to the Telephone Company - Yak for the number 416-259-0208.
On August 18, 2008 I order my telephone service from Yak Communications as per service requirement I was told it would take 5 – 10 days to have my service connected. It was. On November 12, 2008 I requested a service transfer to my new residence 380 Dixon Rd Suite 2705, Toronto. Again I was told it would take 5 to 10 days to do the transfer.
November 27, 2008: I called to inquire about my service and was told because of a wrong address given it couldn’t be hooked up. Alan re- issued the order and ensured me in 5 days it would be connected.
December 04, 2008: I called again to ask why my service was not connected only to be told again it was a wrong address and I then asked to speak with a floor manager and a supervisor and was told that both were in a meeting and were unable to service my call. I was then told me a manager would email me in regards to my service complaints. I gave the new address for the third time and was told he would do his best to ensure my service was connected and the time without the phone would not be billed to me Yak would take care of it.
December 08, 2008: Once again I called to find out what the matter was this time, why they were having such problems and to demand to talk to a manager - floor supervisor only to be told they (the manager) or even you the chairman and CEO could not do for me what he was already was doing of me. It just didn't work that way. Rocco contacted the courier service to try to find out when my line might be hooked up and was told it would be hooked up on the 12th of the month. So when I pressed Rocco to tell me who I could talk with when my phone line still wasn't hooked up on the 12th he seem surprise to why I would ask such a thing assuring me my service should be available by 5 pm on Thursday, December 12, 2008 or well by the latest Friday.
December 15, 2008: The odyssey continues, I phone again to find out why? I was told this time that its seem there is no such address according to Bell Canada so since they were a service provider thru Bell Canada so therefore Yak cannot provide this service period and was told because of the issues involved with my case the supervisor look into this himself and it was true. I call Bell Canada myself to enquire if this was indeed true? The gentleman from Bell not only answered my questions but made apologies on behave of yak and how frustrated I must be. I was not only told Bell did service my building but I could have my phone number from Yak if I was will to wait 5 days needless to say I did not wait I opted for a new number. I was connected on the 17th of December as promised.
January 03, 2009: I contacted Yak to have my service disconnected unbelievably I was asked why I told the CSR to take a minute to read my file and she I’m sure was smart enough to come to own conclusions. I was told it was already disconnected and I was showing an outstand bill of 36.??. I told her that I was told I would not be billed for all the time I was without my phone. I asked her formerly to disconnect my service and I would like for her to send my file to a service manager to ensure that I would not be responsible for any phone bill after the 12th of November. In fact I am owed $00.29.
January 05, 2009: It is 12.32 am and my number of 416-259-0208 is in fact still in service.
January 28, 2009: service is still available and they now have billed me for 2 months ..

Cannot reach them
I was a member of Yak for a very long time and my account came through my local Aliant Invoice each month. Someone at yak called and said they were no longer serviced by Aliant and I would be dealing with them directly. I have not received a bill for months and have been trying to reach them to find out what was causing my troubles but I have spent hours and hours on the telephone trying to reach them but I get a message saying they are all busy. I can call them any time of the night or day. I have been restricted from making any long distance calls and cannot reach them. Very very frustrated in Bsihops Falls Newfoundland

switched my phone without authorization
I had my phone changed over to YAK without any notification. The nightmare which is still going on happened on Monday Dec 3, I was able to make calls but could receive calls, I only found this out because I was out and needed to call my home. On Tuesday I called Rogers to have them trouble shoot, and they were unable to solve the problem until later in the day when they said that my phone service had been changed. I told them that this is the first I am hearing about this.
It should be noted way back at the beginning of Sep I said I would go with Yak, they said they would be out to do the install on Sep 22 no one showed up called or any other communication. In Nov I got calls from sales reps asking if I wanted YAK and I told them in no uncertain terms that NO I do not want your service. I want to know what recourse others in this situation have done, it will take me 3-5 days to get my Rogers service back and many dollars in prepaid tel vouchers and unable to communicat.

accessibility
yak is repeatedly stating my credit card has expired. This is incorrect, my card has two more years on it. Now, after spending hours over a number of days trying to get this straightened out through the 1-800 number and just being told "operators are helping other clients " (today I was no. 38 the last time I phoned, I find I can't even
dial the 416 number as my account (.36cents) is
overdue (its payable on the 21st of the month and today is the 21st, plus I have used my credit card in the stores today with no problem. (of course).
I have tried to access yak.ca a number of times without success. I would like to get this resolved ASAP, or I will get move to another server.
