My wife and I elected to use "Fast Debt Solutions" to help pay off our medical bills, and to improve our credit standing, because we are currently in the process of searching for a house. The business in question sounded like an upfront ethical business that would assist us in debt consolidation and repayment. They were to set up an account to which we were to make sizeable monthly payments, out of which they would take their fees, and which would also be used to pay creditors. Well, so far they have taken out their fees O.K., but we have received no monthly contact to keep us advised of the status of our account. It has taken several phone call just to get a response. We still have not received an accounting of the efforts they have made on our behalf, other than to be advised over the phone that the creditors contacted wouldn't agree to a reduction in any of the accounts we turned over to them (medical bills, and related expenses). We feel that in light of the poor communications, which in and of itself is in direct contradiction to the terms of our contract, plus their failure to successfully negotiate with any of the creditors (other than a surgeon that we paid directly without utilizing the account they set up), that we want to cancel or void the contract. We have come to realize that we are not getting the "bang for the buck" which they indicated they could produce. Because of the poor communication, the vague responses to, or lack of knowledge concerning, question asked about what had been done on our behalf, we have enlisted legal assistance in voiding the contract signed. Our decision was due primarily to their inability to do much of anything other than decuct their fees from the Special Purpose Account we set up with them. Because we were required to give them a limited power of attorney, which they advised was necessary to allow them to work on our behalf, we currently cannot stop them from continuing to deduct their fee on a monthly basis.

We recommend that anyone dealing with the afore mentioned entities be extremely careful, and do their homework, before they even consider elliciting their assistance. It has been a learning experience for us, and one we will not duplicate. We'll do the negotiating on our own from now on, and will subsequetnly save the nearly nine thousand dollars they would have made had we followed through with the 59 month program we were scheduled to participate in.
