Yelp.com Reviews

Nothing, but problems, stay away
We have a restraining order from a past employee who TOLD US he posted a completely false and slanderous review and Yelp will not consider removing it. I've sent 14 emails to [email protected]. Each time, they answer me, but there's no progress. Our lawyer is building this into our case, but it might not be resolved until 2012. Does anybody have any advice as to what we can do in the meantime? I want them to look into the email address that the account is registered under and any activity on the account (i.e. changing the username) which I'm certain they can track, but they refuse. Urgent advice needed!

This site is very unfair in listing their posting
This site is very unfair in listing their postings. I have posted on several businesses and some recent postings will go to the top while others will not show up at all or be filtered. This seems very unfair to the person posting and certainly to a business when there is a positive posting.

Further, anyone associated with these sites should not be able to post to these sites.

removing bad reviews if company pays
I posted a very bad review regarding a company on Yelp.com. Someone contacted me asking a lot of questions about my review. I was suspicious because the questions were almost of a legal type feeling, like being on the stand. Shortly after, I got a notice from Yelp.com that my review was removed because it did not meet certain guidelines. My review had been posted since 2009. I suspect the company either had their legal team contact Yelp and bully them or that they paid for advertising and the bad review away (or to the back of the line as some people are reporting). Money is corrupting the integrity of Yelp. I will still post there and use them, but I am more skeptical than when I first started using their reviews.

Removing good reviews
I have to say I badly amazed by Yelp.com, this site is a scam site for reviews. Every good review my company received for the last 2 years have been filtered. Just 2 days ago we received a 5 star review from a customer and just now I saw it was filtered. Of course they leave the bad reviews from ugly customers who won't mention they were rude and malicious.
Yelp had contact us about a year ago for advertising but we refused because we do not pay for advertising. As a family operated local business we count on our customers to spread the word of good service.
Not in a million years I would imagine that Yelp will continue deny us from our good reviews because we refused advertising with then.
I just have to say Yelp is a big bad SCAM.

SCAM
Let me start by saying that my name is Vic.M and I am the owner of Kis Kiss Hookah Bar, and whose business is obviously listed on Yelp.com. We had good & bad reviews as any other place, but more good ones, total of 47 reviews since we've been in the business for over 6 years.
Couple of months ago I got a phone call from a Yelp.com sales representative (whose name was Mathew) offering me to advertise on Yelp.com for about $300 per week, which I of course refused. A couple of days later Yelp.com removed 42 of my companies' reviews!!! Leaving us with only bad reviews...this type of activity is clearly fraudulent so please sway away from Yelp.com!!!

They delete complaints
Yelping on yelp. If you post a consumer complaint and others don't like it including other patrons Yelp will take it down. However, they will let the patrons personally and publicly attack you for voicng an opinion.

complaints ystematically removed
My rational and concise complaints were all removed from yelp.com.

Yelp has thus negated its purpose for existing which is to provide both the bad and good consumer experiences.

Will no longer waste my time posting on yelp.

Misrepresenting and Cheating
To Whom It May Concern:

Do not advertise with YELP or YELP.COM

There are 2 main reasons why you should not try to advertise with them:

1. The system does not work! Promising 500 or 750 or 1500 counts of visibility does seem high to you at first, but the way they are rendering their software, the system "claims" to be generating over tens of thousands of searches per keyword - WHICH THEY DO NOT SHOW YOU -, a vast number, that is legitimating the fact that your ad will appear only on 1% or less than the total searches.

So no matter how many times you search for yourself, you will not see yourself. And when you bring up this issue you will be advised NOT TO SEARCH for yourself. Cute.

And also - the thing they say where you can TRACK your own searches - that does NOT GO FOR THE TRAFFIC GENERATED FOR THAT KEYWORD - it merely goes for the amount of shows they "claim" they have listed you.

2. THE CONTRACT AND THE SALES REPS ARE CONTRADICTING !!!

This is important ladies and gentlemen; I have been doing business for over 12 years in several countries and I own several clinics.

IF YOU SIGN A CONTRACT THAT TELLS YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY THEM FOR AN ADDITIONAL 3 MONTHS AFTER YOU CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT then that is what they will bill you.

Your sales rep WILL PROMISE other cancellation policy alternatives, he will EMAIL YOU THESE THINGS IN WRITING, and he will also FAX YOU CUSTOMIZED AGREEMENTS -

- HOWEVER -

HE WILL STILL COME BY TO GET YOU TO SIGN THE "STANDARD" CONTRACT

- AND LADIES AND GENTLEMEN -

IF YOU SIGN A CONTRACT IN NEW YORK, You will end up paying the price.

=== SUMMARY:
A system designed to cheat millions of their money with no results provided.
