Yet another Yodel Horror story - Yodel Australia needs to be shut down!
Yodel does misrepresent themselves as being Google.. I know because they called me stating they are from Google and that they would have Google trained reps look after my account.. that was the first lie!
Of course I loved the idea of 'Google' looking after our business. 2nd lie came when they told me that I would be put on a trial for 3 months and could cancel anytime. So I thought there was zero risk! Wrong...
When I received the receipt for my payment, it was from some Yodel company and fulfilnet BS.. I got curious and googled Yodel only to find out they were an Australia based company. When their rep called me to put together a marketing campaign he said he could help us because he was trained by Google so I thought ok let see what you can do. absolutely rubbish!!
I knew a little about AdWords advertising but was keen to see how 'Google' does it... he said he was trained by Google.. Next..
Yodel took 1 month to get back to me with a draft that i was horrified with.. it was below par and absolute amateur-ish. I seriously had a mush better campaign already running. I decided then Yodel was all about hard-sell (using a mix of deceptive tactics by claiming to be Google) and requested a cancellation of my trial only to find out there was no such trial.. what they had signed me up for was a 3 month product plan (its all on their product page) It was my mistake for trusting the rep on the phone who lied to me about being from Google and the trial package BS - caveat emptor (buyer beware)
Anyway after the refund request they never replied so I had to chase them up (pathetic customer services) only to find out (like many others) that they had denied my claim and would not offer a refund. The best they said they could do was assign me to another more competent senior rep (more rubbish) or use my funds for another product.
So essentially, they STOLE my money with all their lies and deceptions. The amount in concern was $500 so it didnt kill me but thats still a lot of wasted advertising dollars!!
And here's the real scam! They target small - medium operators (as well as many start-ups) knowing very well that for the majority of them, they do not have the funds to file a lawsuit.. In my case.. even if i am cashed up.. it would cost far more in time and dollars (thousands) to take them to court for a small claim and they know it!
A class action lawsuit needs to be brought against them by a lawyer willing to take it up.. but I doubt that will happen.. best you can do is lodge complaints with the appropriate authorities (ASIC and Consumer Affairs etc etc) and have a large enough pool of complaints built up against them to merit an investigation..
How about contacting news .. they love a good scam story.. ACA or 7pm Project or sth..
YODEL if not a SCAM is definitely a SHAM !! They need to be shut down!
Lesson Learnt- NEVER ever sign up over the phone when contacted no matter how good it sounds or if the 'offer expires when we hang up' rubbish.. Hang up and do your due diligence.
Also beware of USASEOPROS / Business Development Institute from USA... they are in the same business.
hope my 50c contribution catches the eye of someone doing their due diligence.
Peace!
