This past Saturday, my husband, a professional musician, worked a gig running sound for some of his fellow musician friends. The gig was for the mayoral candidate who won the election. When we arrived the place was packed and available seating was at a very minimum, minimum. I was wearing high heels and sat down at the only available table. It took forever just to get a menu. Not long after our food arrived (I was sitting with a couple of other people who came out to see the band) we were told that we would have to get up because the candidates party was arriving. The other lady that I was sitting with has a handicap and cannot stand for hours at a time, so we let them know that we would be willing to move if we were going to get a suitable table.
The manager did find us a table and we did move. Even at that, for an hour or more after we moved to the new table, the woman who apparently organized the volunteers for the election, went from table to table and even outside to whine about how we refused to move and that we "weren't even NFL people". NFL being the initials of the people who won this election.
Apparently, one of the managers had told my husband that our meal was comped. At the end of the night, they started seriously hounding us about paying the tab. My husband told them what he had been told. The other manager started cursing and yelling about how he never 'effing paid for an effing band's meal' and he wasn't going to start now. My husband went ahead and paid our tab so that we could leave that drama behind and go home. While my husband was loading his equipment into our vehicle, the manager apparently discovered that the band had left without paying their tabs, so he started haranguing my husband about it. Upon being told that he would have to take that up with the band, as we had already paid our tab, he informs my husband that he (the manager) doesn't need my husband's attitude and even went so far as to call my husband a "scumbag".
All this drama to be treated rudely all evening and to get food that is mediocre at best? Even if Z Tap and Grill was the only restaurant left in the world, I would NEVER eat there again. thank goodness I live in Dallas and not in Flower Mound. If that's the example of how the people in that town behave, I don't even ever want to drive through there again.
