I received a coupon in the Val-Pak mailer for $79.95 whole house steam cleaning with this company. When I called to schedule the appointment, "Lisa" answered the phone and was very friendly and scheduled an appointment for Tuesday, May 24 2011 between 9-11 a.m. She told me that someone would call me the day before to confirm. Nobody called the day before, and when I hadn't heard from anyone by 9:15 on the day of service, I called to confirm they still had me down. Lisa told me that they did have me scheduled, that I was the second person who'd said they didn't get a call and apparently her secretary hadn't done her job. I asked if the tech was on time, and then she told me that he'd had car trouble, and would let me know his status ASAP, but they should still make the 2-hour window. After 12:00, she called to tell me that his van was being towed, but another tech could take care of me after he finished his other customers. At 1:20, the tech "Kyle" called to say he'd be at my house at 3:00. At 3:20, he called to say he'd be there at 4:00. Around 4, three people showed up at my house. Immediately, I was asked if they were cleaning the stairs. I told them I was under the impression they were doing the whole house. Then an older man said "We're just trying to economize and save you some money, since it's $60 per room". I told him that I had a coupon for $79.95 for the whole house, and he said "That's just for steaming, it doesn't include shampoo." He told me that steaming is just to refresh carpet. I asked why it says "Steam cleaned" if it doesn't clean, and he said that the shampoo is an extra $60 per room. I told them all to get out of my house, at which time the woman with them said (rudely) "It says it right on your coupon." I double checked the coupon, and it does NOT say this anywhere on the coupon. What it DOES say is "We also offer dual process for high traffic, stubborn spots, and stains". Nowhere does it say steaming doesn't actually clean and shampoo is extra. When I called their office to complain, "Lisa" told me that I had misread the coupon. I told her I was reporting her to the BBB, and I wish I'd checked with them first, since I found they have 3 other complaints against them and a grade of F. Basically, I wasted an entire day, lost a sick day from work, and still had to clean my carpets myself with my own Bissell steam cleaner. These people are nothing but scam artists!
